  So far, I am enjoying Undead Citadel. Played on a Vive Pro 1 wireless, 4090: - Graphics: Decent enough. Somewhere around Saints and Sinners fidelity, maybe a bit lower. Torch/candle lighting effects are quite good - Performance: I do have a 4090, but this runs really well. I had everything on ultra and used 300% supersampling (VP1). No frame drops, and the highest frametime I saw was 5.5ms (so around 180fps minimum). Lower specs can expect really good performance at normal settings and no supersampling. - Gameplay: Combat is pretty fun and satisfying. Basically B&S fidelity; everything you can do in B&S, I was able to do here. There's simulated weight to every weapon, so you can't just waggle combat. You can also improvise weapons from the environment (like a big candle stick to shove enemies away, throw pots at them, etc.) You'll recognize a lot of the AI animations, as many of them are the same used in B&S (open-source animations I believe) - Exploration: I enjoyed going through the levels and exploring every nook and cranny. Lots of weapons/unlocks/potions to find hidden in places. - Difficulty: I'm playing on hard, and it has been very easy so far. Granted, I'm only two levels in, so it may get hard later. A few cons: There's barely any music/ambient noise. So when you're exploring around, the game feels kinda "dead" with no atmosphere. Some audio effects need tweaking (potion effects are too loud and distracting, some audio clipping pops/crackles with your footsteps). Campaign is looking to be pretty short, it's "over 10 levels long", but it only took me 80 minutes to beat the first two.

  from what ive played so far the game is really cool but the combat needs alot of work still enemies feel like stuffed animals, not much impact when hitting the enemies, some of the weapon textures needs work picked up a great sword and the handle looked like a lego block,hands can be janky at times,besides that great game with alot of potential hopefully the devs dont let this game die.

  Well worth the wait, a little laggy at times but I think that might be because I'm using an oculus quest 2. This game is awesome. The combat is satisfying and clean and the visuals are really well done. Good job devs the wait was worth it!

  Good game Played it till the third level and a round of the horde mode, I think the Physics and the fighting is pretty Solid, but sometimes It felt a bit like a look through all houses simulator even ofc it was my decision to try finding hidden things inside of them. But yea me likey good game, cant wait for Multiplayer if that actually comes :3

  Returned it. I'm really big on B&S and was really excited for this game but it still feels incomplete. It lacks sound effects. Like sounds of swinging the swords or any ambience. Combat is floaty and janky. I practice sword martial arts and everything is way too floaty. I can't swing my sword like how I do in real life and instead, have to swing slow at enemies to make a hit. Like "pretend" fighting. Just waving my sword on enemies is enough to kill them. Level design is janky too. Took me half an hour to figure out that I had to burn a wall to move forward. Was really intuitive. Only good thing is the setting and lighting. I'll repurchase and change my review if it gets better.

  My rig: Valve Index, RTX 3090, i9 10900K (10cores/20threads, 5.3Ghz), 32GB 3200 Mhz, Win10 Pro. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2986614646 Using Ultra settings, this game is demanding, but you got great real-time lighting and detailed dynamic shadows - and surfaces look like using bump-mapped textures. The HDR-like lighting looks awesome, not sure I've seen it better in any other VR game: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2986612315 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2986610579 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2986614346 The best I could do was to max out all graphics settings in-game (leave res slider at 1.0), select Index res 225% in 80 Hz and disable motion smoothing. Then I had solid 80 fps - but I'm only 1.5 hours into the game. The fighting is better in HellSplit, in Undead Citadel it feels like there's some latency to sword swinging, which devs may have done to simulate some weight and (lack of) precision. I do love the voice actor behind this game - this is a game for adults. You can enter nearly all houses/buildings, in great contrast to many other similar games close to no door is locked in the Citadel (ok, some doors are, but then you can unlock the door and enter). This is a real VR game, made from the ground up for PCVR. You can interact with most objects, physics work great. Note that the game is easy for Blade and Sorcery veterans, in that case choose the hardest level of difficulty. For now 8/10 to me. 9/10 if latency on sword swinging is lowered.

  I wish I liked this game but with lag, bugs, and the game overall being unpolished I cannot recommend Undead Citadel

  After playing a lot of B&S and battle talent it took me a while to get into the combat but now I’m loving it- the character animations are really good.lots of atmosphere!
