  It pisses me off that these 10 year old who only play CoD and GTA five consider themselves ‘gamers’ when they haven’t even played this magnum opus that is SEGA Bass Fishing. SEGA Bass Fishing’s name must be said be said in whole to even acknowledge the game correctly; not ‘bass fishing’ but SEGA Bass Fishing. Any ‘flaws’ associated in this masterpiece are flaws of the players lack of skill and lack of appreciation for the art. It was said that on the Mayan calendar that the world would end in 2012, but they decided to cancel it due to the HD rerelease on Xbox 360, PS3 and Steam. The world has yet to acknowledge the euphoric and godlike value of SEGA BASS Fishing so we have been on a downwards spiral as a species ignoring this gift from the gods. There are two people in this world; SEGA Bass Fishing enthusiasts, and infidel philistines. SEGA Bass Fishing is no ordinary fishing game, it’s a way of life, a movement, philosophy some might say. SEGA Bass Fishing is a work of art, so high concept only true, enlightening individuals can appreciate with a high IQ. SEGA Bass Fishing can still be enjoyed lower to average IQ individual, but misunderstood by the plebeian mass media at large.

  This game is surprisingly more engaging than it appears to be once you get to know it, but still pretty meh compared to modern games and classics. It's an arcade game ported to console, after all. Get this game if you: - are an achievement hunter - not the kind to waste your time playing long games - nostalgia - want to get bass

  This is an honest port of the Dreamcast game. It's a simple and fun game, but it can get boring really fast. I recommend getting this game if you're nostalgic for it or if its discounted, and make sure you play with a gamepad.

  Game is not that bad, but the analog controls using the right thumbstick on the XBOX 360 Controller seem a bit odd when trying to simulate the feel of turning the crank on the fishing line to reel in the fish . Has the tournament mode from the original Dreamcast Edition. This version of the game don't have any of the graphical glitches like the original SEGA PC release did back in the day. Kind of short and lacking in content but its still not that bad. Still prefer Fishermans Bait on PS1 if you have the console and have access to the game :)

  Yo you love fishing games but dislike how excruciatingly realistic, complex, and "authentic" modern fishing games try to be? Do you want a more fast-paced, exciting arcade fishing experience? Want a fishing game that's got some personality and charm to it rather than having a bland, realistic aesthetic? Then this may be the fishing game you're looking for SEGA Bass Fishing is a special lil' fishing game. It was originally developed for arcades in 1997, and it really shows. You're on a timer during games (you can gain more time by catching fish) and the fishing mechanics are basic and simple to pick up, so the whole game is pretty fast-paced. Very easy to just pick up and play whenever. The game features an announcer who will yell out helpful things, such as giving you a cue when a fish sees your lure, telling you which direction to hold your rod in while reeling, and several other stuff. The announcer for this game is one of my favorite things, it makes the game more exciting and fun. The voice itself isn't that great, but that's one of the reasons why I love hearing it, it just sounds like a late 90s voice actor. The OST for this game is really great, some tracks just ooze the late 90s. It's an OST good enough to listen on its own. Being a port of a game from '97, the graphics are dated looking. But if you grew up with the Dreamcast/Playstation/N64 generation, then it could be nostalgic to see. I personally grew up in that era, and while I never played SBF as a kid, I found this game to be very nostalgic. If you're someone who really enjoys fishing minigames in JRPGs and whatnot, but doesn't care about actual fishing, then I recommend this game. The enjoyment I got out of this game was the same enjoyment I got from playing Final Fantasy XV's fishing minigame. SEGA Bass Fishing can scratch that JRPG fishing minigame itch. Just simple and fun fishing.
