Unlike Code Vein DLCs, this DLC is packed with a good story around the man named "Karen Travers" and why he chose that path. Additionally, the game adds the HARDEST and COOLEST boss ever in the whole game.

these are my fav costumes of any of the dlc to date - i think maybe, cause there has been some sick ones - but once exchanging the design attire tickets included in this dlc, which are needed to exchange for one of the new costume sets for each party member, u end up with 3 new costumes sets for each party member. although its getting a bit difficult to keep it all straight with all the dlc items and cryptic nature of acquiring some of the visuals - which is definitely not a complaint as i like the process of it - and therefore i am not 100% on when/where which dlc provided which costume, i can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that this dlc was well worth it IMO. but i do stan for anything Scarlet Nexus...so i hope they keep it coming! and for those of you that havent watched the SN anime series, i recommend it, its awesome. for me it makes up for the fact that some of the bond episodes ventured a bit too far into 'made for kids' territory, despite liking most of them... its all the same voice actors as the game, so it really maintains continuity and feels like a natural extension of playing thru the game...which i have now done 5 times...and will be doing again with both Yuito and Kasane in the new 'very hard' mode included with this dlc. when i beat the game last month with both characters in the hardest difficulty mode (starting fresh, not in EX game mode) i kept wishing there was like a plug in or setting that could combined 'attack damage suppression' & 'system double edged sword' concepts but without the +20% damage dealt and with added enemy aggression...cuz 'hard mode' was most fun during the final boss and dominus circus fight - in a perfect world, for me, the whole game would be that challenging... all this aside - at least for me - this game gets better every time i play it. the only other game i've felt like this about in the last few years was Sekiro, which the team behind SN should take as about as good of compliment as i could possibly give them. PS i look forward to messing around with the new photo mode ;)

It's amazing. This is the kind of wrap-up I wanted for Karen's story. I'm truly fascinated with how well the developers handled this game and its DLC expansions.

All I have to say is 'holy crap'. Karen's story is told and wrapped up in a real gut-wrenching way. Despite how dark this DLC is, its a really great way to wrap up the game and its story until news of a sequel comes to light. If it never does, then I'm really content with what was given.

Oh boy. This DLC might "just" add the hardest boss in the game, some decent costumes, and a bunch of cutscenes... but these are some REALLY good cutscenes. There is genuine heart put into this story, maybe more so than in the base game. This DLC makes for a very good epilogue if you've completed both Yuito's and Kasane's stories as it'll give you a third perspective on things. Maybe be prepared to cry too.

The Karen episodes are great but it has the same issue as DLC 2: lot of grinding. You have to beat a lvl 99 enemy to get acces to the Story content. So you literally have to grind for hours to actually being able to beat the enemy.

Surprisingly good story DLC that serves as a nice conclusion to Scarlet Nexus. I found myself liking Karen a lot more after playing it. The DLC is best done after beating the game with at least Kasane and making your way to level 99. Episode Karen features 4 extensive mini-stories (just cutscenes, no gameplay) that detail the past of Karen Travers, one of Scarlet Nexus's key characters. While it didn't outright fix it, Episode Karen dealt with one of the big issues I had with Luka's character in the base game, which was the lack of interaction with his brother, Karen. The lack of details and time on the relationship between Luka and Karen in the base game was pretty disappointing given how easily it could have added to their existing characters. Thankfully, this story DLC focuses more on their relationship and leaves it off in a better place than the base game does. To fully unlock Episode Karen, you'll need to beat the additional boss fight, The Shadow On The Recording. The Shadow On The Recording boss fight is neat. It's a spectacle, and a pretty damn good one. You'll have to be more mindful of his wide variety of attacks compared to other bosses since he has a pretty beefy health bar. It's definitely a few notches up in difficulty compared to the rest of the game's boss fights. If you've played through most of the Vision Simulator missions and tried to S rank a handful of them, you'll be fine. Not much substantial to say about it other than that Karen's design and super attack look really cool. In addition to the 2 costume sets you get along with the DLC (detailed in the trailer/screenshots above), I'd say it's worth the money.

Completely forgot to make a review on this one for a little bit but here's my consensus: Episode Karen: 10/10 easy. Karen and Luka get well-needed shared screentime and development, you get to see the extent of Karen's time travelling, and it also helps solidify Alice's character more than what we got in the base game. Shadow on the Recording Boss Fight: 100/10, I am not joking. Hardest boss fight the game has to offer and has Karen using attacks that up the flash factor 2x. You will probably rage a few times (I know I did) New Outfits: 5/10 This time around the new outfits were weak. The outfits for Yuito and Kasane are nice, but for all the other characters they just get re-skinned versions of their original outfits, instead of their own new unique outfits that the previous DLC packs had. So since there are only a total of 4 completely new outfits, this category gets that 5/10. But I guess since the big focus of this DLC is Karen, I can give it a pass when considering if this DLC is worth the money. This pack is worth the $7. And now that I've reviewed all three DLC packs. Man these really are huge "bang for your buck" packs.
