  I know it's early access but the game development looks dead since July and its November already. No updates, no fixes, no patches. If it wasn't for lack of progress and development the rating would be different. @nathalie.ross - 23rd of December edit: it's been almost 4 months since last update/fix. My rating stands unchanged. @nathalie.ross - 21st of January 2nd edit: It's been yet another month of empty promises, deception and lies. Rating stands unchanged. This game is dead as a Dodo. @nathalie.ross - 15th of March, 2022 - still no updates, fixes, patches. The game remains DEAD.

  First thing first is I would say I love this game! We are in need of something like this on the market! Personal thoughts about the game would be: I would love to play a game mode which is on more of a micro level. For example a survival RPG mode which you control only one creature and experience the circle of life of the creature. Maybe some multiplayer potential on this as well!

  To start, I do recommend the game. I found it pretty peaceful, if extremely micro-managey when you're starting through the tutorial/campaign levels. That said, I am hoping they update some specific things; I'd really like more animations that indicate what the animals are doing (eating, sleeping, etc) as well as animals automatically hunting in an area, rather than having to select each prey animal at a time - depending on the prey, I guess (so for rabbits, wolves go in and kill a number, but for boar or deer, it makes sense for them to hunt one at a time). Some variation in the models would be nice too. Rabbits are all the same color for the most part, wolves are all the same drab brown. I don't want like neon pink or anything, but even just different SHADES of brown would be nice. I know this sounds like a lot of criticism, but I honestly have faith in the developers. I can tell that this game was made with a clear concept in mind and I believe they'll execute it nicely once everything's done. It's peaceful, the narration is lovely, and the visuals are beautiful. I also really like the trait system when it comes to animal breeding, though I would like more realistic animal behaviors when it comes to breeding - i.e., wolves again, the alpha male typically dominates the breeding sphere/has multiple partners (may have just been constrained by the campaign). Ultimately, the game has a ways to go, but that's why it's in EA. It's still enjoyable and I'm invested in seeing it through development.

  Game is lacking a lot to provide a satisfying experience. Campaign is done in an hour and the game has nothing more to offer after this. Gameplay is basically click animals, tell them to drink, eat or sleep, then timelapse to wait for needs to be fullfilled, have intercourse. That's it. Even if this game is early access, I don't see the reason to pay 10 bucks for an hour of click-and-wait-gameplay.

  Peaceful management game about forest wildlife. Early access without much content yet, but offers a very serene experience nonetheless! [h2]Eat, drink, rest and reproduce [/h2] In Natural instincts it's your job to make a species survive. These species currently consists of rabbits, wolves, boars, deers and bears. The game offers (version 1.0.6) a tutorial, a campaign for the first three mentioned animals each, and a free play mode. The instructions are read by a very pleasant, high quality voice, which greatly enriched my experience with the game. Animals have three meters for their current hunger, thirst and energy (sleep). They can drink from any open water source, eat from dedicated spots on the ground (or in case of wolves other animals, or in case of bears both ground and animals), the same with sleeping. When all three meters are above 90%, the animal becomes ready for mating. This is the only action that requires the player's active input, because eating drinking and resting happens automatically. The game offers some small challenges, such as diseases, hunters, dumped waste. Your job is always to survive all playable species. [h2]Thoughts [/h2] The game offered me a very zen experience, although I felt a bit like the animals' babysitter. The game doesn't offer much gameplay, which is absolutely fine in my opinion. I read some comments that some people asked for city building tools. I'm not sure that's the course to go... I would rather like to see even more chillness in the form of a selectable option for automatic mating per species, maybe which unlocks after 50 manual matings. I rather see this game expand with more species, more events and more environments. This game is supposed to be an around ten-twenty hours experience. And that's what I like about this game, it's an experience, just hanging around in the forest. I'd like to suggest to the developer to keep it simple, and not complicate the game for the worse. This is an early access game, which results among other things in a quite heavy performance requirement. After an hour of play I generally relaunch the game because it tends to stutter then. And I was lucky to witness a bouncing car at some point! I haven't mentioned I love the design of the forest!   Well obviously abandoned, devs have said so themselves and zero updates since 2021 also confirm it. I had this game wishlisted way before launch and was excited when it came out. Turned out to be quite boring but I liked the overall concept and I thought I'd leave it in my library to support the devs nonetheless, hoping for improvement. Big error. I hope I can still refund this but I doubt it, waste of money, disappointed in this company, remove this from sale if it's not being developed anymore, since you took people's money and ran, or you want to keep scamming more people? Shame on you. DON'T BUY THIS, the developers confirmed there's no work being done on it and haven't come forth with anything else but vague answers about wanting to get things right. You guys know the easiest way to get things right here? Give us back our damn money.

  They launched the game in early access to abandon the project 1 week later with zero updates. After keeping everyone waiting for a year they finally "officially" admitted they stopped working on it. Or well stopped, they never actually worked on it other than this very early alpha build. SHAME on you DreamStorms Studio's en Shame on your publisher: Games Operators, for continuing to sell this game on Steam without any notice saying that it's been canceled.
