This is a really well polished little game. It does what it describes and is quite addicting! As a fellow political enthusiast it is really good to see a political game, not just about elections but creating laws and long term planning. In order to pass laws that you want to see in your virtual country you will also have to ensure that there is the budget to pay for it otherwise your country will rapidly lose money. Pros: - If you are into politics this is a unique game in a rather small pool of other political games. - It is fairly easy to pick up and has a range of difficulties to suit the player. Cons: - It isn't the deepest or most complex political game out there - but for me that is a positive. Some uber-political gamers may find this a little simple, but I also think that it is a good game for a general audience to get into; from children to seniors to pick up a bit of political knowledge. Overall: Again, really fun and addictive. I would easily recommend this to anyone. Well done to the dev(s) for a really good game!

This game is not polished enough at all. It's extremely unclear what the different laws are supposed to be. For instance, one law you can pass is called "Vote". No description or anything.

Laws of Civilization is one of the best political simulations I've played because it gets the most important ingredient of a political sim right: the politics. I felt genuinely invested in my party's successes and failures and never felt like the game was being unfair or too easy. The elections are the most exciting I've played and feel earned no matter which way they go. I don't feel like I won or lost in a landslide because the game is broken but really deserved it each way, either because of the prosperity I brought to my citizens or my constant use of corruption to put my vision into motion. One thing I will suggest is less poll accuracy. The election is never far from the popularity percentage indicated at the bottom left, and it would be more fun for elections to have some more randomness. However, the best politisim doesn't come without its downsides. Despite all its great strides in strategy, the tactics to becoming a leading political force in your nation become really predictable. Just interview, flyer distribution, promise, deliver on promises, election, repeat. While it is in early development, the base game is pretty easy to figure out. I'm sure more depth will be added in the future (or in future installments hopefully), but in its original form, these are the flaws. Another negative is that the game is either conservative or trying to be balanced. Either way, I have no idea how legalizing same-sex marriage makes the general population less happy. Maybe the developer was just trying to indicate that some people would be unhappy with the law, but I think that a better way of symbolizing that would have been to have voter groups to appeal to instead of ideologies. That way, when I legalize gay marriage or abortion, I anger the religious and conservatives but get some more votes from the liberal crowd. It's a fixable negative, but it still bothers me when I'm playing. Overall, it's a good game and has a lot of potential, but it gets old after a while and some simulation factors don't make any sense. It's still in early development, and I think it's worth the buy to support the developers as they improve a very good start to a game.

I have played many political based games. I feel that this game for the price that you pay it is a steal. The game is incredibly polished for what you pay. The interface is easy to pick up and the difficulty settings are great progressions for anyone that wants a challenge. There are not many games that have executed at this level of making political decisions, legislation and the executive. Great job to the maker of this game. It is a game to be proud of especially since the maker of the game was interested in making a game that they wished they could play before they made this one.

A great politics game, love every part. You become really invested in the success of your party. It would be great if this game was more complex with things such as coalition governments, wars and dictatorships (that come with revolutions and such). I would definitely recommend this game to friends, in fact I already have

Despite the many nations which are offered in the game, they all lack any degree of accuracy or detail, with many being almost identical to each other. Electing a president serves absoloutely no purpose at this stage and the party popularity mechanic remains rather unexplained and also very simplified. I acknowledge that this game is still in development, yet I believe that it would be much better for 2 or 3 nations to be in place with accurate political systems rather than several, seemingly identical countries.

As of right now, there isn't a ton to do in this game. The policy making and political party options/interactions feel limited, and you can't make a party with certain values that the AI will then follow. Now you might be asking why I am recommending this game. I am choosing to do so because I see massive potential in this game, and the developer seem very passionate about this game and I guarantee the game will get major content updates. A proper political party simulator is something I have basically dreamed of for so long, and I can't wait to see what the future brings for Lawgivers.
