While I do see the reasoning behind a lot of the negative reviews I think this was a very unique take on how to expand your basic time management game beyond the chapters and small bonus games. This approach allows for a lot more game play and (if you're a perfectionist) a very intense challenge. It does get repetitive but not so much that you need to rage quit. I think for the hours of gaming it is well worth the money and was a risky but innovative change to the typical layout of these kinds of games.

I do not mind grinding and actually enjoyed the game until the game crashed and all data was lost. I restarted after the first time and got far along. Game crashed again and all progress and data was lost. No - thank You.

It's basically like all Heart's Medicine game - don't get me wrong, I love these games, I'm just stating the fact that core of the game is the same. But... I didn't expect such quality drop. Map looks weird and u can't move around, the bottom bar with money etc looks somehow... bad? End screen of lvl is also looking meh and u can't (at least I wan't able) to skip so you w8 for all 5 (yes, its 5 not 3 in this game) stars to fill. And tbh I would be able to ignore all these little things, cause its just my preferece, but the fact that theres no achievement... Makes it not worth my money on steam. Without them game just feels like... Idk, kida visual novel with no point but to tell a story - and thats just not my kind of game. So if you dont care about it its product for you, but I'd rather buy different game for this money and play Doctors Oath on adroid for free.

I was so excited when this game finally came out on Steam. Couldn't wait to see what was next in the story. I've played 6 hours so far and most of it has been playing challenge levels over and over to collect enough stars just to unlock the next part of the story. I've only managed to get to the second area and need more stars to move on. So many challenge levels is unnecessary and the point system is terrible. The previous games it was so easy to reach 1,000 points and some levels you can just barely reach 200 or more. Patients take forever to come in which makes it even harder to earn points as well. Some people would just use the call next patient feature, but when you need that time just to earn points it's not worth using. Plus sometimes it doesn't cost time to use it and others it does, you just don't know when. I don't want to have to grind challenges or story levels just to get more of the story. The story is what I came for, but I was met with annoying challenge grinding instead. The only positive thing is that Oliver is cuter. Very disappointed.

While I would recommend this game, I am more neutral towards it in comparison to past installments in the series due to the changes in game mechanics. In Doctor's Oath, the engaging story from past games can still be found here. However, they are heavily locked behind grinding of new "challenge levels". Given that Doctor's Oath first debut as a free mobile game, it is likely the introduction of the new 5-Stars system in each level was meant to capitalize on that to encourage free players to purchase the game, or unlock story levels with diamonds. You will not get 5 stars in your first playthrough of most, if not all levels, beyond the first few levels in the first chapter. You will need to grind the stages repeatedly to get enough score for the full 5-stars if you are a completionist. Moreover, story stages are locked behind a large number of stars that will definitely require you to play through the challenge stages, and obtain at least a few stars across ALL stages to move onto the next chapter. You will also find yourself grinding "hearts" which are the currency to purchase upgrades for each ward, and they get increasingly pricy in each subsequent chapter. You will be grinding ALOT for stars and hearts. As of my 11 hours, I've only finished chapter 3 out of 6, most of which were spent on repeating challenge modes and grinding the hell out of certain stages that net the most hearts to upgrade current and previous chapter wards. Frankly, given that the game had been made buy-to-play on steam, the developers should had changed the current mechanics, keeping a maximum of 3-stars with a reasonable score for each stage, and a fixed amount of hearts and diamonds given that ensure that each ward can be completed by the end of each chapter, with OPTIONAL retries of a stage. Personally, while I enjoy the extra challenges from the challenge stages, the game is VERY, VERY grind heavy.

I didn't finish first week in game yet but I'm sure that it's the worst part of Heart's Medicine. To get 5 stars I need to go through the levels 5, 6 times. What a waste of time! Especially when most of the levels are additional one - without plot, interesting events. - just boring clicking. Hear's Medicine was my favorite game from GameHouse, for Doctor's Oath I was waiting so long - I'm really sad about it. Please fix it! This game would be 100 better with normal pointing system like in previous games.

I have the same complaint as most, being I fell in love with this series for the story telling. The old versions having a few challenges in between is just fine, but this one, you need to grind through an ocean of useless challenges just to get to more story, or to get upgrades you need to make game play worth while. I waited so long for this and played it all day as soon as it dropped and I'm barely at the end of the second area. I can't even express how disappointed I am. :(

This addition to the Heart's Medicine series is quite a bit different from its predecessors. Many players may not like the new star grinding aspect to the game. I personally do not mind the new system. Since there is more to do and more side goals to accomplish, there is a longer playtime value, which makes me feel as though I'm getting more game for my money. The challenges are not super difficult; I was able to reach 5 stars on most of them in the first section of the map within three tries. There are different upgrades and booster items to unlock which help you accomplish the challenges even faster. I think this is a great game that gives players more flexibility to play the story at their own pace and set personal goals. It is a fresh take on the usual linear Heart's Medicine games. I hope they implement achievements for this game in the future.

This is the worst game of the Heart's series. Here you are forced to play the same level again and again and again and again and again... just to move through the main story. Think twice before purchase. P.S. I still try to play this game just because usually don't stop half-way. But I already hate it.
