  • Relaxing, satisfying gameplay

Purge the land of the Crimson Dawn's hordes

Crimson Dawn is a casual hack & slash RPG. Recruit and train mercenaries for battle. Upgrade them from novice adventurers with flimsy gear to terrifying combat veterans with a massive arsenal. Go on an epic journey from your backwater village to the very source of the invading evil. Reach the Crimson Oracle and put a stop to this madness once and for all!

Hack and slash without a single click!

Every weapon and spell attacks automatically, so all you have to do is steer clear of enemies and try not to get surrounded. So sit back, relax, and crush hordes of fiendish foes without breaking a sweat!

Freedom of choice

You decide how many quests you want to take on and what you're willing to risk. More quests means stronger monsters — or maybe even bosses — but also better loot.

Open-ended character development

Your mercenaries earn experience for every successful run. Earn enough XP, and you'll get a skill point you can use to enhance their combat abilities.

Every weapon and spell has its own upgrade tree, as well as its own game mechanics.

Your character gathers materials and coins during battle. You can use them to upgrade weapons and spells and enhance skills that are shared by all characters.

Crimson Madness

During battle, your mercenaries are vulnerable to the influence of the Crimson Dawn. Every time they damage an enemy, their Crimson Madness level increases. This makes them more powerful, but also affects their sanity. The more enemies you defeat, the longer your mercenary will need to recover in town.

Its like getting a wedgie from a bully, except the bully doesnt know that you peg yourself daily and that you are into stuff going up yo butt, then you start making one of those faces that the bully mistakes for a face of discomfort n he thinks that you hate this, so he pulls the wedgie even harder, and you blow the biggest best load of your life. then the bully realizes whats going on n it turns out that he is also an avid pegger too n yall become good friends, end up marrying each other's sisters and becoming brothers-in law and secretly peg each other at family events for the next 30 years and counting.

Initial early access has less content and mechanics than similar types (Rogue : Genesia, Soulstone, Spellbook Demonslayers, etc). Giving a thumbs up since it just released and we will see where new content takes this game. As of now; its a very bare bones Vampire Survivor with pretty slow progression mechanics.

Haven't played much and only tried the one class (Huscarl) but it's off to a great start! I was playing on the Steam Deck too and it worked fine. Promising beginning, I like the challenges mechanic where you only stay in a level until you've completed the challenges then you get your rewards and go back to town to spend them. Looking forward to seeing how it develops!

I really like this game, and it has to potential to be as good and perhaps even better than Vampire Survivors.. But right now, there is a super annoying like 5 second long music track that just loops over and over and over and becomes super annoying. Yes, you can turn the music all the way down to 0, but I do like some good music that fits the game. The best solution for this game is for the developer to change that BS out for some real music as in a real song that fits his game. Other than that, the ray attacks are super bizarre looking as they aren't connected to your character. Not a huge thing, but it just makes this game look really weird and even "rushed", when it's really a pretty damn good game from my first impressions. The art, the power-up and attack choices are all very well done here. This game is sooo close to being a GREAT game for just the small $3 asking price here on launch day. As it is, I give this game a 7 out of 10 score and ask the developer to make his game batter than his launch day competitor, another similar 'Vampire Survivor' style indie game that launched the same day here on Steam: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=murZb6q_rrk Recommended. I challenged both of these indie developers in this video above to try and beat out the other game. Let's see who puts out the most and best updates in the coming days and weeks!

I'm always tempted to give a positive review if there's good bones to a game, but here we have a market oversaturated with swarm survival games. So what does this game bring to it that others don't? Well, nothing really. It's still in development so that could change, but as of right now you collect resources to unlock permanent upgrades for your weapons, which number around 9-10. Very low compared to many swarm survival games, as the different combinations are what make these games fun. If I combine my guns with birds, my gun now shoots flaming birds kinda stuff. None of that here yet. I'd wishlist it and watch it, unless you can afford to throw away $3. If you can, then man def worth it. That said, I reached endgame of current content in the time listed above and I'm now just waiting on more content to drop.

Having played like 20 of these, this was maybe the most average out of all of them. It has nice new elements of progression. But it feels incredibly grindy and overtly linear.

Crimson Dawn is a fun Vampire Survivors-like that is still very much in the early stages. Don't buy this now if you're expecting a fleshed out game. But still I highly recommend experiencing the current state of the game given the price is very reasonable.

Great game, gives a lot of Vampire Survivors vibes, but that what i was looking for :D Game has different and cool features. There are some problems with the game, but they're gonna be fixed up soon i believe since it's still in early access. Overall, i really liked this game and i can see myself sinking many hours into it:D Buy it, won't be disappointed ;)
