  This is definitely worth getting. They hit harder and they have more health. They are summoned in addition to the number of dwarves you are eligible for your level. They each bring something different to the table with their abilities. Some are more useful than others, but you can more or less pick with one you want. The longer you play, the more are unlocked. The order is random. Theoretically you can have them all, but I've never played a game that long.

  DLC of dubious quality. But it greatly simplifies the game and is worth the money.

  It's been a long time since it's release, but I'd say it's now better since the big bugs related to the heroes have been patched (from what I've seen). If you want powerful dwarves that carry you from Early all the way to End-game, this DLC is for you. This DLC also makes the other DLCs much easier. If you want to know which one is the best to get in early game, it's Burner, Nostradwarvus and Barry. WARNING: This is probably my first review, so take all of this with a lot of salt.

  Your heroes can die. Heroes can't be resurrected and their statues can't be rebuilt. They can't be purchased again at the store until you level up again, or perhaps never again. On a long enough timeline you are likely to lose all of your heroes permanently. Don't bother with this DLC until they improve this system. I have almost 1000 hours in game, but have only played the heroes DLC once. I looked like a great idea, but this one problem is a deal breaker for me.

  Sorry, I can't recommend this until they fix it. I'm tired of babysitting one of my three current heroes because he freezes up when in battle and just keeps taking damage. I'm not using any mods. Also, I can't craft some items even though they're unlocked.

  Heros DLC So, I've only started playing with this. I have 3 of the heroes so far. Paladin - Gives some sort of buff to everyone in range. Strong fighter. Robot - Flies. Moves as fast as a train. Mage - This guy is OP (in a good way). Can create teleports and cast mass retrieve loot spells. I don't think it draws from your mana poot but not positive. This character is a major quality of life improver. IE: I ask people to attack an enemy...he teleports there, and everyone jumps through the portal behind him, and during some invasions I've seen him do mass looting spell during combat. Some of the heroes can be equipped with an axe or mining pick, some don't need any gear, and most have high/max skills in multiple abilities. AI in general seems slightly improved, still the occasional dopey move (ie: my post yesterday) but overall, if you're a long-time player these heroes will make your game a lot easier, without being ridiculously OP (they cost a lot of gold...a lot. Then you have to make them.)

  Bought this DLC in the release date. Can't recommend it because there are bugs when no heroes come from the portal. I started a new game, accumulated 70 coins for 3 heroes, placed their statues and none of those heroes came from the portal. I can't destroy those statues or remove somehow to replace them. There is no point in this DLC if you can't summon heroes and refund your coins from the market. Very disappointed. I uploaded a video on YouTube with proofs: https://youtu.be/QolA5MQ9D38

  Craft The World – Heroes Review The Gem that just keeps on giving! Please note that this Review may contain spoilers from the Base game Some key points that this game add on has to offer: 1. Heroes Dwarfs with incredible power Replayability: Craft the World is all about building up what you have or trying out new ideas and concepts. Solo or with friends, there is no end to the fun that this game has to offer. MGR Gaming’s Conclusions: The Heroes DLC introduces a powerful and game changing mechanic to the game. As you play and level up past level 6, the recipes for these new Heroes will appear in the shop for purchase. Once purchased you can craft the statues for these new Heroes. Once crafted, you can place it anywhere on the map, once done, that Hero will emerge from the portal. There are nine different Heroes that can be summoned at this stage. Four melee warriors who also have unique passive auras that enhances your dwarves in close proximity to the Hero. There are two ranged support Heroes that heals your dwarves. We have a battlemage that sows destruction on all who would dare attack you. Then we have two potent worker Heroes who excels at extraction, collection and production tasks. The DLC sells for a steal of a price, and although it doesn’t add much in terms of new content or even a new map, what it does offer is quite a brilliant add on nonetheless. These new Heroes will truly excel in your lengthier runs where portal monsters are insanely tough. They will also ease your play when starting a new world. Other than that, we buy these DLC’s to support the developers, they have gone above and beyond to ensure our Craft the World experience is fun and never ending.
