  DO NOT BUY THIS GAME, any thing over standard edition can not be refunded and the devs have resorted to stealing money to sell this crap game. The game is good, racing feels good but i mean wtf is this locking stuff behind pay walls?? Like you can buy a certain number of drivers which you gain by what edition you bought, but you also have to unlock them in game before this is possible. Then add in you can make your cart or vehicle faster but this also takes currency?? What a huge letdown and cashgrab by the devs.. wanna charge people to steer the vehicle right instead of left next? Or where iss the option to just take money out my account for every minute i play?? This should be a sueable offense, what kinda sketchy devs/publishers list a game then resort to not refunding it when a person dislikes their game?? I wish the same karma for the devs/publishers that people steal money from them for a pile of shit.

  This game could be fun many aspects of it are but the core systems are completely set up for pay to win shenanigans. Characters all require shards to rank up from blind boxes or extremely limited progression rewards. The blind box gives you 1-3 shards iv only gotten 1 and it requires 20 to hit rank 2 alone, each character goes up to rank 5. Each rank gives upgrades to your weapons from boxes and rank 2 unlocks your characters ability. The balance is also terrible season 1 is Monster inc focused and Mike Wazowski is easy to get to rank 2-3 and is extremely broken his ult summons the door from the movies if he drives in he gets a massive boost ahead allowing him to snowball any time he can get in first. I wish I could refund honestly haven't been this frustrated in a game in years, save your money if all these systems open up for paying once f2p launches this is gonna be a massive whale game.

  The characters and racing mechanics are extremely fun. Every character has separate abilities and racing styles, and each course has multiple different track layouts, both of which provide for tons of variety. If youre not hung up on grinding for every cosmetic item known to mankind and just enjoy the gameplay, you'll have a great time. When playing local games (ie. Couch play with friends, the main reason to play a racing game like this imo,) all the characters are already unlocked, so you dont even need to grind em. The soundtrack is absolutely killer. Each course has epic remixes of the songs from the movie it's based on. I found myself in a constant state of hype listening to them while speeding around the tracks. Pretty much all of the negative reviews are based on the price model. The actual racing, character, and gameplay mechanics are fantastic. So just enjoy the ride without worrying about whether or not your licence plate is purple or red, and you'll find this to be a truly fun racing game.

  Going from the original snes mario kart to this will make you wonder what has happened to mankind. This is not a game. This is a series menus - LOTS of menus - that eventually allows the player into 10 distinct race tracks. After you race through the 10 tracks, the game will push you into multi-hour loops required just to unlock other characters. And that's notwithstanding the layers and layers of economies Gameloft has dumped into the formula. While there is some skill involved, the game carefully gates you behind 5-level increments... and you're looking at 2 hours of gameplay to push through each increment. This is a set of menus designed to trap young players into gameplay loops. It's also non-refundable on steam because it's sold as a DLC. The kart racing mechanics here are good and this is on par with the likes of Sonic Racing games. Thus no need to even bother with this game, especially when competitor games have 2x more tracks. And SHAME on Gameloft for cranking on this game for years only to crap out 10 tracks and a heavily monetized model. Is this best your dev teams can do, Gameloft? Probably so, being managed by such a greedy pub!

  Wait for this to go free-to-play if you really want to try this. The gameplay is great, and while the ranked multiplayer mode is probably pay-to-win, the regulated multiplayer mode thankfully isn't. Sadly, the confusing menus, microtransactions, multiple in-game currencies and grind really bog down the overall experience.

  The way they have set up this download is intended to scam people. You cannot request a refund because the game is "free" but requires a non-refundable DLC to play it. Steam will not refund you for a DLC. This should be unacceptable, but they refuse to help when I contacted them. This game is boring, and now I'm stuck with it and unable to get a refund. The other platform beginning with E lets you refund... buy it there instead!

  Unfortunately, I am so disappointed with the current state of the game. I rushed with the purchase, cause I needed a split screen racing game, and this looked really nice. First of all, there are small improvements in comparison with beta, roster is way to small and there is small number of tracks. Sense of speed is criminal, like you are driving 150km/h and I am feeling the car is barely moving, even with boost. Upgrading the characters and crew members....I mean I don't want to talk it. But here is small example: You need 40 shards to upgrade your driver, you buy few loot boxes, ~TA DAAAAA~ you get shards...I mean SHARD, ONE SHARD in one box. That's it. I know it's Early Access, but if you want money Gameloft, make the game worth it. Currently, I regret spending money on this.
