About the Game

Mass Transit brings several new systems into play to help citizens traverse their towns in speed and style. Commuters can now get around on water, up high mountain peaks, and even through the sky thanks to the addition of ferries, monorails, cable cars, and blimps.

Along with new transit service buildings, mass transit hubs where lines can exchange passengers, new scenarios, new landmarks, and new road types, urban planners now have more options than ever to add unique style and personality to their growing cities.

Key Features:

Transportation Transformed

Add new transit options to your city, and add wealth to your city’s income! Let your citizens get across town in ferries, blimps, cable cars, and monorails!

Connect your City

New mass transit hubs can bring all of your services together. Mass Transit allows you to let citizens change rail lines in one building, hop from the bus onto the ferry, or even find their way through a sprawling monorail-train-metro station.

Explore a set of new challenge scenarios focused on fixing traffic problems and adding new transit systems. New road types, bridges and canals add variety to your city, and new ways to solve its challenges. Become an expert in traffic flow, and then use that knowledge to improve your personal city!

INFO: CHECK THIS REDDIT THREAD FOR MOD COMPATIBILITY: https://www.reddit.com/r/CitiesSkylines/comments/6bw5kf/all_mods_workingnot_working/ A great DLC and for traffic & infrastructure aficionados like me (300+ hours in CS), an absolute must-have. It works well both on Winter as well as Normal maps. The free patch also includes a bunch of neat things like the ability to zoom out much, much further than before. Road names are discreetly displayed and don't detract from the visuals. Traffic Manager, an addon I needed to enjoy the game, is now basically baked into the game itself. You can see individual train stops & paths of different types of citizens for all road segments. Also a thumbs up for the good mod compatibility. I have 400-500 mods and assets, and I only had to unsubscribe from a couple. Most of my savegames still work. I think if you have been playing CS for reasons other than transport, traffic, infrastructure, you might be thinking that £10.49 is a steep price. But the ability to handle all the traffic problems yourself, akin to SimCity4's traffic addon makes it worth it for anyone who builds large cities.

They try and sell this expansion on the bells and wistles like the monorail, ferry's and blimps but the real win here is the additions and improvements to the games existing assets. There are a whole bunch of new road types, a revamped transit interface that shows detailed line management information with real time updates that's still simple to interpret and now interact with. Building roads and manipulating them has made multiple popular mods obsolete as the road tool finally has "snap to" options that make building road networks much easier (with multiple snap to options). You can even adjust the intersections to either stop signs or lights. The routing system on roads is much improved with vehicles picking the proper lanes based on function and availibility (sort of... at least it's better than the original release). The monorail, blimp, ferry and lifts are just the icing on the cake.

I started a new city for the Mass Transit DLC. It's only been a few hours and I can already tell this is a huge improvment for the game's infamous problems with traffic management. Being able to now choose exactly where to place stop signs at an intersection allows you to prioritize one road's right-of-way over the other's. This simple addition alone is quite literally a game changer, but there are also a few new road types to use as well, giving you a little more flexiblity in road planning. But don't assume all of your city's traffic woes will just magicly become a thing of the past! As your city grows, you will still need to make adjustments, and understanding how to best build intersections and interchanges in relation to zoning is still key to this. To help you make decisions, you can now see mapped out routs for different vehicles, helping you quickly spot the reason your service vehicles are taking so long to get where they need to go. Aside from now being able to control intersections, the best building practives to play the game by still apply. The difference is that is now much easier to see what the problems are and what needs to be done to fix them.

Almost all my frustration with this game came from traffic management. This DLC makes it so much easier to understand the where and why of your city's traffic. Sure, you could get all this content for free with mods. But this will always be supported, will probably never crash your game and rest assured, it will be patched if it does. It's an older title, but this is the best city sim on the market. If you're still playing vanilla or just bought this game on sale, this is totally worth the $15. 10/10 QOL much improved

Basically, they fixed the biggest problem with the game, which was the nucleus of almost all other problems: Traffic. Traffic caused death spirals. Traffic made managing garbage silly. Lack of traffic planning made the simplistic, cpu-efficient CiMs behave in moronic ways. Now you have the tools at hand to prevent all of this, without exploits or mods, with the only real downside being an uptick in road micromanagement. And something tells me that as a prospective buyer of a DLC for Cities: Skylines, you're not overly concerned with micromanagement. I have seen some complaints about stability, but I haven't experienced any crashes or bugs myself. Not saying it doesn't happen to others or that they're doing something wrong, but those issues are apparently not universal.

The Pros : - The idea was wonderful to me. I really love the new transports and they are quite good made. Luckly, in my case, they use these possiblities (except if I put metros around the city), but still cool features. I love this expansion and recommend it ONLY, if you love this game. The Cons : - It's a shame, that metros received neither upgrades nor changes (like overground lines). - As an expansion, I expected to be able to have more options of changing a vehicle of a line (bus = small buses, articulated buses or double-floor buses) and maybe the possibility of special lines (for tourism with historic vehicles or buses for school service). I expected more things, but writing here will only make my review long and boring (?). The prices should be a bit lower for what it brings. My last reviews was only for the contents and new features, but for the prices... (at least I love this game, but pricing should be better, it's not horrible for me). For the content, that this expansion brings, I recommend to wait for a sale. I would only pay full price, if at least the two points above (plus a few other points, that I didn't mention here) was on it. The reason, I payed full price is because I couldn't wait :P (but seriously, wait for sale) * (7/10) - Wonderful new Ideas, lack of a few points, that could make the DLC even better.
