BioShock Infinite Features

Indebted to the wrong people, with his life on the line, veteran of the U.S. Cavalry and now hired gun, Booker DeWitt has only one opportunity to wipe his slate clean. He must rescue Elizabeth, a mysterious girl imprisoned since childhood and locked up in the flying city of Columbia. Forced to trust one another, Booker and Elizabeth form a powerful bond during their daring escape. Together, they learn to harness an expanding arsenal of weapons and abilities, as they fight on zeppelins in the clouds, along high-speed Sky-Lines, and down in the streets of Columbia, all while surviving the threats of the air-city and uncovering its dark secret.

Key Features

  • The City in the Sky – Leave the depths of Rapture to soar among the clouds of Columbia. A technological marvel, the flying city is a beautiful and vibrant world that holds a very dark secret.

  • Unlikely Mission – Set in 1912, hired gun Booker DeWitt must rescue a mysterious girl from the sky-city of Columbia or never leave it alive.

  • Whip, Zip, and Kill – Turn the city’s Sky-Lines into weaponized roller coasters as you zip through the flying city and dish out fatal hands-on punishment.

  • Tear Through Time – Open Tears in time and space to shape the battlefield and turn the tide in combat by pulling weapons, turrets, and other resources out of thin air.

  • Vigorous Powers – Throw explosive fireballs, shoot lightning, and release murders of crows as devastatingly powerful Vigors surge through your body to be unleashed against all that oppose you.

  • Custom Combat Experience – With deadly weapons in one hand, powerful Vigors in the other, and the ability to open Tears in time and space, fight your own way through the floating city of Columbia to rescue Elizabeth and reach freedom.

  • 1999 Mode – Upon finishing BioShock Infinite, the player can unlock a game mode called “1999 Mode” that gives experienced players a taste of the kind of design and balance that hardcore gamers enjoyed back in the 20th century.

My life was good until this game destroyed half my soul

Ruined by the 2K launcher update. What was the purpose of adding it to a game they made almost a decade ago, literally shitting on our faces with this.

The game is great, but ruined by the random inclusion of 2K launcher and DRM with today's update. REMOVE IT NOW, 2K!! It's a single player game that's over 10 years old, ffs!

BYPASS THE 2K LAUNCHER HERE: -> Your Drive the game is installed on -> Steam -> steamapps -> common -> BioShock Infinite -> Binaries -> Win32 -> BioShockInfinite.exe So the Game is fun, pretty and replayable! ...is what I would have said, if not for the new datafishing attempt of 2K! 2K added a launcher to our games and -if you don't know how to bypass- can make the game give us an ERROR message instead of fun. The Error comes to show, if Bioshock is not installed on the same drive as Steam itself. There is NO reason to add a Launcher, after 9 1/2 years (other than our sweet Data maybe)! It will decrease your drive space by 1GB tho... I thought, 2K gave something to us, so I will make a Review as my sign of gratitude! -Hope this was helpful to my fellow Gamers-

More or less everything I liked about the first two Bioshock games is gone. Every step forward demands two steps back. I also feel that the game itself has been ground down to pander to the lowest of our denominators. Reduce and simplify everything, and then dress it up with a pretentious wet fart of a story to grant the illusion of depth. Press F to interact and watch the game play itself for you. Now everyone can partake in the video gamings! Biochock 1 and 2 gave us a large arsenal of varied and unique weapons, Infinite takes all that away in place of a more generic- or "modern" loadout with what feels like a half dozen reskins of an assault rifle. The developers must have thought 10 or so weapons was simply too much fun, so now you can only carry two at once. Only having two weapons at any given time makes a nightmare for balancing and upgrading, when all upgrading is specific to each individual weapon. Plasmids, particularly telekenesis, scout, and security command, are replaced with Vigors. The vast majority of said Vigors are variations of a stun spell, with its only variables being damage, cost, and visual flair. I simply can not understand why you would take something that worked so well in the previous game, and then reduce it to "press mouse button 2 to drain blue bar and stun enemy for an arbitrary amount of time". No longer can I warp behind enemy lines, or use telekenesis to build small forts and cover. Instead, if I press F to interact when the game occasionally lets me, I might be given the option of an ammo crate or some med kits. Speaking of, the developers must have thought that having to manage med kits and mana kits on the fly was too demanding of a process for the average gamer, so now you are simply given a ridiculous amount of health and mana, and have to scout the map for kits. Oh, and occasionally the vapid companion, Elizabeth, will randomly toss you health and ammo, which you again have to "press F to interact" to receive. Lastly, the story and world of Bioshock was, at least to me, completely ruined. Bioshock 1 and 2 presented the dystopia of Rapture. It drew some analogies to real life anarcho capitalism and what effects, positive or negative, that it might have on a society. Aside from the opening of Bioshock 1, it was never really in your face either, just an interesting back drop to the ongoing plot. I should also note that the world of Bioshock 1 and 2 never really deviated that far from science fiction, disregarding the origin of ADAM. Bioshock Infinite, on the other hand, becomes full blown, goofy fantasy. Columbia is a city far up in the sky that is made possible with QUANTUM SUSPENSION. In other words, the world is justified through Quantum Woo, and prays the player pays no more mind to it. It is patently ridiculous and is made even more so when the game is supposed to take place in an alternate-history 1912 America. Because it is a Bioshock sequel, it must obviously have some social commentary to boot, right? What social issue/system/structure would plausibly be relevant in a bland first person shooter set in a superscience utopia of a floating sky city? Why, Racism, of course! And to make it more unfortunate, it never goes any deeper than: Evil christian whitey did the oppression on the colored peoples! It does not make much sense and it gets increasingly more silly as you play. The developers must have noticed this too, as the RACISM undertone gets dropped completely about halfway through the story, replaced with "ideological dogma bad". At the end of the day, none of your choices mattered, either, because Bioshock Infinite ends up being about the "Many Worlds Theory". Yes, it is indeed one of those games. At no point does the game deeply explore neither racism, corruption, many worlds, quantum science or even physics on its own, as these concepts only exist to veil a nonsensical and bland plot, and a profoundly inept story. If you like to press F to interact with video game, press mouse 1 to do the shootie, and press mouse 2 to do the magic gaming, Bioshock Infinite is the right choice for you (not that the combat itself ever gets good). And do not worry, for if you ever get distracted from juggling more than 1 thought at once in your head, game will do the key jangle with hot damsel in distress cutie, or EPIC combat music that plays every time you enter a fight. And if you ever start thinking that this game is not what its hyped up to be, we will provide you with mind-boggling, nigh-hypnotizing phrases like QUANTUM, PERPETUAL, INFINITE. What a fucking tragic joke of a game to end the franchise on. 4 genital warts / 10

While the graphics aren't the most realistic there are, for a game from 2013 it looks really good. Gameplay wise we've got new plasmids (Vigors as they are called here), some have the similar mechanics with the ones from B1, for example the crows and the bees, but it is always cool to try new things and combinations. The story is full of plot twists that I could've never have seen coming, and seeing Rapture once again on the DLC was amazing, granted is not the same areas but it still got that apocalyptic and claustrophobic vibe, love it. I really liked the way it connected everything to Jack too, wasn't expecting that. 100% recommended and of course, buy it along with Bioshock 1 and 2, amazing games too!

few quirks here and there but purely due to the age of the game and whoever handles it nowadays like the 2k launcher? and giving me all the tips every single time i load the game. Ignore these things and this game is really good. The story and ending really got to me and had me like "what the fuck??" making me recall what happened earlier in the game that makes more sense now. 8/10 ending left me speechless for 3 minutes
