A Quiver of Crows Features

A difficult twin-stick shmup set in a grim world cursed by demons and ghouls.

Frantic Battles in a Grim World

  • Unlike most shmups, this world is made up of flesh, bones, and dirt instead of the common rigid objects such as ships set in space.

  • Each enemy type has a unique set of behaviors.

  • Most foes do not follow preset patterns. Instead, they try to hunt you down.

  • Some enemies fly in close for melee combat. Others will shoot from a far away range.

Co-op Twin-Stick Action

  • The game blends the insanity of shmups with the free range of motion of twin-stick shooters.

  • Find a friend. Find a couch. Have tons of fun with the optional single-screen couch co-op!

Upgradeable Weapons, Bombs, and Shields

  • Collect and enhance a variety of weapons. Influenced by traditional shmups, watch as your weapons’ firing trajectory and pattern change with each upgrade.

  • From heat seeking quills to things that go BOOM, collect them all and use them to crush your foes!

  • Upgrade your shields to withstand relentless attacks.

Play on Windows, Mac, & Linux

  • Best played with a twin-stick controller. Steer with the left stick, aim with the right.

  • Never fear! You can also use your keyboard and mouse.

Visually: it is great. The controls are smoother and unlike any other twin-stick i have played. But, there is just something about the enemies. they are challenging and provide entertainment, but just not the lasting entertainment that i would have thought this game capable of. so, while i give it a thumbs up...it has really only just passed the barr.

Super hard but strangely addictive (when I don't rage-quit - lol). I highly recommend playing this with the xbox controller. Great way to improve your reflexes! Some pretty interesting worlds and atmosphere - always looking forward to the next level.

A Quiver of Crows game. You, as a flying being, 'a crow', shooting with some lasers into some relentless ever-respawning undeads of various sorts. Now, I love the challenge in the games. But as of this one... the real challenge is not about managing that imbalanced 2d bullet hell type shooter. It's about finding the reasons to do so. I saw some players who actually vocalized they like this atmosphere of decadence and death. But that 'atmosphere of dance macabre' is actually the only 'positive' thing that is on the plate. Sure, the visuals are decent, for a side-scroller, and there is some 'advanced' physics of flying bones, distracting you and making you waste some of your shots. But that's about it. No reward, not a hint of what's going on... And yeah, total unfairness of the fight. I just wonder, how many players actually played it like it was supposed to by its authors? Steam statistics cannot be really trusted, since many players use SAM or something like this... And even the video of the game from the store page is looking like a rigged one in scenes of actual gameplay because that crow of yours is supposed to lose heaps of health and with that - heaps of DPS from those lasers, with every hit. Well, looking at reviews, there are at least some people who actually liked it, and the game's site page is still working, for about 5 years already. Maybe you'll like it in the end. Let my review not stop you from trying. But, as for me, I'll side with those guys who didn't get it. I'm not fond of the aesthetics of death and decay, I don't like it when someone spits in my face and saying something like the description of this game, 'have tons of fun'. My mark for this product is 4/10. Sure, the visuals are not bad... but other technical aspects are far from being good ones, and in general, it's still looking like a flash browser game for 5 minutes of your time - if you remember those. Except this one goes a bit longer. But why? What for? Quoth the Raven «Nevermore.»
