The story is good, but they are some big flaws. The big one would be the fact that you can't skip the dialogue. There's also another flaw once you reach the chapter 8 stage. At the log 8 device there's a huge elevator with a mechanism nearby. I repeat do not press that mechanism. If you press it and make it go all the way down, make sure you move it back up. If it stays down and you leave that area, you won't be able to complete chapter 8 at all. I'm now stuck at this point and I can't do anything about it It's hard to explain without visuals. Edit: Now I can't even replay the other stages. I can only play stage 8 and of course I'm stuck there. Just can't recommend this game, I'm sure the ending is marvelous, too bad I'll never see it. Another Edit: This game won't even uninstall right. When I uninstall and reinstall it automatically teleports me to stage 8. I'm basically trapped in a weird video game limbo. Final Edit: I basically had to delete my cloud save, then uninstall the game again in order to start at the very beginning. So I'm playing this game twice just to see the ending. I can't possibly recommend this game but hopefully nobody else goes through what I went through Final, Final Edit: The game is a roller coaster of emotions, especially if you get softlocked but overall the story pushes this game to a recommend even with the issues.I finally beat the game today and I loved what I saw. Anyway, hopefully nobody else goes through what I went through but just a heads up, there's a possibility of getting softlocked in this game and potentially restarting the game. I know my situation might of been rare but regardless I made a tutorial on getting out of being softlocked using sav files. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PrXyyK6x7WE

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE GAME. Fantastic game, very fun and enjoyable puzzle platformer that isn't too difficult. Lets go in depth on what i do and don't like about the game, going by chapter then going into an overall review. Chapter 1. Solid first chapter, really sets in the dread with the alternate world and gets you to be engrossed in its story. Chapter 2. While I've said in the past i don't like the fire/ice theme of certain games, this one does it quite well. Ice physics are a bit fucky but fun nonetheless. Chapter 3. Getting the player used to a mechanic for 2 chapters and then seeing what puzzles you can make without it for an entire chapter is something i didn't expect this game to do so well. I would still like to know what the other universe of chapter 3 is though. Chapter 4. I feel like i skipped a chapter here, apologies if i did, call me stupid if i didn't. More dread! This area has wonderful lore but unfortunately from a gameplay perspective the only thing it brings to the table is the interferences which are fun honestly. Chapter 5. I didn't like this one as much. The poison mechanic is a bit odd and anxiety inducing but i wanted more stuff to do with the water honestly. Swamp levels are never usually the best anyway. Chapter 6. Ohhhhh boy here we go. Coming directly off of a main antagonist's tragic demise is a fantastic chapter with a few character arcs and when the puzzles turn more into fun than difficult. Breaking Everett out of prison is a fun premise for a level and is even done without a stealth section. Chapter 7. Military base! Wow this chapter is so much fun. The other universe in this chapter being reversed gravity allows for a lot of fun movement, albeit you can and will die to it a lot. Also being the last "difficult" chapter having a couple mechanic callbacks is fun. Also great humor and character development in this chapter as a whole. Chapter 8. While not exactly being the most fun to explore, chapter 8 has a lot of lore reveals on who Everett is and why we were even on this journey in the first place. Ez's logs and Everett's diary entries are a fantastic look into who the characters are, and the tapes, albeit with no footage, are very cute and i like them a lot. Chapter 9. While more of a walking simulator than a chapter, its alright i guess. Fairly mysterious main ending and i haven't gotten the alternate ending yet but I'm sure its more of the same if its even in this chapter. No new mechanics in this chapter besides the ticking that changes the world which gets sort of annoying at best. Overall review. Fantastic game for a laugh, has a solid tidbit of horror included, wonderful worldbuilding, amazing characters, beautiful artstyle, my only issue is a couple of the mechanics which i can ignore because the rest of the game is wonderful. 9/10.

It's neat/good but I could never see this as great. Maybe if this came out a decade ago I would have thought otherwise for a 2D platformer but at this point in our shared existence, new and captivating/intriguing games are exceedingly rare. To be clear, I don't regret my full price purchase and I would gift this to a friend. I just am too "blunted" to everything life has to offer so any allure something has quickly goes away for me. Essentially: the puzzles are good, has some humor and the story is 5-6/10 ie fine. Chapter 7 is the best in terms of puzzles/shenanigans. Though I'm pretty emotionally dead, the ending was decently moving. *Related to that: if you're a fan of Rick and Morty in a way this complements it.

OK the story is decent, with some great comedic moments and a few cool dark touches early on, but the actual puzzles & gameplay are glacially slow and tedious to play, and the dialogue becomes absolute waffle during the final chapter. A shame.

Excellent narrative platform and puzzle game. With a good sense of humor, I found several easter eggs of characters from other places (anime or another work). The story is a mix of humor and some really dark themes, which really draws you into the story. It took me about 14 hours to finish it 2 times and getting all the achievements. The game is a combination of platform and puzzles that are not difficult so as not to overshadow the story. It's worth the price and the time to play it, an enjoyable experience overall. I hope they make a sequel.

I played the demo and was captivated by the story and the funny dialogs. Breaking the 4th wall at the end of the demo won me over. Even though I found the puzzles rather slow and boring, I bought the game. The game remains fun for a while, but later becomes more serious and dark, which I liked. Although the 4th wall is never broken again. The puzzles, however, continue to be slow and boring. In the end, I was disappointed with the last two chapters and the big reveal, which wasn't really conclusive to me. Maybe it's the German translation, because some words were probably not translated appropriately. Also, some dialogues are longer than three lines and don't fit in the text box, which bothers me a lot. There are also some punctuation errors like missing spaces and double commas. I would recommend the game for its overall story and humor, but not for the ending or puzzles.

OK... first off, if you hate puzzles (like me) this isn't your typical puzzle platformer. I think it's important you know this in case that tag throws you off. Yes, this game is nothing but puzzles, but they're done in such a unique and clever way... that I never got frustrated, overwhelmed or bored with them. Now... if you're looking for difficult puzzles... this game is light in that area. I didn't have to think much to solve them. However; despite that... they're still a blast. STORY: Is amazing. Great dialogue, the premise is interesting, and the characters (even the "bad" guys) have their own fun personalities that are very likable. I haven't met a single character that I've disliked. While the game does give a disclaimer at the beginning about how it contains violence, grief, and death... it's still done in a less morbid way. It's not overly violent or bloody... and the game does well to balance the "happy" universes from the "depressing." If darker themes get you down... there are a lot of bright, colorful, and humorous moments, as well, to help break up that monotony. I'd even say the "happier" moments are more prominent than the darker. TIME MANIPULATION: This is the part that's really interesting and what got me hooked. Each world you visit has a less savory alternate universe. Traveling back and forth with the press of a button is really fun. Not just because of the unique puzzles they incorporate with this feature... but just to see the details on each map. They did a fantastic job making the alternate universes match with subtle (and sometimes drastic) differences. Everything is placed so well, and there are things to discover in each universe per level. PUZZLE PLATFORMER: I tend to HATE puzzle games. I see the word "puzzle" as a tag... and I immediately skip that title. I'm not great at solving them and tend to take longer than most players. I just don't have the patience and prefer action platformers. However; this game had a free demo, so I figured... why not, and I wasn't disappointed. Yes, this game is filled with puzzles... and there's no action or combat, but the puzzles are light, fun, and each level adds new mechanics that keeps them fresh and interesting. Plus... the game does a great job breaking them up with exploration, story, and secrets. MUSIC: OK, so the music is great. It sounds good and fits every map and theme. However; the part I find extremely impressive is how they incorporated it into the multiverses and traveling back and forth. Each level has two universes you can bounce between. The music is similar but has minor differences that helps match the unique theme of each universe. It's played on the same track, so when you go to the other... it changes slightly but continues, on a continuous loop. While many might not pay much attention to this... I noticed it right away and was really impressed with it. MINOR DETAILS: While this isn't important to many... it does require time and effort from the developers, so I wanted to give a shout out to this category. This game is full of minor details that really brings the game and characters to life. The devs took time to give each character different animations and sprites to help display various emotions during cut scenes. The main character, for example... when pulling a switch will fall over and have to stand back up. If you walk up to a ledge, he balances on one foot, if you stop suddenly and turn around... he scoots along with a little sound effect... while this isn't overly important... it's still a lot of extra work and detail the devs chose to put into their game, and I really respect them for that! A lot of LOVE went into this project! OVERALL: That's it... I wanted to write this review because I think it's important for those that dislike puzzles, like me, to not let that sway your decision. Despite that... I somehow loved every moment of this game! If you're still unsure... try the free demo. I guarantee you'll buy the game after you do :-)

Fun puzzle platformer with puzzles that aren't too too easy but not too obvious - makes for some nice casual gameplay. The pixel art and animations are done very well. There is a tat too much dialogue to my taste, and unfortunately you can't skip any of it. The trigger warning at the start of the game is also a bit over the top.
