  I am a classically trained trombonist (both tenor and bass) with 27 years of experience. I have had the great privilege to play in wind ensembles and philharmonic orchestras that have performed pieces containing many of the most famous and recognizable trombone excerpts and solos; works by composers such as Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Berstein, Copland, Dvořák, Saint-Saëns, Gershwin, Wagner, Ravel, Brahms, Mussorgsky, Rossini, Kodály, Borodin, Prokofiev, Berlioz, Marquez, and Shostakovich. You must believe me when I tell you that this is not just a rhythm game. This is a simulation. All the countless hours spent on practice, lessons, sectionals, and rehearsals were made redundant with Trombone Champ. It's real. All of it. The strobe lights. The "unintentional" glissandi. The conductor's disapproving gaze (implied by default). The raucous applause. The thinly-veiled antagonism of all other instruments. The baboons. ESPECIALLY the baboons. However, for all of Trombone Champ's incredible attention to detail and commitment to the accuracy of the trombone experience, it unfortunately lacks a way to train the user in the most important trombone skill of all, practiced over thousands of rehearsals sitting and listening to the strings, horns, woodwinds, and percussion play while you don't: counting tacet bars correctly before your next entrance. If they can somehow add that in, this simulation would truly be complete.

  I owe this game a solid thumbs up because I simply want other people to buy it and enjoy it. It was great for the short time I had it but unfortunately I was experiencing motion sickness from it. That's a negative on me, not the game. Nothing needs to change in the game as far as I'm concerned. So after 17 years on Steam, I had to make my first refund request... I'm sorry dev. And if you're a potential buyer also worried about motion sickness - I can only look through a pair of binoculars for about 5 to 10 seconds before I start getting the woozies. Don't let my review stop you. It's fun.

  This game is like if Theatrythm Final Fantasy and DDR had a baby. Pros + It's oddly polished? It's like this game came out of nowhere and blindsided me + The skill cap on this game is oddly high? I Could actually feel myself improving. WHich i didnt expect + I love the gimmick of just sounding bad and rolling with it + That UI is gorgeous. Props to whoever designed it Cons - Timing can be kind of strict and some songs that have very short notes are difficult to get correct - It's almost exclusively public domain music. WHICH IS FINE.. But im almost certain you could contact other indie games and get some crossover songs. GIMME NECRODANCER AND I PLAY THE SHOPKEEPER PART ON TROMBONE - I got a hot dog as one of my cards. I'm literally shaking rn theres no way a hotdog could even play trombone it doesnt even have hands But yeah. Buy it immediately.
