About the Game

Welcome to Brighton! Join the police force of this fictitious American city and experience the day to day life of a Police Officer. Start with citing violations and giving out parking tickets, then work your way towards shouldering more responsibilities. Be part of the community of Brighton, get to know your neighborhood and handle daily police work to fight crime during your shift. Always be tough, but fair: respect the law and gain more experience to unlock more neighborhoods, districts and duties.

POLICE SIMULATOR: PATROL OFFICERS includes a dynamic traffic system that organically creates the traffic flow and car accidents, as well as emergency situations that can randomly pop up during your shift. Be ready to react at a moment’s notice! In the Open World of Brighton you will be able to choose neighborhoods for your patrols and make sure to keep them safe. Patrol through three unique districts with several neighborhoods each. Every single one has a distinct flair, from the high rises of Downtown to the historical buildings of Brickston.

With progression and unlocking new districts, additional duties will also be revealed. Start with ticketing duty and finding wrongfully parked cars, but be prepared to take care of accidents that may happen right in front of your eyes. In a living and breathing city, many different duties may be encountered. Stop drug deals taking place in the local park, or chase graffiti sprayers illegally tagging walls. Be prepared for anything - even if it is just a car blocking a bus stop. Every duty is your responsibility.

With the Intuition System your police officer will be able to pick up important clues during witness interrogations that could lead you to resolve situations the right way, so make sure you pay attention to everything being said and done. POLICE SIMULATOR: PATROL OFFICERS offers a Simulation mode for experienced players looking for the most authentic experience, as well as a casual mode for those looking for a more relaxing patrol in the streets of Brighton.

  • Traffic system that organically creates accidents, speeding vehicles, traffic jams and other traffic violations like crossing a red light and more

  • Three districts with several neighborhoods, each with their own unique flair

  • Various duties ranging from car accidents, parking regulations, emergency callouts, to finding drug dealers or graffiti sprayers

  • Progression to unlock districts, cars and modes (Standard and Open Patrol)

Considering Aesir and Astrogon had the audacity to release DLC before fixes to base game mechanics, I can never advocate for another gamer to support this greedy behaviour. There are glitches you can find in the first 5 minutes of gameplay that haven't been addressed in over a year since release. What???? In it's current state of exceptional bugginess, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. It feels like an ambitious beta that has another year of development before it should see public eyes. Specifically, calling in a patrol to arrest a detained civilian has a 50% of permanently glitching and never arresting them leaving you empty-handed for possibly 20 minutes of effort. The same goes for tows. Considering how many accidents there are to manage (including your own - whoops), this is ridiculous.

I'll start off with the bad, just so everyone knows what they're getting into. Firstly, there is a lot of missing content. Yes, the game is in early access, but this is VERY early access. As in, entire chunks of the game and mechanics have not been implemented yet. You're basically playing a demo. That doesn't mean it's unplayable, in fact on the contrary, many similar games would stop here and call it finished. But be aware there's still a lot left to add. Second, there are two types of missions, car and foot. Car missions are borderline unplayable at the moment due to horrible vehicle and pedestrian A.I. You can try, but you'll quickly become frustrated by how infuriatingly often pedestrians run right out in front of your vehicle while you're going 65, or the cars in front of you park in the street and refuse to move aside so you can get through. The A.I. is abysmal and the car handling isn't much better. It definitely needs work. Third, the map design is just short of atrocious. As I mentioned before, car missions are hardly worth the trouble, so you'd think foot missions would be much better, right? Well, they are, until you get a mission clear across the zone that you have to run all the way to, on a map with almost zero alleyways or space between buildings, so you have to take massive detours around entire blocks of buildings just to get to the other side, entirely on foot. As for the positive, the good things you've heard about this game are most definitely true. The core game is a well fleshed-out, decently fun police officer simulator that offers enough entertainment to always be busy, but not so much that you'd think you're some kind of action hero. It's always a pleasant surprise when stopping someone for littering turns into a full-on chase through the city, and trying to figure out who's guilty at a crash scene only to realize both drivers are on meth is just as fun as it sounds. If the game continues being regularly updated, as it should be, I'd say it's a no-brainer purchase for anyone that likes the job simulator genre. My fear, however, is it won't receive the updates it needs to be an actually great game. If you're on the fence, check the update history. If it's been updated more than a couple times since this review was posted, pick it up. If not, you know which route it decided to go. And, as always with early access games, you only have yourself to blame if you spend the money and it gets abandoned.

I will post my recent recommendations on the September version of the Beta release. As a real police officer, hopefully some of these could be added. Hopefully this is seen by the developer. I recommend the game because it is interesting and quite immersive at times. It could be an all time great with some really good updates. I will update my review in the future. "Hello Mr. or Mrs. Developer. I love your game, I am on my way to post a positive review. As a police officer, can I give some suggestion to add to realism: Chasing: - You should be able / and required actually, to yell "stop police" as you are running. Also in many jurisdictions you are not permitted to use intermediate force options such as Taser on fleeing individuals. Typically you present that force option when presented a threat queue of some kind, even as simple as them turning to fight. You would not threaten to Taser an individual in the back for example. Also the yelling "stop police" identifies you and makes clear they are under arrest, and being lawfully ordered to stop. Car: - You should be able to roll up and talk to citizens from your car. Often we stop and say "did you see this guy". Could be good for open warrants. You have already addressed driving mechanics in the newest beta here, so thanks for that. MVA/MVI Collision: - You should be required to follow up regarding injuries or at least note them before they leave in ambulance. This typically goes on to the collision report and in the police report. I am also yet to have witnesses standing near by. I would like to walk around the immediate area and maybe find an "independent witness". Disturbance: - I am only a few hours in, but are there any disturbances in this game? Such as two individuals (could be domestic related too). Would be interesting to come across a couple arguing or have a fight develop, then you split the parties and talk to each one. Not sure if this comes up, but a few hours in and I hope this is something to do eventually. Dialogue: - Criminals or "clients" as we say, are rarely as nice as the ones in the game. They need a bit more edge, not cartoon like, but a bit more realism. Also whining about an expired DL ticket is probably not their focus when they just got arrested for fleeing and Theft. Other police officers: - First of all, we need way more NPC models for the officers. Like, waaay more. - I would like to see other police cars driving around. The only other cars I have seen at this point are the transports. Again, not sure if this comes up later, but after hours, I would expect to see some of my buddies on foot patrol, or stopped dealing with other stuff. As dark as it is, officer injured or down scenarios? Sometimes the question is, do I provide aid to my partner or go after the suspect? Would be good to make those calls and deal with some dynamic situations. Overall, for the price tag and concept, I find the game very interesting. I think some of these realism additions could really make this an all time great "sim".

I have played the game a few hours so far, I have over 20 years in public safety in several capacities. My review will be mostly based on realism because technical bugs don't seem way out of line for a game in this stage. The game is fun, even for someone with experience in the field. This game comes so much closer than other to making an actual police simulator. There are a few basic things that are glaring errors I have encountered so far: 1-Cuffing people in the front, this is rarely done 2-Not mirandizing people being arrested 3-Inaccurate field testing for drug impairment 4-No delineation between felony and misdemeanor encounters . A weapons warrant would be a felony and would get a multiple officer gunpoint response. 5-Citations for crashes seem lacking. A rear end collisions would almost always be a following too close citation (or equivalent). 6-Radio contact or at least mobile data terminal usage is lacking. Every encounter is either logged via MDT or radioed in. Don't get me wrong this is a great start and it is early access so it will only get better. I am giving it a positive review because it is so much closer than most similar games. I hope additional accuracy is addressed sooner rather than later as it will be easier to fix the sooner it is changed. So fingers crossed this might be an actually playable police simulator.

UPDATED POST 5/15/22 Holding Cells DEVS PLEASE READ!!! Adding the ability to escort and transport suspects on your own was the addition needed to really make this game feel as it should. That was a major missing element that truly improved the realistic feel of being a police officer. The adjustments made to how suspects are searched as well as how the officer handcuffs feel more authentic as well. I also find being able to cite and ID cuffed suspects is helpful as well. With every update this game gets better and better. There are some other small improvements I would strongly recommend to try to bring in the next update: - Stationary Radar in Unit - Would be GREAT to do speed radar from within the unit so you can effect stops for speeding easier. - Use of spotlight - Would make traffic stops and suspect searches better at night. - ELS remains on after you blip a car - More authentic feel to traffic stops if it did - Fix ELS on Transport Vans - The lights dont function right and the rear light is excessive - Fix traffic flow/ behavior at scenes and have them navigate around you at scenes rather than stop and sit behind you. - Add more crimes and traffic infraction recommend : Fleeing be a crime / Fight in progress / shooting / person with a gun / add car breakin / vandalism - Please add deadly force scenerios!!! Not having to ever use much less even draw your weapon loses a sense of realisim to being a police officer this is a MUST for the nest update!!! - Add other less lethals ( OC Baton) / Tackle suspects UPDATED POST 01/25/22 Keys to City The new update has vastly improved the performance and gameplay. The new lines and faces have helped to expand on the game. Also the update to stopping cars has made it much easier and more realistic. Some of the previous bugs seemed to have been ironed out as well. I would love to see use of the spotlights on patrol vehicles to use on night patrol as well as the ability to tackle fleeing suspects as well as being able to use handcuffs to detain not just arrest. I'm already looking forward to the Holding Cells update!! ORIGINAL POST As a police officer myself I can say that the realism is very close. I can honestly say the developers did their research on law enforcement when making this game. Some minor glitches such as cars vanishing during stops but that’s to be expected in a beta. Improvements: Lights should stay on when blipping a car to pull over. Just have it target the yielding car would be more realistic Make the spotlights useable so at night can search front the car of light up a stopped car. Add SFST tests for DUI walk and turn HGN and one leg stand. Add the ability to call for back up would be nice to have NPC officers. Add lights to the police vans as well as add the use of batons and pepper spray. Overall and awesome game am totally addicted to it!!!

So, I bought this because it was on sale for about $20 and I had it on my wishlist. The reviews were good, but some noted areas that I thought might irritate/bore me. Here is my review after playing about 5 hours: -Gave some parking tickets. -Addressed some jaywalkers and litterers. Day one over. -Gave some parking tickets. -Addressed some jaywalkers and litterers. -One gave me some hassle and issue when I legally searched him. He ran and resisted arrest. I pointed the stun gun at him, but I missed something in the contols and couldn't shoot. He escaped. But, I handled myself in accordance with the law and did a good job (points). But, I hope we meet again. Day two over. Real review: I know this will not be for everyone, especially those with a desire to shoot frequently. But this game does scratch an itch for me and it is kind of addicting. I'm enjoying myself and isn't that what a game should aspire to do? Hopefully my review will help with those still on the fence. This is not a shooter game, but it shouldn't be one, right?
