  A very interesting side-scrolling RTS which keeps adding exciting mechanics to every level. It's definitely worth your while!

  I love this game. It has an old-school feel and reminds of games like Stronghold and Age of War. Would recommend!

  I like all kinds of games, and tried Open the Gates right away today. The environment and drawings are very nice, and the game is easy to play, no need to read tutorials first, just start ;) Although the game is easy to play, it is also challenging. You need to build all kinds of buildings and farms to keep your folks happy, and train soldiers to defend and protect them. Only finished the first level, but I'm afraid I won't stop until I've finished the whole game, it's quite addicting, and I'm looking forward to discover the other levels. Great job of the dev!

  Good job on making this game, it's not only super addictive but also requires some strategy and thinking! Very glad I found it, I could not have spent my money on a better game. Graphics, scenery and sounds make it a very nice and peaceful game to play. Props to the dev!

  Very fun and simple 2D castle builder and I highly recommend. The reason I bought this was because it is similar to an old flash game called "House of Wolves". I suggest playing the demo to see if you like it, and trust me, you will.

  A combination of Stronghold, Kingdoms: New Lands, and those old tower defense flash games all distilled into one game. If you liked either of those games there's a good chance you'll enjoy this one as well. I had a chance to briefly speak with the developer and he came off as a nice enough guy that I bought the game from that alone. It's just a bonus that I happened to enjoy the game and look forward to digging into it more when I have more time on a day off. The backgrounds and art are like looking through an old European picture book and some classical painting as well. Sounds and voice acting are amusing with the occasional one being a might over the top (looks at jester menacingly) but it all works in the end. At the price point it's hard not to give the game a recommend, especially when an it's an indie developer with a unique vision and charm.
