A LOZ: Wind Waker copy with considerably less functionality and polish. I learned that this was originally a mobile game when I was nearly done with it and it makes sense. Playing it on PC shows the stark difference between expectations for mobile and console/PC games, where I would be impressed if I had played it on mobile, but on PC I feel like I wasted 20 hrs of my life.

It had sat in my backlog for years and I finally got around to playing it. 5hrs in at the moment and it is a very lackluster Zelda clone. It has all the basics you'd expect in a Zelda game (sword, shield, bow, bombs, coins, hearts, simple combat, charge up whirl attack, NPCs, etc), but it the story, voice acting, and pacing are all subpar. The fact that I was lead to believe I'd be able to navigate to islands like in Wind Waker but in fact it's just an on-rails shooter (after you get the boat gun) when traveling between islands from a menu was such a let down. also the stamina bar is trash, depletes to fast for most of the game (I'm praying it lasts longer late game for dash, right now it's almost useless save for one or two quick dsashes), and takes way to long to refill. It's not a terrible game by any means and I'll likely finish it, but years of it sitting in my backlog sort of built an aura around it that the game just failed to live up too. If it's on sale for under $5 go ahead and grab it you could do a lot worse, just don't go in expecting a masterpiece. Well 17 hours to 100% it so if you want an easy 100% this is it. It's not terrible, but it really does just feel like a watered down Zelda game.

I do not recommend Oceanhorn for PC. Is it a good game? No. Is it a bad game? No. It's just boring and average. You should play more fun games instead. The game is practically a copy of Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (for DS). However, the time mechanics have been removed. Also meaningful quests, challenging puzzles and good fighting mechanics. When you start the game, it feels charming and you're intrigued. But the game never delivers more. The longer you play, the more it feels like any depth is missing. On the good side, there is a good soundtrack, the game has no bugs and the graphics are nice. On the downside, nothing is really fun, most things are more more and tedious and the fishing mini game has the worst mechanics of any fishing game that I ever played. As a result, you should stay away from this game as it feels like you wasted you time and stick to better alternatives. Even thou there is no original Zelda game on PC, there are great alternatives, for example Blossom Tales (very close to a Zelda), Tunic (mostly very challenging combat), Figment (charming graphics and storyline) and many more.

PC version of Zelda. Puzzles, secrets, sword and shield. If you were ever sad that they never put Zelda on the computer, this can be a very good substitute 9/10 eNjoy =^-^=

This game was marketed as a Zelda clone. However, it is not even close. The only similarities are, bows, bombs, and swinging a sword. It ends there. There are no original gadgets, no compelling storyline, no challenging boss fights, and no challenging puzzles. The entire game feels extremely limited. There is no real mystery to character development and the storyline is petty. All of the mobs require the same logic to defeat and there are very few variations of them. If this were to be a clone, then where are all of the extra gadgets and related puzzles? The only extra "gadget" you get is the ability to jump over 1 block. There are a total of ~10 types of creature to defeat, but really only 4 different types: flyers, biters, sword swingers, and archers. All of them are weak against everything. So there is no real need to mixup your playstyle. Bosses show a little bit of variety, but are too simplistic. The competition offers variance between mobs. Some mobs can only be killed with bombs, others with the bow. You could use a boomerang to stun them or grab what they dropped. The puzzles in the competition actually required thinking. This game blatently points out what exactly needs to be done to solve just about all of the puzzles. So, if you want an incredibly easy and boring ripoff, this is your game. Otherwise, I'd only consider purchasing this during summer sale at the price it is worth - ~$3.

    Absolutely loved this game! Pro's:

Easy for a new gamer to pick up and play.
Enjoyable story line.
Classic Zelda type of gameplay.
Items to find and collect. ( heart containers + bloodstones + 2 extra spells )
Enjoyable scenery.
63 achievements to collect.
Fishing! Try to catch every type and the largest weight.
Con's:

General game difficulty can be found extremely easy for experianced gamers.
Puzzels often dont prove much of an overall challenge for experianced gamers.
The Boat cannot be manually steered. ( i found this dissapointing )
Regardless of the lack of personal challenge, i found it very enjoyable and do not regret purchasing this game at all. The Game developers are obviously Zelda fans. To finish off this review, all i would like to say is simply: "Create a sequel, make it more challenging and TAKE MY MONEY!" Definatly give this game a try!

This is hands down one of the best games I've played on Steam. The comparison to the Legend of Zelda series is spot on - If you have loved playing Zelda over the years then this game will be a delight! It's not a long game, but it's enjoyable and that's what counts in my book. I've been playing games on Steam for years but never got around to writing any reviews. This is the first game I've enjoyed enough to warrant a review. If you're looking for an enjoyable Zelda-like game then look no further! I can only hope the company makes more games like this for PC (I never played this on any other platform).

The comparisons to Zelda are clear and well founded, but that's purely a positive thing, if you like Zelda. It's a fairly straight forward questline with collectibles and little-to-no sidequests, which is a shame. I enjoyed the art style and the voice acting, can be a little difficult to remember what to do if you take a long break. It could use a bit more signposting of where you're meant to go next, but perhaps I'm just spoiled in this sense from most modern games.

This is a mobile port and it definitely shows. The game is pretty enough, voice acting is decent, but the gameplay itself is dull. The controls feel clunky, especially in combat where your hits do not always register if you attack the enemy too fast. Magic takes too long to be useful most of the time, and even when it is needed it feels underwhelming. An item you get lets you jump across small gaps and dodge roll, both of which are keyed to the same button. The game will let you fall from areas up to a certain height, which means you can be doing a timed puzzle and then inadvertantly (and commonly) dodge roll instead of jumping to the next platform and have to do the entire thing over. Damage is inconsistent, with bombs doing massive damage to some enemies but barely a scratch to others... and yet those other enemies will take a big chunk of damage from a random pot thrown at them. Speaking of pots, you have to either throw, shoot them, or throw a bomb at them to break them... your sword is evidently the sword of not smashing pots. Bosses are few and far between, and most are unimpressive. I died a few times to them, not because they were hard, but because of completely unavoidable attacks, the boss freezing (status, not game freezing) the mechanic to damage it and the only way to unfreeze it aside from letting it time out is your magic with the very long windup, or just poorly designed. Travel between islands is set on pre-set paths, you tell the game to go and it drops you into a little shooting gallery where you spam the attack button to kill anything that gets in the way until you reach the island. On mobile I'm sure it was neat, tap to kill the things, but on pc its just feels like a boring, spam your mouse button and go add-on. Overall, the game is probably very good on mobile platforms, but not a very good pc game, and comparing it to zelda is like comparing a perfectly cooked steak to a $1 Banquet microwave dinner.

As Lonk, the Hero of Tim, you must climb aboard your trusty sailboat, the King of Red Loans, and venture out across the flooded kingdom of Hyrufe to save Princess Zelba from the dastardly Ganondorp! May your legendary blade, the Mister Sword, strike true! Seriously, though, this game is fantastic. If you like Wind Waker, you'll like this, because, you know, it's Wind Waker.
