I was literally making an unofficial remake of the original game, earlier in the same year this came out. Then a year and a half later I finally find out it got an official remake already. LOL This remake even has some stuff I was gonna do lol. Like being able to sell all your resources with 1 interaction. (The original game used a menu) Then the best part, and the bit where I just couldn't believe what I was seeing. When you have nothing to sell, and you go up to the cart that you sell your stuff in, it tells you "Time to dig deeper!" Guess what the name was of this unofficial remake. Guess. I literally fricking called it Dig Deeper LOLLLLLLLLLL Anyway I'm super glad this is here now. I've been wanting to replay this game so much that I was literally willing to rebuild it from the ground up myself lol. I'm glad now that I don't have to, since I stumbled across this while considering picking that project back up again. (Good thing I found this, or I'd have just made a bootleg by accident lol) Thanks for putting this together dude, I thought you were totally out of the industry by now. This is everything I missed from the original game plus more. It feels way more polished and professional than the original. This is one of the best games to just chill out with, I can not recommend it enough. It's an absolute classic. PS: My one request would be to have the save tent back. The surface feels a little empty without it, and I'd just like it back for old time's sake. :P (Also my other one request would be to have a lantern meter on the HUD again cause that was really helpful before lol) Thanks again for making this.

This game was on my mind for many years. Probably a decade. So glad to have it back again. I searched it up every couple years to see if anything had been said about it. It was such a great surprise to see it was back. And it is just as great as I remember it. I would like to suggest that a max depth counter gets added to the stats

It seems that only people who played this on it's original release date, eons ago... in 2009 on Xbox Live, enjoy it, and the reviews just consist of "It's back!" "So nostalgic!" "Absolute classic game!" or just "Nice game!" "Good game!". I guess I don't really understand how this game is being praised as finally being back and lorded for nostalgia. It's a very, very simple mining game from 2009, and non of the positive reviews actually say anything about what's so damn good about it other than it being such a classic, nostalgic game. The game consists of Go down, Dig for 2 minutes, full inventory, go up, sell, repeat. After several repetitions you have enough to buy a new bag/hammer/light upgrade, rinse repeat. Nothing happens, no story, there's absolutely no re-play ability and apart from how incredibly easy it is to fall and die it is very mundane and simple gameplay with no satisfaction or pay-off at any time. It plays like a very simple, easy fun little game for young kids, and not only the gameplay reflects it but I think how most of these positive reviews are written reflects it as well. Every time I try out a new(for me) mining game I'm surprised at how no one yet comes even close to making something as good as Motherload is, a game that actually is a nostalgic, classic masterpiece that I would say is genre-defining. It's also very expensive for what you get. It used to cost 1$ on Xbox, now it's a whopping 7$.

I CAN'T BELIEVE ITS BACK. Now put GunValkrie, and El Shaddai on Steam and I never have to start up an XBOX or XBOX 360 ever again.

I am very glad this is available to play again! Nostalgia levels are at maximum. As far as I can tell, this is now a straight upgrade to the original. There were some changes that have since been patched (those items included below for posterity). It was already a recommend for me in that form, but it most certainly is now. Hope you all enjoy. Thank you devs! (There are two changes players will notice that are different than the original game: 1) You cannot dig while suspended by the grappling hook. Escaping from your mine is much more difficult now. 2) Elevators are stopped by boulders or resources. In the original the elevator would continue to dig down, and end up with a stack of boulders beneath it. Now the elevator stops short even if it encounters one boulder. Trying to get under a single boulder to drop it one tile at a time isn't too bad. For deeper shafts however the boulders tend to accumulate, and are likely to occur in adjacent columns. This means you'll either have to: let your elevator stop way short OR try to navigate multiple blocks wide worth of boulders just to get your full height out of the elevator.

I still have fond memories of this game from the XBLA. So many hours spent. The game is simple but very addicting.

only got 4 hours of playtime. in that time i upgraded everything fully and beat it twice. not sure if it is worth 7 dollars considering there are free mobile games with more play time, that are free! but i will say while playing it was pretty addicting.

I like mining games, and I didn't think this one would keep me going for so long but 21 hours later and I'm still pottering away in my mine. Aside from some minor quibbles (while a stone will push you away if you're only a little close to it, this same mechanic doesn't happen on lifts from what I can tell and lifts don't work after lvl 1000 - can't tell if this is coming or if this is a feature of the game), I enjoy this. Wish it had some achievements, but that's just me, lol.
