From indie-game award winning LaboGameStudio comes its first shareware Action Horror Adventure game!

Ever since the war ended, the island has been slowly re-consumed by nature.

Try as we might to keep our regrets in our memories, the choices and events of the past don't just disappear.

Having been sucked into an alternate world where the relics of war are now living, breathing creatures, our heroine must get around these monsters and, along with her companion, find a way back to their world...

Game Features

  • A fully panned out script with rich characters and multiple endings

  • Detailed Pixel art drawn from 3D rending that helps create a well made mix of immersion and presence.

  • Music composed using the next generation virtual sound instrument, Vienna Symphonic Orchestra, enhancing the atmosphere.

The term "hidden gem" gets thrown around *a lot* these days (Breath of the Wild, really?!) but this is one of the very, VERY few games I've ever found that actually meet that description. It's a solid game on it's own, but also the very clear love from the developer and the charm that comes from that simply elevate it. Keep in mind: if you like indie-puzzle-horror, this will be an 12/10 for you. However, if you DON'T like that genre, you'll probably feel it's charm is the only thing it has going for it.

It's an excellent game with a fantastic story, but it is somewhat... difficult. For there is often neither a lead nor a clue indicating what to do, it took me 4 hours to reach just a normal ending (+1 bad ending). And, the save points are not very obvious, and the conversations cannot be skipped (And the skeleton chase part nearly pissed me off). Despite all the things I mentioned, it is a terrific game with a touching plot, various routes, rather creative creatures and system. The game was worth the trouble.

Absolutly LOVED the game, great story, beautiful 2d graphics, amazing cut scenes, multiple endings, tough boss battles and puzzles, but very satisfying when solved. Lastly the boss designs are not only what got my attention but became my favorite thing about this game. Thanks you for the great game!

I think the creators had a great story in mind for this game, but they couldnt make that great story a great videogame. Memento is a mediocre rpg maker title with cheap deaths, its storyline is boring as hell trying to be edgy/spooky, and its characters doesnt make any sense. The saving system kinda sucks too because you cant replenish your lives with it and you're stuck having only 3 (being 5 the maximum lives you can get) There are a lot of better rpg maker games than this one in my opinion, I really wanted to like Memento because I love rpg maker games in general, but this one is just boring.

At the first view, this game brings very non-traditional RPG Maker graphics but the game itself isn't that good. Poorly written story with not much amusing gameplay, where you have to keep running from the machines. I was really disapointed.

This was a game that truly surprised me, both in terms of story and gameplay experience. I wasn't sure what to expect going in, but upon finishing I was left with a feeling of amazement. The developer has really worked some magic; weaving a deep, emotional story, utilizing simple mechanics in challenging ways, and creating a lush and vibrant environnment from simple means. This is the most difficult game I've played this year. Death is around every corner, plenty of "bad ends" to encounter. Near the beginning, I wanted to give up in sheer frustration several times (so happy I didn't)--but I always found myself coming back and trying again. There are no healing items, and you have only a few hitpoints to last you throughout the game itself. Seems harsh, but it feels right. As I played on, I wouldn't have it any other way. This game encourages you to learn from your mistakes and put thought into every move you make. There are no unimportant decisions, everything has an impact. Sometimes...you choose wrong, and you are helpless (or dead). Lends a sense of weight and realism to the survival aspect of the game. Making it through to the end feels like a real accomplishment. One of my absolute favorite things about the game is in its design. MEMENTO probably has some of the most original enemy designs I have ever seen. I love the juxtaposition of the organic and the military. The cutscenes, although brief, are breathtaking in their simplicity. With several endings and secrets to discover, there's replayability. MEMENTO has a style entirely its own. I am already looking for more from the developer, and I can't wait to see what comes next!

Interesting doujin horror, but could use work. +Denizens of ghost world are unusual; many are semi-cyborgs who have incorporated rusted war machinery into their ectoplasmic being. Neat! +Difficulty is high enough. The threat is felt, but can be overcome. You will die a few times. If you don't, a horror game isn't doing its job. +Interesting narrative, with a few classic ghost story touches. -Not enough CG stills to emphasize important scenes. Considering how plain the gameplay animations are, and how basic the dialog is, the lack stands out. -Main character doesn't have any personality -- or even a portrait! In a 2D horror game, or any narrative-driven horror game, it's important to know what the protagonist stands to lose by death/dismemberment. -Could use a more fleshed-out ending. A coda would have been nice, perhaps taking place a month after the main events of the game. Bottom line: It's not bad. Buy it on a sale. It doesn't live up to Mad Father standards, but I don't regret my time with it.

This game is very unpopular , but I got word of it when YouTube recommended me of the scissormon's video When I bought it and played it, it seemed to be pretty nice and has a good story of the horrors of war. The reviews might say otherwise but if you don't care too much about graphics and short gameplay and have 6€ to spare then you should consider playing MEMENTO. One thing that bothers me is the saving, which sounds pretty cool but in order to save, you need to always stand in front of a cross or a cross shaped graffiti or object but thank goodness Miyako has a cross necklace on her. Overall, MEMENTO is a decent game with good story and beautiful graphics that has become lost due to it not catching any popularity. I'm interested of more projects that Labo game studios would possibly do on the future.
