Alright look, you're here because you played either the first game, second game, or both. The current and supposed final state that the game is in makes it extremely difficult to enjoy. Soft locks that get triggered from actions done in previous chapters caused me to have to restart the entire game multiple times. Eventually what should have been a two hour playable experience turned into a six hour nightmare of me just begging for it to be over so I could at least say I got all of the story. The ending of this trilogy was such a let down, I can see through story direction that the developers wanted there to be more there. but there just isnt. TL;DR Pulled my hair out just trying not to soft lock the game, let alone finishing it. It is possible, but you'll feel like you got cheated.

I really don't know why this game has such a bad rep. I'm not saying it's perfect and it's definitely the weakest if the trilogy but I actually really enjoyed this game. The textures are a bit off and there's a couple of models that are rigged really poorly but the gameplay itself seems to revert to a style more akin to the first game. It's figuring out puzzles to execute each resident of the small town. I really liked exploring a large open map and finding connections in order to bring about the end days. The worst part of the game is probably the platforming segments but there's only a couple of them. I just like the earnest effort put into this game and found it a lot of fun. Now if I can only get House of the Rising Sun out of my head I'd be glad.

Ok this is the best game of the whole franchise, the only thing that i didnt like was the fact that ended too soon, this sure is a glow up from previous lucius games!

It's a good game, much better than chapter 2 which was horrible in my opinion. idk why they gave me a 25% coupon code after I bought the game, now I have to wait until the current sale is over to use my coupon for a cheaper price. Thanks Shiver Games.

It's a rough game for 2018 and I wish they would have either had him older or go back to the series roots with a single location as clearly open world is too much for the size of team. The voice acting and animations are good though and the locations look good but clipping can be an issue a lot along with some lighting bugs occasionally otherwise it is better than the previous installment.

DISCLAIMER: My 74 hours of playtime are pre-launch testing. This game comes back to L1's roots in two ways: - A focused, more cohesive narrative - Less sandbox and more linearity (which helps keep the game on track) STORY: - The game feels like an interactive movie with it's extended cutscenes and detailed dialogues between characters. - While on the long side, the cutscenes don't outstay their welcome and are easily skipped via Esc button. - Some elements of the story (chapter 3) will leave you gawking. It's undeniable that this small team has crazy ammounts of courage and would've had their game positively gutted by a big-name publisher. WORLD: - With it's New England depressive charm, the open world feels large at first, but you get fast travel as soon as you're out of the prologue. - The buildings and interiors are sufficiently detailed and individual that they don't feel copy-pasted. Some visual glitches aside (vegetation, distant popping and lighting issues), the care and attention to detail is visible in the art style which throws you back into the late 70's. - With its gloomy vintage air, the world is suitably atmospheric. Shadows abound even in the brightest of open, sunlit areas and there's a pervasive sense of impending loss hanging in the air. CHARACTERS: - While most central characters are memorable from a visual standpoint (Lucius, McGuffin, Gabriel and Satan), the rest of the cast is uneven. Some character models are good enough to be remembered (Banter, Ceefor and Ferguson) while others are perplexingly hideous (Samantha Morgan and one of the Freeman brothers). - Lucius himself is the biggest step up in quality concerning character design and has left the uncanny valley of L1 and 2. Sporting a side swept mafioso hairstyle and a brand new (dare I say obsessively detailed?) face, the Spawn of Satan is now not only believable as a child of the human species, but equal parts adorable and unnerving, especially when he throws a death stare right at the camera. - Jack is appropriately haggard and unkept, a man beaten down by life and fate while Gabriel will have your bells ringing as soon as you see him up close. Shame that Satan (arguably the most charismatic presence) gets so little screen time. GAMEPLAY: - The game's puzzles and mechanics are slimmed down to the essential. Item collection is still the main way of progressing through the story and the kills are straight forward. The notebook is handy with the tips while not being overly on the nose and reading the item descriptions in your inventory will likely save you some time running in circles. - While the animations are serviceable, they stick out like a sore thumb in the cutscenes where the quality of the lipsynch is most noticeable. - The limited parkour is bare bones, but reliable and secure. Think less AC and more Gothic 1. PROS: - A niche genre with a unique story by a brave small team. - Good bang for the buck. - Cohesive, slow burning narrative. - Essentialised mechanics. No extraneous features, no frills, no quills. Every gameplay element falls into place neatly. - Relaxing pace. The game doesn't push you around and lets you progress at your own pace. - Easter eggs galore, from chapter and character names, to journal entries and items, some are in your face (Gabriel and Ceefor) while others are more subtle. - Chapter loading. This is most useful if you want to catch some kills or cutscenes you missed, or want to complete your bobblehead collection. CONS: - Visual glitches (vegetation, lighting, dark areas) - Occasional game-terminating bugs such as collisions and logic problems. - Low replay value (except for completionists who might want to grab all the collectibles kill absolutely everybody) CONCLUSION: Recommended for its originality and small price.

Serious gfx issues, almost all areas in shade or inside buildings are just completely black making it impossible to see anything. I can deal with the bugs and minor glitches (of which there are many) But not being able to see anything even on maximum brightness settings is a killer. As I mentioned there are also MANY bugs and glitches - Clunky movement, Awful animations Objects sticking out of walls, Objects visible through walls, Things interactable through walls, Characters clipping into walls/floors and each other, Various sound issues and voice's stopping mid speech or clipping over other sound cues. And this is after just 2 hours of play no doubt there are more. The game feels like it was rushed into release far to early to meet the christmas deadline. Hopefully they can salvage some of it from the wreckage with future patches.

First off, this game is for hardcore Lucius fans only… Why, you may ask? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As requested; update Dec. 20: The good thing is that in terms of story and gameplay Lucius 3 is getting back to its origin/roots. Back in the town of Winter Hill (where you spent the first six years of your life), you (in your role as antichrist) have to track down the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. To do this, you roam the open game world, search homes for clues, (revile/investigate the past and secrets) talk to inhabitants and ultimately kill them. This means that you have to work out a killing sequence through personal research and solving some puzzles. In addition/optional you can apply this to other, non-main story related characters as well. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It is buggy/laggy with awful/outdated graphics (incl. frame drops). Some bug details: Characters floating in the air, or stuck in the ground. Main quest items can be collected repeatedly and I had at least one game-breaking bug (couldn’t interact with an object) and had to restart this chapter. On the bright side: - open world with many locations to discover/explore - 1 tutorial and 7 main chapters - turn into a raven and fly around the town - good music, sound, voice acting and cutscenes (overall) - interesting and engaging storyline/dialogues and narrative - fair level of difficulty and easy puzzles (+ easy achievements) - a couple of side quests; you can kill almost all characters, collect "Bobbleheads" - wickedly funny - two endings - min. 6-8 hours of gameplay Lucius is back, let’s get ready to rumble! However, love it or hate it. Hell Yeah! Screenshot added: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1591339035
