A simple and stylish Hitman 47 turn-based strategy to keep brain active. Features levels from Hitman: Bloody Money and Hitman 2: Silent Assassin with 47's famous toolset.

(This review is almost a copy-paste job of the Lara Croft Go review as they are very similar) Great little turn based puzzle game set in a Hitman setting. Puzzles are not overly difficult, however it keeps you interest with each new stage and slowly introduces new mechanics. New levels provide additional challenges (like, solve this level in limited number of moves) which keeps the game challenging and fresh. I read some of the negative reviews because, well i was wondering what someone thought was negative about this game. Some said it didn't play on PC...plays on mine just fine. Some complained that their weren't enough settings...for what? The game doen't need any. Some said too expensive...really? I pay more to see a two hour movie. Some said it doesn't feel like the other Hitman game...surprise...it isn't, did you even look at the video or pictures? Talk about peas under matresses. In my opinion this game is fun and quick. I can play a fast board or several. I didn't expect anything more then what was advertised and I am very happy with what I recieved.

I was hesitant at first to pick up a mobile port but with game being so cheap on sale I decided to try it out, and I’m glad I did. If you like puzzle games then you’ll like Hitman GO. The game is all about moving your figure around on a grid like levels trying to take out your targets. When you move, everybody else moves. Enemies have different abilities, there are pick up weapons, decoys, disguises, there are also escalators, manhole teleporters, locked doors and keys all working together to give your brain a challenge to figure out. What is also nice is that there is more than one way to finish a level. Some levels will require multiple plays to achieve 3 star rating, so there is some replayability. Overall the game can be finished and 100%ed in 7-8 hours. But one huge gripe I have with this game is its control scheme. Swiping makes sense on mobile, but not with a mouse. If your only available movement is up, down, left or right you could have used, oh I don’t know, freaking ARROWS? Or even just clicking on a spot would have made more sense than swiping. It would have been nice to at least have that option.

Hitman was always a puzzle game. Hitman GO just boils this down to its essence.

Hitman GO is a spin off of the Hitman franchise, which trades the murder sandbox into a turn based strategy. Since there's no story, we're jumping straight into graphics. Graphics: Hitman GO design is incredibly minimalistic, but it works really well. Each area is styled like a board game and everything from characters and other items on the board are like game pieces. It's decent and I really did like the design of most of the boards and I felt it was a charming art style to go for. Audio: Since this is a more casual experience the music and the sound effects do reflect that. Music is a very calming and relaxing music, something very fitting considering the gameplay. There's plenty of decent tracks that don't assault your ears when playing, it's actually quite nice. I also really liked the sound effects whenever you move 47 around the board, the shuffle noise he makes is quite satisfying and not to mention how great the noise is when you kill someone. Apart from that there's not much to talk about here. Gameplay: Just like the regular Hitman games, your most common goal is to kill your target, but now you're solving a puzzle on how to get to him. The game is set on a grid where you can move 47 on little circles, every move will advance something on the board by one move like a security guard moving one space. You can kill anyone as long as you're not taking them head on, but the are items you can use to distract them and force them to move to where they heard a noise. Each level is a big puzzle for you to solve and each level has a few challenges for you to solve, like getting to the end of the level without killing anyone or killing everyone. It forces you to play some levels twice and it works for the most part, however there is one big draw back, that a lot of levels are pretty trial and error. In certain levels you have to fail a few times to fully understand all the moves the guards will make and while it's all good, considering you're solving a puzzle, I felt like a lot of the levels we're like this. I did enjoy the good majority of the levels, but not many, especially the really big ones. However I will say the difficulty is just about right, it starts off really easy and gets progressively harder as you go on, not to mention if intend to go for all the challenges then you will have an even bigger challenge. I will say however that I wish all of the challenges were possible to do in one go instead of going through the level multiple times to complete them all, but I feel like this might be just me so I won't really nag on it too much. Verdict: Hitman GO is a really decent casual puzzle game and it still has the spirit of Hitman in it. It's fun figuring out how to get to your target and escape and I had a blast with the puzzles. I will say some puzzles are really difficult and it might be too simplistic, but overall it's a fun game that is worth playing if you're a fan of puzzle games. Final Rating: 7.5/10 Pros: + Difficulty is just right + Easy to get into + Plenty of play value Cons: - A few of the levels are way too complex - The side challenges do get tedious If you liked this review please consider joining https://steamcommunity.com/groups/completingthebacklog and https://steamcommunity.com/groups/ImperialReviews

This is a good puzzle game with nice little tweaks in it. Even has a level from my favorite Hitman game, Blood-Money. BUT A lot of performance issues, achievements are broken, overpriced. If you are really want this game, wait for a sale or buy the mobile version instead. Honestly, it works better.

Master of deadly craft in a different format. Hitman GO is a turn-based puzzle video game developed by Square Enix Montreal and published by Square Enix. Story Agent 47 does what he does best, and that is assassinating people. In GO he travels to multiple different locations to infiltrate them and eliminate specific targets, but there is no bigger connection nor plot behind it. Gameplay Each chapter of the game is presented in form of a board game, with 47 and his enemies being miniature figures, moving through grid-based levels filled with lines and nodes. Main goal is reaching the end of the level, either by getting to final node or by eliminating a target. Outside of main goals, majority of levels contains additional two objectives you can complete, varying on a stage to increase replayability and challenge. It can be collecting an item, completing a level in specific amount of turns and so on. Completing mentioned tasks grants you stars required to unlock further chapters. Between you and your objectives stands a decent amount of obstacles in form of guards featuring different movement patterns. At the start you will be introduced to one type of a guard, but as you progress the game will bring more enemy variants and additional mechanics to spice things up, such as throwable items or disguises. You can eliminate enemies by moving onto the node they occupy during a turn. It's a turn based game- after your move all characters on the board perform specific action depending on their type, some might move to another node while others can turn around to look into another direction. If you get stuck on a level, or you have a problem with completing one of the bonus goals, you can use hints. Playtime, replayability and other gamemodes It took me 6 hours to complete every objective in the game, but keep in mind I do have experience with Go games as I've played both Lara Croft and Deus Ex titles before. So for a newcomer I would add one, maybe two additional hours. It also depends on how much time you are willing to spend on puzzles until you decide to use hints, and if you want to go for all objectives or not. Previously mentioned additional objectives are a great reason to replay certain areas of the game. No other mode beside single player. Definitive Edition This edition contains additional two episodes that were released post-launch, with one recreating St. Petersburg chapter from Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, further pleasing fans of 47's adventures. It also features improved visuals, and removes all in-game purchases options! Pros and cons Fantastic board game aesthetic and pleasant visual presentation are two things that stand out. Mix that with simple gameplay mechanics and decent difficulty curve that will respect you yet not overwhelm to make this title available to almost everyone- whether you are a fan of Hitman or you look for a decent puzzle game, you will find something for yourself. Additional content and improvements over mobile version, including removal of pesky (and way overpriced) in-game transactions is a big plus. Only negative is that some levels cannot be completed without killing non-targets, one of the key elements Hitman franchise is known for. Final words and conclusion Unfortunately there is no actual Hitman board game inspired by GO or featuring similar artstyle/aesthetics available to purchase, which greatly displeases me. A successful and fresh take on well known series, Definitive Edition of Hitman GO brings pleasant artstyle and enjoyable puzzles from mobile to PC in improved version. Hitman Go has little more than an aesthetic similarity to the main Hitman games, but it's a fun puzzle game nonetheless. The puzzles get quite tricky but still fair, and the whole board game aesthetic is a nice touch, too. Recreating the opera house level from Blood Money is bonus points, too.
