  Played about 3.5 hours last night and had the most fun with a football game since All-Pro Football 2k8. Personally, I feel football games have been bad since the jump from the original Xbox/ps2 generation to the 360/ps3, they've just never felt right. This while extremely rough reminds me of some of the greats such as NFL 2k5. People are weird and buy into an early access project and expect immediate perfection. Don't listen to them, spend the $20 and enjoy the ride. I think a lot of folks who enjoyed the golden era of football games will see the potential.

  I am really enjoying the physics (even the hilarious moments), and the game has huge potential that it can build upon. [strike]Unfortunately the game feels like it's being held together by duct tape and I have not been able to even try the RPG season mode because it crashes my PC every time I try to load into the mode. [/strike] Developer has fixed the bug! Very fast too! Definitely support the game, they truly care

  Football Simulator is a game I can easily recommend if you want to support a development team, Refactor Games, that listens to their community and is trying to fulfill the spot in American Football games that a lot of folks are requesting. You have real hit detection where if either the players hand or head hit the ball it is knocked loose. This feels absolutely rewarding when diving in front of a pass and intercepting the ball or diving into a receiver and knocking the ball loose. Dragging players around is nice as well when running the ball. Also, there are several pre-set physic options that you can easily change from within the game to add more realism from the trailers you see on the Steam page. You can even edit these yourself with simple modding. Sure, the development team has tons to work on. At this point, 7/6/2022, this game is in very early access but I bought in because I want to support their vision and the game is at a point where I can already have fun with it. The physics in the game are fun and while the animations still have a long way to go to match up with them, that doesn't stop each play from potentially feeling super rewarding when you successfully pull off that perfect play. Just remember that the game was released in Early Access and long before their final vision. They are working on both the features they would like to add and also hand in hand with their community on features requested. Things of note for buyers: - Yes you can mod a lot of features but that all appears to be outside the game (as of 7/6/2022). If you join Discord the community seems super happy to answer questions and the files look very easy to mod (even for those people who are not modders). Go to The Discussions page on Steam and the Discord link is supplied for easy access (on the final page). - You will encounter bugs. In over 8 hours of play I've only crashed once, but there are plenty of bugs reported. Most of these are not game breaking and several bugs and quality of life improvements have already been tackled by the developers, ReFactor games. - Season Mode is their Franchise Mode and that mode is currently being worked on. It is there but I'm sure it is a long way from where it will end. - The game is not highly optimized but there are plenty of optimizations you can currently do in the game to get it to run fairly well. I'm running it on a below spec PC and it still runs fairly well and I've already seen performance optimizations since the game came out the made it run better for me. I can only assume that the performance will continue to be tuned and run even better over time. - If you have pre-purchase questions then head to the Discord. There are plenty of features they currently plan on adding and the Discord is super friendly. In the end if you want an enjoyable American Football experience that is on Steam and developed by a group of people who care about giving you the game you desire, I'd easily recommend this even in its current state.

  It's been a sad time to be a fan of American Football games these last 10 years, but this game right here is the sign that finally, things are starting to change! If you want a real option to Madden then support this game! The gameplay is already great, moddable physics, moddable teams, active devs and a great community.

  Most fun I've had on a football game since playing madden 07 when I was a kid. sometimes dumb stuff happens but it's not $60 and it's in early access so I expected some of that. MAKE FOOTBALL GAMES GREAT AGAIN

  Q1 or Q2 2023 for full release is a little ambitious. In its current state, it feels more like a proof-of-concept, pre-alpha. At 0.4 hours of gameplay, I think I'm good until/unless they make some massive improvements. It's a good start, but the fact that it's already up on Steam to be purchased as an early release makes me wonder if it's a quick money grab. I hope that is not the case.
