  I finished this on mobile a couple of times. I'm only about an hour in to this version, but it is even more fun on PC. Using a controller is a lot better than the touchscreen. I was kind of surprised at how big everything looks on a monitor, but I got used to it quickly. Fun game and worth the money, imo.

  Plays like a much simplified cheaper version of [b]Rogue Legacy[/b]. You enter a randomised dungeon, kill enemies, collect loot, buy upgrades, and suddenly enemies that were hard become easy and new harder enemies replace them. Boss fights are fun, new equipment shows on your character and basic [i]platforming[/i] mixed with [i]hack n slash[/i] combat provide a solid experience.

  I tried to give this game a fair chance, but overall I was just sick and tired of jumping through the games hoops to get the weapons, loot and gear I wanted. No matter what your strength level is, wooden boxes and just simply objects with coins hidden inside take 3 hits to destroy. After that, coins spew out and you literally have to chase them. And to make it even worse, those coins are only worth $1 each. Combine that with gear like weapons and armor...These have to be bought in order, so even if you have enough money to buy a higher skill item you can't buy it until you buy the cheaper one first and waste your money. Dumb. So pretty much the game is designed to work against you and to constantly make you do these things in the most mundane fashion. Over and over and over.

  I can't believe it's only 49 cents when on sale... Truly a fun game, with smooth controls, great action and some nice music. Very addictive.

  This is one of the best cheap games I've bought on Steam. Devious Dungeon is very enjoyable; it feels like a roguelike or a classic gameboy game but isn't very punishing at all. For a casual game, it is just the right level of difficulty: the three-level checkpoint system forces you to put some effort into preserving your health, but the inevitability of collecting coins and purchasing new weapons and armor makes the game far less frustrating than it would otherwise be. Admittedly at the later stages it can feel grindy and repetitive if you have to do them over and over again for coins, but the random generation of dungeons alleviates this. Devious Dungeons is for the most part, a well-designed game; there's a good amount of variety in the enemies you'll face and the controls, while wonky at first, are easy to get used to. My only major complaint would be that there isn't a ton of replay value for this... you could defeat all the bosses and get 100% achievements in a few hours, and then there's really not much else to do besides spending a few more hours maxing out your weapons and equipment. But before then, it's a very satisfying game that I found addicting enough to beat in just a few play-throughs. It is easily worth the 50 cents I paid on sale, and even its normal price isn't bad for what is a very fun, well-made game.

  Got this because it was on sale for 50 cents and had positive ratings. Unfortunately it's not all that great. The art style and animations are quite nice, but the gameplay is really flat. I'm aware I have very little time on record, but from what I've seen of the upgrade tree and even what's on display in the trailer, there's nothing to look forward to. Combat is basically just 'hold the button until the enemy dies', with absolutely no meaningful difference between the weapons aside from damage and attack speed. There's no dodge, no block, no different movesets, no abilities or sub-items. Nothing. You just walk up to an enemy and hold the attack button until they die. The early maps are pretty basic, with your typical platforms and spike floors, but they all felt the same and due to some weird responsiveness issue with the jump button, they were pretty boring to go through. I also experienced getting stuck in menus because buttons wouldn't respond much of the time, especially the 'back' button. And the upgrades, they all seem to be a linear progression of better armor (health) and weapons (damage). No loot to be found or unlocked, just bought in a linear progression (you can't unlock Item C until you buy Item B). There isn't really any room for alternate loadouts or playstyles, and there's nothing to look forward to unlocking except slightly bigger numbers and a different sprite for your outfit and/or beatstick. Ultimately the game looks nice, but there's nothing really on offer. It might be worth looking at for 50 cents, but I've played free flash games more interesting than this.

  Great Game! Lately this is more entertaining then a full fledge RPG like SKYRIM with a ton of bugs and broken quests. Has a lot to offer for a simple whack an hack!

  Good day, dear readers! I recommend this game to everyone. I bought the game for the promotion, played one hour at the moment, and I don't want to. The game is interesting and addictive for a long time.

  Devious Dungeon is a great game. This is a 2D platformer, with a tilt RPG in a dungeon. interesting to play, this is something new for me. gameplay 5+. thanks for the 90% discount
