When I was a Kid I would play "Incredible machines - Even More Contraptions" all day, every day. Loved that. Thank you for continuing the series!

I played the shit out of The Incredible Machine back in the day which is why I picked this one up. If you've at all curious about it you should pull the trigger, especially right now while it's 90% off. *edit* Looks like it's not on sale anymore, but add it to your wishlist cause if it was 90% off once, it will happen tweece, twice? Whatever I hate these things. Do me a favor, do it, do it.

I can't really recommend this game and i will explain why. First, i am not new to this series at all i own and or have played all of the following: - The Incredible Machine (from 93') - The Incredible Machine 2 - The Incredible Machine 3 - Return of the Incredible Machine: Contraptions - The Incredible Machine: Even More Contraptions - Crazy Machines - Crazy Machines Elements - Crazy Machines 1.5 Inventors Training Camp - Crazy Machines 1.5 New from the Lab - Crazy Machines 2 - Crazy Machines 3 In the old games they gave you the freedom to move the various items at will to complete the level in anyway you wanted with the pieces provided. It was straightforward and easy to pick up and learn from. For whatever reason - in this game they decided to instead make it so you can only place things a certain way, and in a certain place or it simply won't work. There's also peripheral items on the "map" that can get in the way of placement even though it looks as though it's not even close to hitting. Nothing snaps together and you can't tell what fits or what has collision issues until you've placed the part. Clicking the parts is a challenge as well, you physically have to click on a spoke of the wheel or the outter rim - if you click in the "dead area" between the wheel spokes you won't select the item (this makes it even harder for children to drag and drop items.) So instead of concentrating on the physics and forces imparted by the different objects - the player is literally forced to keep placing hard to click parts over and over and over while they flash red and white if they don't fit - trying to find out the exact way THEY want you to do it. Meanwhile, the game gives zero indicator as to what's wrong (other than the pieces flashing red and white) and why it won't work - they won't even let you press the play button to see where it fails if there's any sort of collision on the board. Basic scientific method of trial and error is removed because of this - what are you trying to teach here other than tolerance? This is very discouraging for kids who are just trying to learn the basics. I set my son up on the game and was wondering why he would walk away in under 5 minutes, so i sat down and spent over 10 minutes trying to figure out how to get the proper gear placement in Blacksmithery. It is very simple. Take the dumb gears and place them in such a manner where they touch and cause the gears to spin, thus the hammer will repeatedly fall - completing the level. Easy right? Nope, even though you know exactly what you need to do...you'll spend 10x's the time it should take to finely tune each individual gear on a coarse grid to get it just the way THEY want it. There's 3 motors there but you can't just use any one of them - no no - you're gonna have to waste time trying them all out on their mismatched grid that seems like the spacing was created just coarse enough that the gears refuse to mesh at anything but 90º angles. More discouraging frustration for children. I tried to like this game as i have the older versions in the past and bought it for my kids to have fun with as i had "back in the day" but this one is going on the digital shelf to collect dust. In short, I recommend going with an older version of this game or track down "Armadillo Run" if you want something different all together. I fired that up and my son played it for almost 3 hours and it's from 06' - meanwhile i couldn't get him to sit down on this for more than 5 minutes until i finally figured out why.

This game is basically a modern version of a Sierra game I played back in the early 90s call The Incredible Machine. The puzzles are fun and thoughtful and the machines are complete overkill craziness. Good times!

I played the first Crazy Machines as a kid, and spent my time in the editor littering the corkboard with bombs and blowing robots out of the screen. I picked up this game, and now i'm building more elaborate and thoughtful contraptions. Instead of using bombs and robots, I'm building elaborate contraptions with many steps-although the goal is the same. it's still fun as hell to blow unicorns up with gas barrels, make modified trebuchets, etc. A lot of fun all around, definately recommend!

Prof.Vaharrak's Curator Group - Almost 30 years of gaming experience at your service I remember playing "The Incredible Machine" back in the 90's, when computer mice had a little metal ball under them, back when monitors would have mesh screens so that they wouldn't hurt your eyes, back when you had to use the command prompt to install and load games, back when Windows first had windows... Almost 30 years later I still declare myself a huge fan of the series and no game since has felt closer to that initial wonder and amazement than Crazy Machines 3. The music is nice and relaxing, the puzzles and parts are fun to mess around with and their varying degrees of challenge make it a fine puzzle game suitable for all ages. The inclusion of workshop offers near limitless possibilities and guarantees that, if you like it, you'll spend more time than you'd initially imagine fidgeting with the campaigns and levels in the game. Picked it for half a dollar during the Steam Summer Sale and it's certainly one of those hidden gems that is sure to satisfy puzzle-lovers everywhere. Very recommended!

This is a really nice Incredible Machine clone, for the most part. Unfortunately, it gets bogged down in weirdly arbitrary rules about what can clip through what, both when constructing your machine and during the test run. Like the power bar that can't plug directly into a generator, or the "shelf" that a battery falls right through, or the rope that can connect to a balloon in one level but not in the next. It seems like the game is using those rules to artificially make puzzles more challenging, rather than making genuinely challenging puzzles while rewarding innovation. To add insult to injury, the game interrupts your play to ask if you'll give it a thumbs up on Steam, and later again to ask if you'll follow it on Facebook. Frankly, if it hadn't asked me that, I just might have.

This game challenges your eyes more than it does to the brain. It's always a hasle to find the exact point to place an item as it can collide with background items. Some items in the background are 3d and some are not, and you have no way to know that other than trial and error. Figuring where to place items is so frustrating that it's more difficult than figuring out the solution to the puzzles. By the way I was able to solve some puzzles just by dropping an unrelated item on something without even looking at the rest of the puzzle, which is another proof that the developers didn't give much time to test the game. I recommend The Crazy Machines 1 and 1.5 series, though. They were good games back in the time.

Had so much fun as a kid with The incredible machines. Now it's back. And it's the same and better! Nice puzzles better graphics. 10/10 would buy again. Have fun!

This game is a throwback to the 90s when games like The Incredible Machine kept you entertained for weeks. Definitely worth buying if you enjoy such puzzle games!
