This is an isometric (LOZ inspired clone). Is this game for everyone Hellz no. Is this game for me yes. First off the exploration is not difficult for anyone who loves old LOZ games and box puzzles. The combat is no where people have made it out to be and I find it quite easy (good for me right lol). The controls have had no delay for me and I am using a Ps4 bluetooth controller. I am estimating this game will take me another 30 to 40 hours to finish as I have hit a few snags and had to trial and error some puzzles but the graphics are SO BEAUTIFUL its not clear what you can manipulate in the onset of the game. (You get used to that). It takes about an hour to get your sword after that the game is even better to me. I really wished this got better praise its a game made with mad love and I love the game for it. If your a fan of this type of adventure and upgrades with time and real effort then come join me in this IMO better than most of its ilk.

If you have ever played any Zelda game Baldo will make you feel home. Everything is so finely curated, great art and soundtrack, nice storyline (which is huge), the combats are all different and the puzzles are all diverse and interesting, but keep in mind that this game is quite hard, you will a lot of situational awareness and problem solving skills and it will take time to solve some major quests. I recommend playing it with a controller if you can, since the pc version is a porting from the console edition, however I was able to finish it with mouse/keyboard without any problem. Definitely recommended, I loved it.

You have to buy this now. Game is fixed. Loving the game! Only thing I wish now is the option to change controls. Check this review for the updates/fixes done in the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5yuYY17DBw

In my experience, the game is so much better now! I play with the assist mode on, because I like things a little bit easier, but still chalenging. The gameplay has improved a lot. It is one of the best games I´ve ever played now. Thank you developers, who listened to the community.

Just finished the game, it was great, the game is completely fixed now. I had no issues at all. The only complaint is the ending. WTH?? But I hope they come out with DLC or a sequel to this game.

Reviews seem pretty harsh on this for the most part unfairly so. Its a Zelda-like with great artwork. The world is expansive, dungeons and combat are fun but difficult. Pros: Cute Windwaker/Ghibli Style Artwork Nicely Scored Music Expansive Map Difficult Puzzles Complex Dungeons. Cons: No Control Rebinds. (though default controls aren't terrible on a PS4 controller) Combat Is Often Hard. (in a Soulsborne perfect reflexes type way- though some may see that as a positive?) Puzzles/Quests Often Don't Have A Logical Solution. (feels like an og Zelda Game, where you had to ask your friend how to do something, before the days of youtube and guides) Map Is Very Large. (Overworld map is vast for the size of the game, and the map is not the best) Characters Seem Very Generic NPCy (No memorable characters, but again this is a dungeon crawler.) So with that in mind, for the price, if you want an OG Zelda-like with cute artwork and intense dungeons I recommend it highly. If not, maybe this game is not for you.

Played dozens of hours on Apple Arcade and decided I wanted to play it on a bigger screen to really appreciate the world and the art design. It's a beautiful game. The world is HUGE and packed full of secrets to discover. Highly reminiscent of old-school Zelda as many have said before. The puzzles are not always easy or obvious, but I think that's a function of my brain getting lazy after playing so many games where the answers are just given to you. Every time I figure something out I shake my head and wonder how I could have missed it in the first place. The combat is relatively straightforward and easy, which is appropriate considering how much of it you have to do. When initially released, the combat was so punishing that it was a chore to play. This is better in my opinion. You play this game for the music, to explore the environment and to discover the secrets. If that doesn't sound appealing or you want a complex battle system, this is just not the game for you. I love it, though. Nothing else really feels like Baldo does.

Do not believe the "it's fixed now" hype. Despite the beautiful environments (I do not extend that compliment to the awkwardly animated characters) the game design and coding is either atrocious or incompetent. I lean towards incompetent due to how rooms with changeable states replay the state-changing animations when you enter them instead of just loading in the changed state. The whole thing plays like a cargo-cult version of a Zelda game and I gave up at the early-on stealth section where guards not only do not react to thrown items like guards in literally every other stealth game ever, but they don't even reset their position properly when you fail - like every other stealth game. The curse of the Ghibli-style game continues - great visuals, mediocre to awful gameplay. Not worth it at any price.

The game shows a lot of promise, no doubt, but in the current state, I can't recommend it. Pros: - Good Soundtrack, reminds you of classics like Ni No Kuni. - Ghibli style aesthetic, which makes the game great to look at. - Decent Overworld. From the limited time I've played, it seems like there's a lot to do in the game, quest and exploration included. Cons: - Performance leaves a lot to be desired. - No customisability whatsoever. Graphics settings, Resolution settings, Keybinding settings and any other QoL settings required for a PC port are missing. - Some gamebreaking bugs are present. Final Verdict: This feels more like a poor PC port, and if you own a Switch, I'd recommend you pick it up there, at least for the time being. However, this game does show promise in terms of its core gameplay, just needs a LOT of QoL upgrades before it's properly playable on the PC.

**RECOMMENDED WITH CAUTION** PROS -Beautiful Art. -Interesting story. -Great Soundtrack. -Fun Game play. CONS -No Graphics options. -No control options. -Not much options at all. -Performance Issues. -Difficult in a bad way (needs a tutorial and hints at the start)
