Surah Al-Kahf (Arabic: الكهف, al-Kahf, "Cave") also called Ashabul Kahf is the 18th surah in the Qur'an.

This surah consists of 110 verses, including the Makkiyah surah groups.

Named Al-Kahf and Ashabul Kahf which means the Companions of the Cave.

Both of these names are taken from the story contained in this surah in verses 9 through 26,

about some young people (The Seven Sleepers) who have slept in caves for years.

مَنْ قَرَأَ سُورَةَ الْكَهْفِ فِى يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ أَضَاءَ لَهُ مِنَ النُّورِ مَا بَيْنَ الْجُمُعَتَيْن

"Whoever reads the letter of Al Kahf on Friday will be illuminated by the light between the two Fridays."
