﴿ اللّهُ لاَ إِلَـهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ لاَ تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلاَ نَوْمٌ لَّهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الأَرْضِ مَن ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِهِ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلاَ يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلاَّ بِمَا شَاء وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ وَلاَ يَؤُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ The Great.

He does not take a year of drowsiness or sleep. He has what is in the heavens and what is in the earth, possessing and creating and being slaves. Their hands i.e. the creation and what is behind them i.e. from the affairs of this world and the hereafter, and they do not encompass anything of His knowledge, i.e. they do not know anything of His information except what He wills that He inform them of them with the news of the Messengers. His throne expanded the heavens and the earth. The seven heavens are in the throne, except for their abode, seven are thrown into a shield, and it does not come to it, their preservation weighs it down, meaning the heavens and the earth, and He is the Most High above His creation with great great subjugation.

And the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi at the end of every prayer, nothing stands between him and entering Paradise except death.

Ayat al-Kursi, which is verse number 255 of Surat Al-Baqarah in the Holy Qur’an, is of great importance to Muslims, and it has great merit.
