Mobile games have become home to some of the most diverse video games ever. You can literally find all the crazy ideas embodied in video games that promise to keep you hooked for countless hours. And while they are totally thrilling and fun, to say the least, we are here to talk about the scariest ones!
And fortunately, the mobile gaming industry comes packed with a ton of these games. So, if that’s something you are looking for, we have got you covered with our list of the top 5 most terrifying games for Android that are must-play for a good scare.
1. Granny Series
Starting off this list, we have the popular Granny series. For those who don’t know, Granny is a horror game series developed by DVloper (very innovative) for mobile devices. Set in a creepy old house, the game has you playing as a captive who must escape the house by solving a series of puzzles and avoiding the titular character, Granny, sometimes accompanied by Grandpa.
The Granny games are known for their creepy atmosphere and jump scares, and they can be quite challenging as you try to outsmart Granny and escape her clutches. If you're a fan of horror games and enjoy a good puzzle, you might want to give the Granny series a try. Just be prepared to jump out of your seat a few times!
2. Dead by Daylight Mobile
Dead by Daylight Mobile is one of my personal favorite games on this list, In this game, you play as one of several survivors trying to outsmart and outrun a killer who is trying to hunt you down. The catch is that the survivors are just regular people who don't have any weapons, so they have to use their wits and stealth to evade the killer and escape.
On the other hand, the Murderer (also controlled by a player) is a seriously messed-up individual who is armed to the teeth and has a variety of special abilities at their disposal. They can stalk their prey, lay traps, and even teleport around the map to catch the survivors off guard. It's basically like a horror movie, except you're the star and you have to try not to get murdered. Definitely, one of the best horror games, especially when you play with a group of friends.
3. Eyes
Eyes take a lot of inspiration from the classic horror game movies, where people end up in a big haunted mansion, that’s full of secrets, mysterious and of course, creepy old ghosts who haunt them for no reason. It might sound like “just another” horror game but it has quite decent jump scares and a ton of thrilling challenges.
The game offers a dreadful environment with a ton of challenging levels and monsters that haunt you throughout the game. While you came in the search of riches, the ultimate goal of your life becomes survival and that’s quite hard when you are constantly faced with danger.
4. Five Night at Freddy’s
I am pretty sure everyone knows about this one by now. Five Nights at Freddy's, or FNAF for short, is a popular horror video game series that has captured the imagination of gamers around the world. In this game, players assume the role of a security guard working the night shift at a haunted pizza restaurant called Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.
Your job is to survive for five nights as animatronic characters, who are supposed to entertain children during the day, roam the restaurant at night, and try to kill you. The mobile version of the game follows the same story and the same gameplay mechanics with more optimized controls for mobile devices. It has gained quite a reputation as a horror game, and many players have found it to be very scary.
5. Distraint
Last but not least, we have Distraint, a psychological horror adventure game initially developed for PC by Indie game dev Jesse Makkonen. It was released all the way back in 2015 and has since gained a lot of popularity among fans of the horror genre. The game puts you in the shoes of Price, an ambitious young explorer.
As Price, you are tasked with collecting unpaid debts from various clients. However, things take a wild turn when Price is sent to collect a debt from an old woman living in an abandoned building. It has quite a nice story with an equally compelling narrative. The game is known for its atmospheric and moody soundtrack, which helps to create a sense of tension and dread as you navigate through the building.
Conclusion
The world of mobile games is filled to the brim with many exciting and terrifying video games. And if you are looking to get your horror fix, these 5 games are sure to give you a good scare.
