  Comes with the AEM-7 and is pretty useful for workshop scenarios and routes. Scenarios are alright but the route looks iffy (makes sense since this was one of DTG's first routes). I use this route in a revamped format, but it's still good if you're just using it for assets or want to travel along the NEC from NY to PHL.

  This route is fun to drive. It is fun running the high speed Amtrak trains up and down between Philly and New York(and sometimes freight between other areas). The route includes an AEM-7 with accurately made cab and desgin along with detailed amfleet passenger cars with good sounds. The locomotive horn is the same as the SW1500 horn which has a long loop! The route has many NJT and SEPTA stations but none of that stock has been made for the route. The route is also poorly detailed in alot of areas such as an important intermodal yard in New Jersey just outside NY. This route is not the best! I sill recommend it because it can be fun to drive. DTG also created the section of the NEC from NY to New Haven which is better detailed(and I will review it because I want it for Christmas!) which has the new Amtrak ACS-64 and CSX SD40-2 along other locos made for it including Metro-North!

  This is by far, not my favorite route... The included train (AEM-7) is pretty trashy, with a TERRIBLE cab, really bad horn and bell sounds (SW1500 aliased), and the traction motors sound exactly like those from the BR101 from Classic European Assets. The route itself is pretty good, with high speeds, but it looks kindof bad, and theres not much to see. There is a bit of DLC for it though, including the newly re-worked Acela Express. All in all, this is not a great route, but yes, I would recommend it, but buy it as part of the USA collection...

  if you want high speed american trains. this is the route for you. but the route does have a lot of problems, that need DTG attention as soon as possible. the route it self is good. but far from the quality of newhaven. many sections of the route. are very long, and straight, and are great for testing trains like the TGV from railsim fr, or the german ICE trains.

  I love the actual train route, but I can name many things wrong with the simulator route. For one, Philadelphia, Newark, and New York are under the station but you can't see the platform or stations on most of the stations. You also derail a lot because the speed limits change. acela and aem-7 don't work with raildriver and shakes a lot when driving on the route. It is a nice route to have but if you are thinking about getting this route, get the NEC: New York -New Haven. it is waaayy better. I do not reccomend this route unless you want the aem-7 and the amfleets.

  Before it's Re-release: The route is nice. However, it's very buggy, but it's still playable, disptie of the surpirse singals and speed limits. Also, since this route goes out of NYC Penn, I don't like the way to get trains into Penn in the scenario editor, it's a pain. Overall I give this route a 11/17 Post Re-release The route has seen a small handful of improvments, such as a fix to the way trains are placed in Penn Station. However, other than that, the route is exactly the same as it was before DTG discontinued it. As for the AEM-7 (Although i'm not that happy that all the Amtrak ones have been retired), the cab is much better than it was before the update. Now, I give the route a 12/17

  This only covers Philadelphia to New York, so you can't go to Boston or Washington. But hey, you can ride the Acela (sold separately)! Make of that what you will.

  Map is interesting I can tell it is one of the older simulators if you just want to say you own the route then yes go-ahead and get it but if you need it to be perfect then this may not be your best thing to get.

  to many bugs some of the stations don't even show up, objects are floating in the air, don't buy this it's not worth the money

  Ah...the original Northeast Corridor. As someone who got this after getting New York - New Haven, I must say I like it. This rendition follows the ex-Pennsylvania Railroad New York to Washington main line from Philadelphia to New York. It is incredible with the amount of detail, even if some parts are incorrect, but that is just a nitpick. The route is also set up for running the EMD AEM-7, which was one of Amtrak's greatest locomotives ever produced. I do have a few minor quibs about it, from the horn and bell sounds not being even close to correct, to the alerter going off so quick, you don't have to acknowledge it, which is something the HHP-8, Acela Express and ACS-64 have, but corrected so you can properly acknowledge it. Another issue is the headlight, sometimes the headlamp won't even turn on. I have ran some scenarios with the headlight switched to on, but the Toaster is completely dim. No light. Despite these quibs, I'm not against running the model. The scenarios included are nice, but feel a bit short at times, but then again, that's why we have the Workshop, plenty of new scenarios are added to allow even more fun from working the HHP-8 and ACS-64 on the route, to operating NJ Transit services between Trenton and New York, or even deadheading from Morrisville Yard to Trenton to start a service to New York Penn. One minor issue is the speed limits being either incorrect or changing abruptly so you get punished for speeding even though the speed changed faster than you can brake for it. Despite these flaws, the NEC: NYP - PHL is a marvelous addition to the route, and allows for one to drive Amtrak trains on the former PRR. Really nice and well executed despite the issues.
