Các tính năng của Need for Speed: Shift

Need for Speed™ SHIFT is an award-winning authentic racing game that combines the true driver’s experience with real-world physics, pixel-perfect car models, and a wide range of authentic race tracks. Need for Speed SHIFT takes players in a different direction to create a simulation experience that replicates the true feeling of driving high-end performance cars.

Players are thrust into the loud, visceral, intense, athletic experience of racing a car on the edge of control from the driver’s perspective through the combination of perception based G-forces, the hyper reality of the cockpit view, and the brutal experience of a first person crash dynamic. Need for Speed SHIFT features an accurate, accessible physics-based driving model that allows you to feel every impact, every change of track surface and every last bit of grip as you push yourself to the edge.

  • True Driver's Experience - A variety of visual cues delivers the true driver’s experience including a three-dimensional HUD that mimics driver head movement, inertia and G-forces. The depth of field also adjusts based on the speed of the car; so when the car is traveling at high speeds the perspective will shift to the distance putting the car/cockpit out of focus.

  • Driver Profile - What kind of driver are you? Driver profile tracks the player’s evolution as a race driver from event to event. This system is made up of a driver’s personality on the track, their success rate and any profile points and badges accrued all of which work together to create a tailor-made career and game play experience. Driver profile is pervasive throughout all modes: career and online.

  • Dynamic Crash Effect - When the player hits a static object or opponent car, the player will feel like they are 'taking damage'. A combination of visual and audio effects will leave the player disoriented and briefly disrupt the race.

  • Total Customization - Need for Speed SHIFT features a comprehensive customization option that lets the player tailor every aspect of the cars performance and styling. Go under the hood to upgrade and tune your vehicle to increase its performance. The visual customization system allows players to personalize both the exterior and trick out the interior to reflect their individual style and preferences.

  • Photo-Realistic Cars and Tracks - Nearly 70 licensed cars are available including the Pagani Zonda F, Audi RS4, and Porsche 911 GT3 RSR. There is also over 15 real-world locations like Willow Springs and Laguna Seca as well as fictional circuits like downtown London and Tokyo.

This game is one of my all time favorite racing games. Unfortunately, EA will be damned for removing it from the Steam store. EA, stop being a fucking greedy low-skill company and do something about your services and products.

Playing this game in 2020. Still better than Payback, Heat and other sh**ty NFS games, that've been released in the past 5 years. EA should just bring back classic NFS U1/U2/MW on Steam and every1 will be satisfied...

A good balance between a racing sim and arcade. Need for Speed Shift is all about racing on a racetrack, and fighting through the pack to place in the Top 3. There is also drift mode, where you score the most combined points in three rounds to win. The driving physics are decent, not too bad, but not great either. There are a good selection of cars that you can own (although it sucks that you can only buy 1 unit of each car) and a range of real world tracks (Nurburgring, Spa, Silverstone, etc.). Those make a pretty good legal racing game. The annoying thing is cheap AI in car battle mode, especially in Autopolis GP. They can just tackle a tight hairpin (turn 4) at 100+ km/h without understeering... Also, there are some unfair car battle matchups, when 1 car is a lot faster than the other (Audi R8 vs Aston Martin V8 Vantage for example) and no matter how good your driving is, you'll still lose in the slower car (unless you play dirty). Overall, it is still a good racing game to play if you are looking for a mixture of simulation and arcadey style of racing.

A note in advance: I love NFS Shift, I think it's a fab example of a "sim-cade" racing game. However, Shift 2 Unleashed has quite literally all of the content from the first game and improves upon most of it in some way or another, -especially- the career mode. I simply can't recommend buying the original unless you're a collector or the type of gamer who enjoys playing through each game of an additive series to experience its evolution. If you've got a problem with me giving it a Negative, bitch at Steam for including a Neutral/Informational option for Curators but neglecting to add one for the actual reviews. With that out of the way, Need For Speed Shift is a fantastic mix between hardcore racing simulation and more accessible arcade racing. It's far more akin to Gran Turismo and Forza than it is to the arcadey and over-the-top action of other NFS games, and back when it released it was one of only a few sim-cade games available for PC. On the gameplay end it's pure fun. Cars handle realistically enough that you get that adrenaline-filled feeling of actually racing, while still remaining forgiving enough that you don't need to spend hours learning how to actually drive a racecar. Likewise, controls are designed to make using a controller viable, so you don't need to worry about forking out $250 for a race wheel. The cockpit view is incredibly detailed, the cinematic visual effects aren't overdone, and the sound design is spot-on, combining together to form an incredible sense of immersion. Your pilot's hands turn the wheel naturally instead of jittering all over the place (looking at you, Assetto Corsa), they even have animations for when you're switching gears! The visual effects really make you feel the shellshock of a crash, and while Depth of Field has never really been my thing, in this case I didn't find it at all obtrusive. There's a bunch of options for difficulty customization, so people who want a more simulation-leaning experience can turn off all of the various assists for a more hardcore challenge, while people more used to the grab-and-go feel of an arcade racer can turn additional ones on for a more familiar skill curve. In turn, opponent AI is well balanced. They don't drive in a beeline, actually make an effort to keep you from passing them, and they even make mistakes that can lead to some very entertaining crashes! Plus, if you find yourself dominating the track on Normal, you can safely bump it up to Hard without the AI turning into car-driving gods. There's tons of cars to choose from, from humble civvie stuff like the Honda Civic all the way up to hyper-fancy Lamborghinis and McLarens. Each car has its own individual handling model, and you genuinely feel the difference when you switch rides or are playing missions that force you to use loaner cars. Likewise, there's a great variety to the tracks. Plenty of iconic real-world tracks like the Spa GP, Donnington Park, and Nordschleife are wonderfully reconstructed, and then sprinkled among them you have some very well-made fictional tracks themed around racing on city streets. Finally, you're afforded an extensive suite of tuning options. Dozens of individual variables are available for you to tweak until you've got your car handling just how you want it to, and paired alongside a huge amount of rim, paint, and decal options you can really make your car stand out as your own. Of course, while the core gameplay is incredibly, this is by no means a perfect game. The career mode is honestly quite lacking, and turns into quite the slog if you decide to 100% it. First off, I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to properly play Drift mode due to the total lack of a tutorial for it beyond a short hint screen. Normally this wouldn't be too much of an issue, as you can safely skip over them and still reach the end of the game, but many of the 1v1 "boss races" are locked behind getting a podium finish on multiple Drift races. Also, there's a huge overuse of races that force you to use a specific car. These are fine in moderation to give you a more varied experience, but here they take up close to 50% of the campaign. You're constantly stuck using cars with handling that you may not enjoy, with no opportunity to tune them, and the AI loses a good chunk of its variance due to their driving style seeming to be per-car. As a result, the campaign slogs on quite a bit more than it really needs to. The 1v1 Car Battles likewise aren't the most balanced. Most of these are once again loaner car races, and more often than not one of the two cars available is just objectively better suited for the mission's given track. Likewise, your single opponent has their AI turned -way- higher than normal, pretty much forcing you to either drive a fully clean lap or find some way to flip your opponent's car in the first 10 seconds of the race. The car battles where you get to use your own car are far more enjoyable, but nearly all of them are locked behind completing Drift races, meaning any player not interested in Drift will miss out on playing them. While tuning option are plentiful, upgrades are lacking. You basically just buy the dozen or so upgrades in whatever order you want, marginally improving the car's performance each time. There's nothing interesting like flywheel options, the choice of whether or not to use a Turbine, or choosing between Works Conversion and speccing for Drag Racing. As mentioned earlier, the handling model is quite solid, but the physics of crashes and gravity get a bit wonky. While I personally found it incredibly entertaining that I could use my Lambo's low front end to scoop cars over me by hitting their rear bumper, I'm sure there's people who will find the hollywood-tier gravity physics offputting. Not neccesarily a negative, but definitely something to note. Almost-lastly, the campaign is -long-. Expect to replay the same tracks numerous times with different tiers or loaner cars. My nearly 40 hours of playtime was entirely spent in the campaign mode, and while the great gameplay kept me going it was certainly starting to wear on me towards the end. And lastly, it ends incredibly abruptly. An ordinary 5-lap race on a track you've already played like 6 times, against regular opponents, just with three boss AIs among the ordinary drivers instead of the usual one. In closing, NFS Shift offers an incredibly well-crafted and immersive sim-cade racing experience. The campaign suffers from some pretty bad pacing issues, but otherwise gives you a means of experiencing all the tracks in a structured manner. While over the years we've finally seem the sim-cade genre get more representation on PC, Shift still holds up among them as one of the greats. Just, y'know, consider getting Shift 2 instead of this, cuz it's better across the board. 8.6/10 Follow my Curator to be kept up on all my reviews, including stuff I ghost-write through Family Share! Need for Speed Shift is arcade mixed with simulation. If you played and like Project CARS, you will like Need for Speed Shift. Recommended if you own a steering wheel or a controller, not recommended if you are a keyboard racer.

The reviews on Steam for this game are NOT black and white. So, let me try to put it this way: Need For Speed: Shift is an AWFUL simulator, but a FREAKING AWESOME sim-cade. It clicked with me when I had put the ai on "Hard" and I suddenly started to struggle to beat Tier 1 and 2 races with my fully upgraded cars... So what do I mean exactly? Well, first of all let me preface this by telling you that I am currently playing with a controller. Still haven't bought a wheel yet, unfortunately. Having said that, I'm positive that "Hard" ai difficulty is actually "Really darn hard" where controller and keyboard are concerned... Needless to say, I can't comment on the wheel gameplay. You have to really push your limits on some races and the flaws on the physics begin to become apparent when you just can't seem to take corners as fast as the ai. Granted, not all races are like this... I managed to beat quite a few before giving up on "Hard", but that was exactly when it clicked with me. I was subconsciously playing this game for the humongous experience of driving some dream cars with an astonishing level of thoroughness given to them, while also having an absolute blast beating "newbies" left and right. Therefore, by upping the challenge, I was no longer having fun, and started to take it too seriously, thus getting frustrated and restarting races over and over, to reach that coveted podium, or to beat that rival, or to simply nail that first corner (while mad) without under-steering into another game, [strike]if you catch my drift[/strike]... suffice to say, it got quite stale quite fast... The positives of this game are overwhelmingly underrated, thus making me look the other way about its negatives (like the aforementioned lack of difficulty balance). The sound design here is spectacular. Truly ahead of its time. Hearing the engines thundering around you, the tyres screeching around corners, the crowds cheering in the distance, the groans you make when you smash your car, your team contacting you on the radio, and so on... The interior is painstakingly immersive. The feeling of speed, joined with the roars and motions the cars do on the tracks got me to smile quite often. The graphics have aged really well, they're definitely good enough for me. There is a plethora of cars to pick, and while I'm at it, there is just something alluring about the '67 Shelby, isn't there? Now some negatives for you to reflect: The game simply didn't understand that I wanted to play it with its graphics maxed out. I eventually fixed that, thankfully, but it was a nuisance. Drifting during a race was (the majority of the time) a terrible idea, and during the drifting-specific events, inconsistent. The ai are some naughty boys, sometimes they'll slam you from behind for no reason. *nitpick* I thought that the blurriness of the screen when you crash lingered for too long (but it was always a nice touch, as paradoxical as that may seem). And lastly, just for completeness sake I'll repeat myself: A: The physics particularly left a lot to be desired when I had to push my cars to their limits. And, B: To put it simply, "Normal" ai difficulty was a lot of fun but not challenging, and "Hard" was too challenging to be fun.
