  GAME IS "ABANDONED" The game as a Hitman game is good, but I can't recommend it in its actual situation. Awful disdain for costumers. The Contracts server are down since mid 2018, which means people who paid for the Contracts contents can't play it. It also means it's currently impossible to complete all the achievements, since a lot of them are about the Contracts features.

  I have played all the Hitman series so I was really looking forward to this game. And I was not disappointed I really loved the level designs and different ways of completing missions always trying to challenge myself to beat levels without killing anyone except the target which is a nice challenge or you can go full on gun blazing. The only thing I could say that I do not like is how the game is structured over the instinct meter when playing on higher difficulties making it impossible to walk past guards while being disguised. Overall this was a amazing game I have always loved the Hitman series and this was not a disappointment.

  It was worth it a few years ago, but now that the contracts servers are off, you can't get all the achievements nor can you upgrade your guns because of the offshore account that is connected to the contracts!

  You might have heard unsavory things about this game: "very un-hitman-like" or "too trigger-happy" or "dumbed down linearity". Those judgments are not without truth, however it is important to realize that this game isn't intended to be played like traditional Hitman (either Blood Money or Hitman World of Assassinations Trilogy), nor should you try to play it that way. This game isn't designed to be run with perfection/ghostly stealth mindset: nobody touched, no trace, no items taken. You can do it, definitely, but it's not fun. You know what's fun? Choking guards from behind a corner. Sparta kicking a guy down the gaping yawn of a cliff. Hiding your face right in time when somebody is about to get suspicious. Shooting a guy with your signature silverballer. Watching 47 calmly dead-eye 5 bad guys at once with his DOUBLE silverballers (that's right. you can use 2 pistols at once here, unlike the latest games). If you feel like you have to shoot to get out of sticky situation, just shoot. The guns are pleasant to use, it has nice sound design, as well as superb feel to its mechanics, in other words it feels satisfying to shoot. Do not worry, you are not pleasing any clients like in the other Hitman games, you are your own client in this one. Do what you must, utilize your whole improvised arsenal. Metal pipe, H.C. Andersen book, bong, scissors, screwdrivers, everything becomes lethal in the gloved hands of our bald friend. The downside is of course the absence of contract mode caused by the server ownership feud that was left unsolved, and the linear nature of the levels means youre doing a lot more of sneaking than assassinating, and levels are divided into many sublevels. But despite those things, I wish you can enjoy the game. This is after all an action game, and you're supposed to have fun with it. Let go of your hitman-ly conscience, garrote, stab, and shoot your way through Chicago and Hope. P.S.: You have to attempt Purist mode at least once. It's a whole different experience.

  While not a proper Hitman game, it's still a completely competent, solid action/stealth shooter bundled with a bunch cool ideas, surprisingly great AI which actually tries to flank and surprise you in combat (it's still totally a stealth game; combat is absolutely a last resort), impressive visuals and crowd technology, and a bunch of replay value. Fans of the original are probably going to hate it, understandably, but its ease of entry is a great place to start for newcomers to the franchise in preparation for the far more intimidating and imposing "open level" structure of the originals.
