  I saw friends of mine streaming the game and it looked fun... And I really wanted to like it... But honestly... No option to rebind the keys?!!! This is ridiculous nowadays! It has to be patched... My friends enjoy the game so I kept it but I really should have return it. Now if the keybinding issue is solved, I'll consider changing my review but for now, this is really making the experience painful (physically painful I mean, my wrist is killing me!) and not that enjoyable...

  [b]This hurts.[/b] This hurts because I love games like this, and there should be more. I am sorry to put a negative review, I would have put a neutral one here if that was possible. Diner Bros is a fun and entertaining game, evidently made to be played as 2-4 players. Like his cousin, Overcooked, it drags you into the world of the frenzy restaurants, but you need to be more active with the customers, which is nice, and it lets you play a "campaign mode", which is what attracted me and my girlfriend to purchase this game. The mechanics are easy if you played Overcooked. It's a nice and simple game with cute graphics, the only graphical flaw in my opinion are the colors a bit too "dull", however it might be just me. The difference between the customers is nice also -- always keep a ready salad for that athlete! However, this game lacks something since it's behind a 9,99€ price tag. Even though it's not much, it's not worth. What you see in the pics is what you get, literally. The campaign falls short. We finished it in 2 hours, 30 in game days. There is no restaurant-and player-customization where, in my opinion, was really needed. A bit more gestional game could have been better--"buy" some perks for each individual player, change the style of the restaurant, place new tables manually, customize the kitchen in your own way... Not only your restaurant could have felt more "yours", but also could have kept people busy doing so, since the campaign is literally 2 max 3 hours and there are not many different recipes. There are literally hundreds of possibilities to make this game better, but the devs decided to not implement anything like that. A fusion between Overcooked and something like Restaurant Empire could have meant the definitive game of this genre, but this is not. And, even though it's directly stated, you can't hire more staff if you play multiplayer, which imo is bad. Why? Because, even with the 3-star restaurant-the maximum available now-, the restaurant is really little, so the game forces you to play one cook and one waiter, because you don't have time to do both, and the kitchen is made for one person, it's clear. We, me and my girlfriend, had to replay some days, but the game is really easy when you get used to the mechanics (fking beer lol) and to the customers. We have not played yet the challenges, but we will do in the next days and this review could (hardly) change. Right now, we are just disappointed for the end of the campaign. When you complete the last quest, you just purchase the last upgrade and the game is ended. A pop-up comes out, thanking you to have played the game. But it's not really much. You can continue to play the campaign, but it's meaningless. It feels like something else was (is?) planned, but maybe the rush to publish the game-or the laziness-stopped that. Also, we had problem with one joystick. We used a PS4 one and the menus were always scrolled down, it wasn't unplayable, but still a bug. Right now, I can't recommend this game and I wouldn't purchase it again. I am not going to refund-but I could-because it's just not right, but if I was one of those dishonest customers in game, I would. lol. I hope for new content but we'll hardly see something I think.

  Really fun! If you're looking for local co-op party games, or co-op simulation game, I recommend it! PROS: -Fun premise -Upgrade your diner for larger space, more ovens/fryers, and other equipment -Different types of customers that keep you on your toes -Chop ingredients on any countertop -Cute art -Great co-op CONS: -Somewhat short campaign mode -Could use more upgrades, or at least choices of what you want your diner to focus on -Cannot toggle upgrades on or off once you've gotten them, or customize menu -Food icons above the customers' heads are really small and hard-to-read when you're rushing -Technical problem: This game overheats my laptop and causes it to go to sleep mode after about 25 minutes of play? It also heats up my girlfriend's desktop PC a bit Comparisons to Overcooked: Normally I wouldn't compare 2 games so directly but I think given the gameplay, it's really natural that everyone in the reviews is comparing and contrasting it to Overcooked. I adore Overcooked, and I wouldn't say Diner Bros is better, but if you're dying for something else to play co-op and you like restaurant games, it's fun. Overcooked focuses on gimmicked maps [some of which I find too frustrating], and Diner Bros focuses on you playing in your own diner which you upgrade from the ground up. No hazards or risk of your character dying like there is in Overcooked. Enjoy!

  This game could have benefitted from an "Early Access" label. We were quite bummed out to see how short it is (finished in under 2 hours) but since it's not labeled as early access, we figured that was it for the game... It's good to know that more content is coming, but as of right now I still have to say "wait and see" as there just isn't enough content. That said, the game plays really well and it quite enjoyable for that amount of time. It's nice to see an endless mode added, and some more customer types. My hoped-for improvements (and I'm sure there's a lot of pipe dreams in this list): - Part of restaurant management is the layout of the restaurant. It would be nice to be able to design the restaurant layout at the end of each day, allowing us to choose where the tables, counters, friers, etc. are. Even the walls and design of the buildings would be nice. Of course each piece should cost money, so it's important as to what you choose to add and when. - Workshop support, at least for creating different recipies, should be implemented. - Choose which markets you advertise to and pay for advertising. This would allow you to get more of the desirable customers if you're willing to spend the money on it. - The ability to set the prices for menu items, which also affects the type of customers you receive and how many. The player would need to find the best balance each day, or if they want to avoid the "punks" maybe just make everything higher priced but receiving less customers. Maybe it's too frantic, and you want less customers so you up the prices. - Obviously we need to be able to get up to a 5-star restaurant. - A freeform campaign, or more 'free play' mode where you can choose what additions to buy for your restaurant without restriction. Currently you're limited to what you can buy quite strictly, only being able to buy certain upgrades at certain points. - Hiring more AI staff in singleplayer and multiplayer. Maybe just simple tasks, like a busboy, a drink server/order taker, a runner, a burger chef, a fry cook, etc. This should cost money each day, making progress slower but a bit easier, so it's self-balancing in a way. - Paying rent each day. There has to be a base requirement to make end's meet so you can't just up prices/hire staff without actual consequences. Even if it never goes in my dreamed direction of adding a bit more strategy to the restaurant management, I look forward to seeing what is added in the future!

  Had a lot of fun playing this with family/friends last weekend. I'm a big fan of overcooked and cook serve delicious and I feel like diner bros combined the best elements of them. Great job on the different type of NPC customers that change up the gameplay. I'd really like to see the management side get expanded with added depth and player freedom. This game is all about coop and having a more sandbox approach to management choices really gets everyone involved. This is where cook serve delicious shined. I think a day cycle timer with daily rushes in campaign mode would be a nice feature like CSD. Placeable counters, tables etc. would add an element of management and strategy, but not a huge priority. Current gripes: -Yellow drinks and beers look too similar, especially on customer icons. Possibly make yellow drink green or purple. -Afaik I can't get rid of burnt food and or mistake meals and its annoying, a trash bin is needed to throw these away. -Objects sometimes disappear when dropped, is this a bug or part of the game?   I got this game wanting to see how it compared to Overcooked. I tried playing with a pro controller, and it took too long to position the character to access the different items in the game. I resorted to a mouse and keyboard although the game suggested just the keyboard (which would be the same issue as the pro controller.) While I enjoyed the tutorial and the first day, I found that it progressed difficulty way too quickly. I think I'll stick to Overcooked.

  I like the game, but it would be nice to get more help in the kitchen to take care of the thieves and homeless. Also, once you've done the campaign on single player you can't go any further because even though it says "Co-Op recommended" it is actually required to do the endless and challenges. So basically, unless you have friends who have this game to play with, once you've done the campaign you can't go any further and you have to buy Sushi Bros.

  Is it Overcooked-Lite? Yes. Is it hella fun to play with your better half when jonesing hard for some Overcooked action? HELL YES.
