  I'm actually enjoying this game. I love simulations and this one is pretty cool. It only took me manually identifying about a thousand crabs to figure out I didn't need to run the entire boat by myself and that I could hire crew to do things. Hiring someone to sort the crabs for me was the best money I ever spent. Now, I can sit back and watch the crew do the majority of the work and I can focus on my smoking and drinking habits while I rake in the money. I can't wait until I have enough money to afford cocaine.

  UPDATE: Since writing this review, the new devs have introduced themselves in the Discord, and have been putting out patches in order to help the game play. They have been more talkative in Discord, and more open about what is going on behind the scenes. While the game is still not (in my opinion) ready for release, at least the devs are talking and putting in the effort to show us that they do care. I still cannot in good faith recommend this game as a full release until it is ready. I will update again later on down the road. ORIGINAL: I have over 53 hours into this game so far. I bought it in alpha because it has AMAZING potential, and I even joined the Discord. The old Devs were talkative, and seemed to be on top of pushing updates and bug fixes. They then decided to push the full release, even though it is nowhere even close to being ready. As soon as they put out the full release, they informed us that there are new devs and they are off the project. Since then we have had barely any communication from the new devs, no updates other than a broken boat DLC that even breaks the game and the other boat, and no matter how many times we post the same bug reports over and over they just ignore us. The only stable version is the public BETA and even then it's riddled with issues. The crew wont do what they are supposed to, people spawn in crab pots, the crane goes all sideways, you fall through the map into a void of nothing...and the list goes on and on and on. They won though...they got my money, they got plenty of other people's kickstarter money and then ditched us with Devs who dont give to shits about us or the game. I will update this in the future if things change, but for now...please dont give these people any of your hard earned money...they do not deserve a dime after how they have screwed us. TL:DR; Waste of money, Devs don't care about us or the game, only fed excuses, riddled with bugs and issues, BETA is more stable than retail.

  Seems the only thing the developers are doing at the moment is fishing for your money... Still if you buy it you have an opportunity to catch crabs along with your fellow seamen, have a look at them and then sell them for no point at all. in my opinion this is on the back burner for the developers other games which they also currently have in development (Dog Trainer and Model Builder) im a firm believer on finishing what you start and i get the feeling this is going to be one of those is it done yet in 2025 I will gladly change my review if im wrong.

  The game is being worked on by a new developer and you can really tell it has made a difference. They are dedicated to fixing this bug mess and in the near future we will truly have a playable game. Today they released a beta update fixing the save/load issues that kept this game from having a chance. With more work it could really turn out to be a diamond in the rough.

  I don't often write reviews but people seem to be hammering this game for not being a game from the past and that doesn't feel right to me. I never played the previous game so I guess I'm coming to this with no expectation and for me so far it's been enjoyable. If you like the kind of games where you zone out and chill to tasks like ETS 2, CMS, etc. then you know what to expect here, it has the same kind of vibe and it's easy to be immersed. Graphically for me with everything maxed it's actually really pretty and runs very smooth. Biggest issue for me so far was that the tutorial missed some very useful elements that would have made life a little easier (like why doesn't it reference the game mechanics guide under tab) but I got by. It took me a while to realise you can drive the boat so I understand why a lot of reviews seem to think you can't but it also shows people aren't giving it a fair shot before damning it. Devs also seem to be very community focussed and active so far and that is to be applauded. For an EA game this feels about right and I'm looking forward to seeing it progress towards release. For those of you that wanted an update of a previous game I guess this is not for you. Oh, and F2 hides HUD for all you screenshot junkies :)

  Not Worth the headache buying this game . so many bug it never should have been released. Tilt table freezes up , the sorting table stops working often. the crane don't work half the time , and the biggest problem is the hook /winch line to hook the basket/pod on to the tilt table , . got 22 .6 hours on this game and 20 hours was trying to get glitches released by saving game and reloading the saved game. sometimes it worked out by loading up saved game but more often it didn't.. total waste of $$ , DO NOT BUY THIS CRAP!!! Plus there is so many other issues with crashes. TOTAL THUMBS DOWN !! My RATING on this game is a 2 out of 10

  The devs seem to have abandoned what could have been a good game. I have only played for about 12 hours, and I have faced so many bugs its absurd. Right now, there is a pot on the deck that is empty but can't be used because the game claims there are crabs in it. The crew mates' tasks are poorly thought out. They will always try to use the same machine, the crewman who is throwing the line doesn't stand at the rail so has to move to the rail every time a pot reaches the front of the boat, unless you are travelling in first gear, they can't get there on time. I want to fish at "Edgar speed". The crew mates will sort crab but cannot put crab in the hold, they can put pots on the launcher but won't repair the pots or launcher and instead will stand still while everything is broken. This game could have been so much more and if the devs let the community get to it I am sure it would have been, but I am pretty sure they have abandoned this game. Steam is becoming Abandonware city with so many of the games in my collection being half finished piles of cash grabs. I think Deadliest Catch is heading into my pile of abandoned games so if you have not bought it yet I would suggest you don't. If you have already bought it, sit with me a while and let's hope that one day, in the future, someone can fix this game so it works as it should.

  Game overall is good, But there are a lot of glitches. Save the game and come back and the crab in your tank are gone, or the string you set is gone. Also it'd be nice too be able too fish for other crab than just King Crab

  Do you remember "Deadliest catch:Alaskan storm" from 2007-ish? Well, forget it. This is a loneliness and darkness simulator. Seriously, no matter how high sun is, how many lamps are on, it's horribly dark. Crew can be hired, and it even does some work, but.... In my experience, captain had to steer the vessel (which felt incredibly arcady), then run forward to grappling hook, catch the pot (at this point crew kicked in and started actually working), then deposit sorted crabs, decide what to do with the pot (i.e. actively rebaiting it), and then returning to the wheelhouse (which is what? right, daaaaaaaark!) and driving (not sailing, not floating, just driving - it feels like toy car, not 700-ton trawler) to the next buoy. It's very detailed though, and I imagine it might be a good fun in coop mode (I suspect that's the main plan). Also this game probably have most beautiful water. But still, at this point it is technical demo, not a game.

  RUBBISH if you want to play deadliest catch get a copy of Alaskan storm The name of the boat does not appear the crew will not hook the pot because its not in range even tho its right next to the boat. the game is buggy and full of glitches this is the worst game iv ever had the misfortune of playing refund requested
