Some bugs.. Hiring Adventurers even though it say cost 400gold, turns out its free. Some events arent playable. like the one in the cave. Will just stuck if u engage in the event. that being said, game is very new. It's playable and scratches my itch. U recruit adventurers to restore your guild. U can change your members appearance and names. I am so far loving this. Well its early access so expect some bugs but u can press "f1" to immediately report any bugs u encounter. Edit : im 30hrs + into this game, still hopefully far from completed. Bugs i reported above was already fixed in less than a day. Shows the DEV is really invested in their game. Right now i'm average level 6~7 on adventurers with recognized reputation and 33 days in game. Hope there is alot more content ahead :D That said i hope maybe in future can add some competitiveness. (Single player) Like having arena and other guild to compete with ! Really loving this game. The world is so full of MMORPG games nowadays due to monetary reasons and there is less and less amazing single player game like this! Hopefully you will get more than enough support to continue developing this game ! This is one of my fav game atm ! I'm soo hooked to it!! Completed act 1( the current in game content is up to here), almost 50 hours. bugs reported almost usually get fixed in a day. i love this game, having to have many members, all of them can have potential relationship with others etc.. sadly its missing something idk what. there isnt much replayability aspect. still a great single player game well worth the price tag. 8/10

Really enjoying this. If you're a roleplayer who likes customizing their characters and looking for a "run the guild game" , then this game is for you. You have the option to change your guild members' name, appearance, and backstory. Customize their skills on level up. Change classes. Characters develop affinities and relationships - both good and bad. Lots of little details and activities to make your time as Guild Master both fun and interesting. Battles are tactical turn based, triggered by making contact with a monster group while wandering on a quest map. Game is fairly stable. Had one lock up while trying to rebind the keyboard controls in the middle of a battle. Other than that, no problems. Lots of fun. Looking forward to future updates.

Played only a short amount so far but definitely plan to return and play much more. First impression is very positive so I'm leaving a review to help the dev out as it seems he made an awesome RPG here! Fascinating and fun exploration right from the start and more crunchy RPG elements than you can shake a level 1 Stick at! Thank you GreenGuy for the cool game!!

I have played 82.5 hours over 10 days since I bought this game, so basically 8 hours a day for 10 days straight, it's that addictive with that "one more turn" feel. Even in early access this is a blast to play. The game is easily one of the best D&D games I have played in a long time. The UI is well laid out, big, easy to see and read, and the dev, Green Guy, is constantly improving it. All the systems work well. I have run into very few typos and grammatical errors, and no crashes, freezes, etc., which for EA is amazing. I have used the very handy F1 key to report issues and ideas to the dev (which are frequently added or fixed overnight by the dev in small update patches, very impressive). Green Guy is very approachable and active in the Stream threads. You can talk with various characters throughout your guild, from the merchant, blacksmith, Alchemist, to various trainers, etc. The dialogue is well written, low brow, cheeky and fun. The music is OK and fits the game. The artwork is very nice and better than the more-standard, pixel art used for similar games, which I really don't like. The tactical battle quest maps are fun, varied and tricky with lots of loot, enemies, traps and surprise events. The combat is well done using ring menus to take actions like buffs, attacks, drink potions, etc. You review and hire potential guild members in the Tavern (try to pick adventurers with all positive green traits and a star in one of their abilities and over 30 points over their six abilities). You can make your guild member adventurers happier by buying them drinks, paying them bonuses, giving them time off from questing, heal them, etc. You can send them on main quests, side quests, and minor missions to give them experience to upgrade their levels and skills. My 35 guild members are divided into seven 5-man teams and are currently levels 10-20. There is so much to do each turn, from upgrading your guild, to sending member adventurers on quests and missions, as well as training, upgrading class, adding skill points, etc., to reviewing potential hires, buying drinks, eating lunch with feuding members, giving your best adventurers special names (giving them additional perks), building teams, selecting team leaders, giving the teams names and banners you design, making potions, buying and selling at the Merchant, blacksmithing weapons, armor, etc., to honoring the deceased. You can currently raise an adventurer up to level 24 and still get trait points. With every couple of level-ups you get trait points to improve offense and defense skills, buffs, etc. You can level your adventurers up from warriors to Defenders, Paladins, Arcane Knights, Knights and your Rogues and Archers to Assassins and Rangers. There are Priest/Bishop/Saint classes, as well as Mage/High Mage and Bard classes. All have their own strengths and weaknesses. You can even pick up a few free adventurers during various quests and dialogues that have their own special skills. I past the first true trial against the first boss (The Robber King), an epic battle that had me using all the potions I could carry into the fight. I have pasted a few more since as there are more on the way to level 20. The dev is currently working on adding additional higher level content. There are a lot of upgrades for your defender/knights, rogue/assassins, archer/rangers, mages, priests, etc. I assume more classes and feats will be added according to D&D lore. If you want to have some fun without all the high-priced, Baldur's Gate 3, D&D type style, then this game is and will be a fun little escape from reality for a long time to come. I can't wait see what the dev, Green Guy, adds from here. This game is worth every penny at full price and a steal on sale. You will be playing this game for years to come and can even enjoy it with your children. Enjoy!

    General Overview

Strong recommendation for all fans of turn-based tactical combat. This review is made during the early access period, after the Saintess patch. I bought this for when I was travelling for a few days, so that I’d have something to play on my laptop (which is woefully inadequate to play Baldur’s Gate 3 on). The fact that I have been home for several days and haven’t played BG3 once should tell you how strongly I recommend this game. The game has you recruit a roster of adventurers, and send them on various Quests to gain experience, gold, and advance the story. Quests advance the day, and you will have more adventurers than you can send on a quest, so there are also Assignments that you can send adventurers on. These don’t require your input, but will usually take several days, and aren’t always successful. You are also responsible for ensuring the adventurers are paid, equipped, trained, and happy. I would say it’s maybe a 3:2 split between Quests (combat and roaming the maps) and town building (talking to trainers, levelling up your adventurers, sending adventurers on assignments). There are TONS of things to learn and do, but you are exposed to them gradually without feeling like you’re being spoonfed. No long and forced tutorial, just gradual exposure to the lore and gameplay in a really thoughtful and natural way. Story-wise it doesn’t take itself too seriously- expect archetypes like the secretive rogue, the spoiled princess, and the paladin (my favourite) that I keep expecting to shout “Deus vult!” This all fits together really well with the bright art style, but despite the somewhat silly yet endearing characters the story also includes darker twists- betrayal, human sacrifice, torture, and death are all part of the story thus far. The shifts in tone are well managed and don’t seem forced. Although you are playing as the Guild Master, you don’t select the responses you make. The overarching story is on rails, but you can decide how you make the journey and how long it takes. The developer is AWESOME. Click on “View update history” and you will see why- this game is a labour of love, and is constantly getting improvements. I’ve suggested things that have been implemented within 24 hours, and exchanged a few emails with the GreenGuy himself where he has offered input and explanations. The game just keeps getting better and better, both in terms of the tactical options as you progress and the constant dev updates.

    The Good

<*> Graphics/art style – I find it really appealing- great use of colour, very appropriate for a high fantasy setting. Despite the bright palette, the story has some darker undertones. I liked the balance of the two. <*> Classes – Great variety, and you can make lateral changes between classes to access different ability trees, based on stats. I also like the randomized perks and quirks that characters come with, as this encourages me to recruit new adventurers even if they’re at a lower level. <*> Combat – So satisfying, especially once you have more advanced abilities and strong relationships between your party. More on that below! <*> Relationship system – Plenty of opportunities exist to make your adventurers like each other, and this has tremendous benefits during battle. When you’re attacking, a percentage chance will display on top of the other characters that are also in range to attack the enemy, and the percentage is based on their relationship with the attacking adventurer. This can lead to exciting chain attacks against bosses. At the start of each combat round, there can also be quick dialogue sequences between adventurers, which can result in regaining Bravery Points. <*> Bravery Points – Such a good system! These are based on mood and willpower, and can give you an opportunity to regain ability points so you can take an extra action, or move twice, or… well, there are some other options, but those usually seem like the best ones :) <*> Adventurer interactions – I like how during camp or battle my adventurers will chat with each other, but my favourite is a Trait-based interaction that occurs at the start of a new day. It’s called “Uncomfortable Training”, and involves someone with the “Loves Pain” perk that only pretends to dodge the blows during the training exercise. I would love to see these interactions expanded upon, as there are so many traits, classes, and attributes, as well as combos of all of the above that could be used to trigger them. <*> Enemies – A good variety are present, and some require a careful approach. The game allows you to see the abilities of enemies, even boss types and enemies you haven’t encountered before, and this can help you plan. I recall a time during a boss battle when I lost a valuable adventurer to a rogue type character that had an ability that gave him a warp-like movement to go beyond my tank and one hit crit my wizard. Nothing about it seemed unfair: I had neglected to check that enemy’s abilities because I was fixated on the boss. I will admit to reloading and trying a different approach though :D <*> Maps – Moving around during quests is fun. You can avoid enemies, camp, disarm traps, open chest and doors, and complete the occasional story sequence, or rush the main objective. Lots of loot and dice rolls. Good variety of ecosystems to explore as well, each with its own appropriate resources. <*> Battle maps – Grid based, pretty, and of varying size. No complaints at all! I like the use of obstacles to create choke points + interactable objects that can be used once to replenish health or SP.

    Suggested Improvements

<*> Ultrawide Monitor – Would be great to see a wider (see what I did there?) range of resolutions supported. <*> Gamepad – Often my preference for this type of game, as long as it’s done properly. <*> Dialogue log – It’s easy to miss dialogue, would love to review it afterwards. <*> General balance – Not sure exactly what I’d change, but in my main party my ranger can hit 3 enemies each round consistently, my High Mages (yes, I have two) can each hit 3+, and my Guardian can hit 1 enemy, 2 if he counters. He’d be more viable if he had a 2 AP attack, or more movement… It seems like he’s always late to the party, so to speak. <*> Spelling – Frequent errors, but I’ve been told this is being worked on. Almost no grammar mistakes, which I would’ve expected to be more common than spelling, so that’s a plus. <*> No auto-advancing of days – I feel the game wants me to have more than one party of adventurers, but there isn’t as much incentive to do so. As it stands, with enough money I can forcibly heal and motivate my primary team and have them always ready to go on Quests. When I send them instead on Assignments and lose access to them for a few days, I tend to pick lucrative but easy(ish) Quests that I can breeze through for my secondary team, who I don’t really care about otherwise. If I could send the secondary team out on a Quest the same day that the primary team went on one, this might change. Hmmm. I don’t know, it just doesn’t seem like there’s enough reason at this point for me to care about more than the 4-6 adventurers that I am currently running with.

This game is wonderful and exactly what I was looking for. The developer has been making almost daily updates and is very involved with the community. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the gameplay once you dove a little deeper. You hire adventurers and put together teams, sending them out for resources while you use those resources to upgrade your guild/equipment/adventurers. The difficulty is spot on. Different character builds are neat with plenty of classes to choose from. Skill trees to customize, equipment stats to optimize..all the usual stuff. My favourite part is the character traits and relationships. The adventuring party members start to bond & fight better together. You form parties and favourites. Due to the nature of the game, you'll have more than one party serving your guild. It made the characters feel real which was a good addition. All in all, this is my favourite genre and this game nailed the niche. It's got 100% positive reviews at the time of writing this review for good reason.

Honestly this game is really good. It feels a little clunky at first, but once you get used to the controls it smooths out. There is a LOT of depth here. classes and growth spec. are deep. once you get your parties figured out and configure some good builds, the game totally opens up. The Dev is great and updates constantly. It's so nice to submit a report and then see the same issue fixed within a day. This was money well spent, and I'm very excited for next chapters which will be done soon.
