  Despite sinking in so many hours into this game I still haven't beat it. And it is not because it is a difficult game, it isn't. I just found it boring. The game play is slow-paced and you have to take it slow and timing is everything. I understand what kind of game the developers were making, it just doesn't fit my playstyle. I fell asleep many times playing it. I'm entitled to my opinion because I played the game and paid for a copy of it. If the game developer cannot handle criticism then that is their issue. And many many hours passed by because I was sleeping while the game was running. The game dev. obviously didn't read my post properly.

  Hit or a Miss

  This isn't your typical Metroidvania. It's an action puzzle platformer, which has a lot of interesting aspects. It's basically linear and boring over time, and while there are some really nice level ideas and power-ups to be acquired, there's just too much frustrating stuff going on that prevents me from sitting down to enjoy it. Sure, the dialogue between the characters is okay, and the utilisation of each character makes the boss fights in the late game a lot more intriguing than the earlier levels, but it's still not that engaging for someone who isn't interested in the game's aesthetically beautiful retro style, but more interested in good level design, a great map, good understanding of where things are and a rewarding sensation of progression, rather than wasting 10 minutes to solve a reward room, only to have the item for a heart container vanish upon completion, without the ability to reacquire it, unless you do the room again.

  Conclusion

  Personally, I couldn't get into it, and while it did manage to draw me in for a while, I have too little motivation to continue.

  I just saw this game on twitter and loved the art, but after playing it for a while I must say that the mechanics and the feel of the gameplay is really smooth and nice. For me that's the best part of the game.
