  The game is helping me heal from losing my real dog of 15 years old(13 years with me 2 years on the street and as a rescue dog). I lost my dog in December a few days away from christmas, due to cancer and degrading health. Haven't felt like gaming too much, saw this game on sale, and its helpful just to go through the motions. Is the game the best game ever? No but it doesn't need to be, its made a few good choices and its early enough access for a sub 20 usd buy, that its easy just to justify buying.

  This is such a cute and nice game! I really enjoy it so far. This game is clearly defined and described by its title and it's what you would expect. You improve and develop your own animal shelter and raise both dogs and cats to take care of them and find them forever sweet and loving homes to individuals and families as well. The choice is yours at the very beginning of the game if you want to first take in cats or dogs but eventually the game will unlock and allow you to do both after doing a checklist and some tasks to get you to know pretty much the basics of the game. Some of the things you can do in the game are: -Take in animals and feed them and play around with them, there are many different toys and things that dogs and cats normally play with such as balls, bones, scratch posts, lasers etc. - Be a veterinarian and try to improve the cats or dogs health by bandaging up their wounds, using tweezers to take out ticks, blood samples and blood testing and putting eye drops in the animals eyes. As well as give them medicine and pills to get better. (This requires the vet building to be purchased and unlocked and placed in the yard) -A photo studio which I absolutely love and adore as you can put various outfits on the pets and have the animals do different poses and etc. -A dedicated washing building to clean the dogs. -An included building mode to place things where you want them but you have to gain expansion tickets or you can buy some with in game currency in order to expand your shelters land. You will get expansion tickets as you improve and develop your own shelter for free. -Order refills and products you need to take care of your shelter animals. You have to just as in real life pay attention and give love and care for each of your animals. If you don't and you ignore them or even forget, the animals will get taken away from you after a certain period of time. You also take photos of your animals by using a camera and until you are able to buy and place the photo studio you would have to buy a point and shoot camera that prints out photos and scan them into your office computer. But once you scan them in, they will be on your game as it saves. But once you get the photo studio you get a much better camera and it automatically uploads to the PC in the photo shoot building. As far as the adoption process goes, you basically create advertisements and upload the pets photos and go through people who are interested in adopting those specific animals or it can be that they are interested in any dog or cat that you may have. But you have to sort by traits by what the person wants, and what the cat or dog has and you have to basically decide who is best fit for each other. The traits are automatically determined in game, but you still have to decide by your judgement what is best. You don't need to fufill all the traits but its best if you get some matching from my experience and the adopters will give you money if they really enjoy and like the animals. If you really enjoy and adore pets/animals like I do, I would really recommend picking up and trying out this game, and there is a demo available for free as well.

  The core idea is not bad. But your shelter feels more like a fast-food restaurant than an animal shelter. The time that animals stay in your shelter is far too short, you take care of them for a few minutes and they're ready for adoption. The lack of an in-game day/night cycle doesn't help either. Make the stay of each animal a bit longer because the pacing for sheltering each individual animal is too fast. Developing the traits feature more fully so that it is actually shown through the animal's actions instead of it only being text on a screen. Adding intimate interactions with the animals, such as checking their bandages regularly, or even unlock patting when the animal's intimacy is high enough, instead of just adding food and water to bowls and cleaning up poop.

  Great game for animal lovers! I'm glad I got it even after seeing a negative review (in a sea of mostly positive ones). I like that the graphics are rather realistic. The graphics are not that buggy for me, except my shampoo became temporarily invisible after I moved the washing building, but it came back after I reloaded my save. Although I haven't gotten bored yet, I can see how it can be a bit repetitive after a while. It would be great if there's more story, progression and/or events. Suggestions: - Add ability to rename animals after seeing what they look like - I named a cat Marmalade and she turned out to be black haha! - Would be nice if we can make the Animal Shelter more comfortable for the animals as we gain more money/reputation. E.g. indoor rooms instead of cages, carpets/mats instead of cardboard, nice flooring and wallpaper instead of concrete, more plushies/toys. And these objects can add to their Comfort/Happiness level. - More interaction between animals (e.g. play together), and between animals and objects (e.g. lie down on beds) - Train animals to make them more adoptable (e.g. reduce negative traits, gain positive traits, learn tricks) - Personality affects their behaviour (e.g. quiet dog will not bark, energetic dog will run around more) - Add ability to hire staff/volunteers who can help you take care of animals (I feel it gets a bit much after 2 dogs and 2 cats) - Add ability to take dogs for walks - Make rooms movable even with animals inside - Add fosters - Add ability to keep one as your own pet - Add more dog models, e.g. poodles, golden retrievers - I'm sad one of my dogs destroyed the alligator toy! Can I buy another one? It was so cute. (Perhaps some of these are already available but I haven't gotten to it yet as I just started playing.) Thank you developers!

  It is good considering the price. I wish there was more different species of animals. and i wish you had to start from scratch, so the office isnt decorated, and you had to do that yourself. But overall its a good game.

  I wanted to love this game, I've been following it ever since the first teaser. Unfortunately after giving almost 30 hours, I cannot recommend it. There's just nothing here. To start: the game is nonfunctional and the devs do not care. It has been almost unusably glitchy since launch, and it has not been improved in all this time. Items and animals spawn and despawn at will, and the player often gets stuck in one position and can't move, making it so you have to go back to the main menu without saving and losing the progress you've made. A recent common glitch was people's ENTIRE SAVES including mine being wiped after buying the DLC. The devs give a useless response that doesn't solve the issue. Then they say to talk to them on their discord which they provide no link to. They released a nonfunctional game, and then had the nerve to release a DLC including puppies and kittens, which should have been in the main game anyway. And the DLC is just as bland and uninteresting as the rest of the game, and essentially adds nothing but more glitches. There's minimal mechanics, mostly just feed, wash, treat medical issues, and adopt out. These are very grindy and mostly uninteresting. There's no variety that makes anything interesting. All the animals look and act the same with zero AI that gives them any sort of tangible personality. They're also not very cute, with the cats being outright ugly. There's very little skin variation on the animals, so you get the same looking animals with the same names over and over. The dialogue and stories were clearly not written by a native english speaker, which itself is fine, except it's incredibly clunky and reads like it was written by a bot. There's no day/night cycles, no weather, just an endless day of a rundown shelter on the ugliest looking main road you've ever seen. Though you can gain "reputation", there's no real rewards for doing anything in the game. The decorations and furniture you can buy are not interactive and just take up space. It's just... bland. Boring. Grindy. There's nothing here. The IDEA of the game was great, but this is a poor game for even being early access, which it isn't. For some poorly thought out reason, they actually made this the final release. I think all the positive reviews are based on the hype and fun of being able to play with animals, but have not actually played much of the game. At best it functions like the type of mobile game you'd play to pass time while waiting in the doctor's office. If you'd like a handful of hours of mindless repetitive meh-ness and developers who have no interest in anything except taking your money, this is the game for you.   I have to agree with the other negative reviews here. I was really looking forward to the game but I have to say, I feel like I paid $20 to play the demo on repeat. I did expect a lot more for sure, although I'm not sure what. The thing that annoyed me the most was how long it takes to adopt out animals IF you're trying to match well with an owner. I've placed repeated ads and still not had an appropriate owner come up for the animal. Very boring and frustrating. I found the whole game very repetitive, get animal, give food, water and a pat. Play a bit. Take a photo. Adopt out after an hour of waiting for and going through owners to find a decent match. Repeat forever. Occasionally you can take an animal to the vet or dog wash. I never got the photo studio working properly although I'll admit I was already bored by then. I love sim games but this one is lack luster. Another reviewer said "Are the people leaving positive reviews playing the same game as me" and I feel the same. I think my daughter will enjoy it once shes a little older so maybe theres a market for kids, but it definitely got old quick for me.
