  I see a lot of positive reviews for this game, and although I don't dislike the actual game content itself. The price for this game is way too high for what it is. This is a $15.99 game $19.99 at most and even 15.99 is too generous. You can tell this was meant for mobile. The graphics look like IOS graphics mirrored to a Desktop computer. They don't look like PC graphics. Even the game play and the way it's designed feels like it was meant for mobile. If you're going to charge PC prices then it should be an actual PC game and not a cheap money grab.

  So this negative review comes with a big caveat- which is that I would absolutely give it a big thumbs-up, if the developers didn't ABSOLUTELY NEGLECT THE DESKTOP VERSION in favor of their mobile version. Considering this game is more-or-less expensive for the genre, I feel very offended and frustrated with the fact that the developers blatantly favor adding content and updates to the mobile version (which to my best knowledge is FREE to download- albeit with in app purchases, however this does not whatsoever justify this situation). When I saw they posted an update in December, I was so happy, thinking that we would FINALLY get the jumping features that the mobile app has had for some time now- however I was sorely disappointed to see no such thing. Nothing in this update really adds any content that adds significant value beyond the base game. What I mean by this complaint is: Currently once you beat all the levels and get all level 10 horses with good stats, there is not much else left for you really (which doesn't take all that long). Even with these updates, there's nothing really new for me to do- which is such a horrible let down after all of this time waiting. In the mobile game, they got cross-country/steeplechase type races & jumping stats- so a whole entire new set of challenges both in the actual races and breeding/stats. Additionally, they get a pasture that I believe is for retired horses instead of having to sell them (I don't play mobile. I don't like the mobile gameplay experience. AND I PAID FOR THE FULL DESKTOP VERSION SO WHY WOULD I WANT MOBILE). If we got that content, it might make this game worth it. However, to my knowledge the mobile game has had these features for many months now. We were told back around June that we would be getting many of these features by the end of 2021- and all that was given to us was very lackluster updates. It's infuriating. I haven't been able to play this game in months now due to having no real content left. For a game that prices itself in this range, its not acceptable. It is very hurtful as a customer to spend this money on the game and put trust in the developers to fulfill on updates, but then be completely neglected. It is incredibly disrespectful. Any other game I can think of that is playable both on mobile and desktop (or console)- the desktop/console games absolutely take priority over the mobile if they are having the desktop players pay to download & play. Which is only fair, CONSIDERING THE DESKTOP/CONSOLES PLAYERS ARE PAYING TO DOWNLOAD AND THE MOBILE USERS ARE NOT. As you can tell, I've hit the limit of my patience at this point- since the end of 2021 has come & gone without us receiving the updates we've been waiting for. I personally do not recommend spending your money on this game until the developers start giving it the attention it deserves. UPDATE 5/17/22: The game has received updates per the road map including the cross country courses to the original farm map and a new Swiss map with jumping course for free roam. While this is fun for about 10 minutes, they really need to bite the bullet and just find a way to add the ACTUAL cross country/steeple competition mode seen in the mobile game (not just on this silly free roam thing). Which is still not mentioned on the road map unless I missed it??? I do not understand why it is so hard to add the cross country/steeple competition feature to the desktop version when they have already had it out on mobile for a very long time, and obviously have developed the cross country mechanics for the desktop now??? I also do not understand why we are being asked to wait months and months for the paddock feature as mentioned in my previous review, which is on the roadmap for late 2022. I personally feel that we should have been able to receive all of these updates in the first part of 2022 given the circumstances (it's all been out for mobile for about a year now unless I'm mistaken). I just really wish they would actually make it up to us on the desktop version, not try to make the incredibly slow roll-out of these WAY overdue updates seem like the greatest thing since sliced bread. Please development team I'm pretty much begging at this point!!! You did a great job with the initial mechanics on this cross country free roam stuff, but if its just left in free roam it's completely pointless, PLEASE focus on taking us down the home stretch and getting us CC competitions and paddock ASAP. This deserves to be a priority!! I really want to be able to change this review to a thumbs up- unfortunately though the current updates are pretty much just a little tease of the full features I was referencing in my initial review, and I cannot tell if the planned updates in the roadmap even will get us all the way there. It's possibly even more painful now, because they are so close to making this the game it deserves to be, yet also so far (in that they are missing the essential aspects of it w/o the cross country competitions and paddock still).

  This is coming from someone who has over 40 hours spent on the game. This comes from someone who enjoys the Rival Racing game a lot, and played the mobile game for many months before switching to Desktop. Do not bother to pay the UNBELIEVABLY STEEP price of this mobile clicker until it has provided the same content - and more hopefully - of what the mobile game currently has. 40 dollars for an incomplete beta with a mobile-built UI is just ridiculous. All challenge presented in the mobile version from limited stamina and more strict breeding, are completely erased and you can blast through the levels in absolutely no time. If you truly feel like it, you could beat the game in one sitting. The mobile currently has many more features than desktop, and I mean many more. Desktop is falling behind in upgrades, and other than improved graphics, has absolutely nothing to offer that you can't get for free on your phone. For crying out loud, they JUST released a free-roam map on desktop while the mobile game has an entire cross-country story with missions and 6 courses. DO NOT get this game until they have provided a fully fleshed out cross-country update, along with all the other upgrades in the works. Mobile already has cross-country, pasture, and provides ACTUAL online rewards and exclusive tack and breeds from races against other players. I would highly recommend playing the game on mobile to see if you like it. It is the EXACT same game on desktop, but for some reason, desktop has less for 40 DOLLARS. Discover for yourself if you think it is worth the 40 bucks. I don't think it is.

  Graphics and animations are nice, even beautiful at times, but the game's lack of actual gameplay doesn't merit it's 40$ price tag. The mobile version--which is free to download with multiple instances of microtransactions--gets more love from the developers than it's full-priced PC counterpart.

  I simply LOVE this game. I've been wishing for it for ages, and I just couldn't play because I didn't have a PC. Now I do and all I can say is that the wait was worth it. This version is so much better than mobile, you buy it once and there are no microtransactions. We can create our own horses, and buy all the custumizations without having to pay real money for it. It's totally worth the price. Buy it and you won't regret it.

  I enjoy almost everything about this game. My only real issue is that they do not use correct inheritance rules for color and pattern genetics. I feel a game that focuses only on horses should use correct genetic rules.

  I struggled for a long time on whether or not to recommend this game, for several reasons. I’m just a video game horse girl who was dissatisfied with only four stable stalls in RDR2, and then lack of ability to breed horses and sell them with their papers for a good profit. And this game solved some of those issues. But in the end, when I broke the game down into pros and cons, the cons outweighed the pros. PROS: For a game that was originally a mobile game, the horses look incredible. There are so many options to customize horses, and every horse is bound to be unique for that reason. There are multiple activities to do in the game, including racing, free roaming, cross country, and breeding. NEITHER PRO NOR CON: Training wasn't really a pro or a con, as it was just clicking "train" over and over again until you max out. I'm glad that training isn't tedious, but it's also not fun. The human models aren’t nearly as pretty as the horses. The in-game art for the people is so beautiful, and then there’s the models - they look like potato monstrosities, but that’s more funny than annoying to me personally. That’s not even mentioning the ‘crowds’ at the cross country events. Some of them are literally 2d, and most look absolutely awful. But again, it doesn’t affect gameplay. CONS: Good lord, is it painfully obvious that this game was originally a microtransaction infused mobile game. You have to wait for certain things in the game, which is a pain in the ass. Nobody wants to just sit there and wait until the game is ready to be played. It's like sitting in a loading screen for five minutes. Yes, you can do other things while you wait, but you can say that about anything. You can pay with in game money for it, but why in the world would I do that when money is also a pain in the ass? I quickly got sick of racing. Racing isn't really fun or engaging. You just tap the spacebar at the end and hope your horse does well enough to win. And at a certain point, you barely make any money from racing anyway. You win only a bit more money than you paid to enter the race. Cross country is just doing the same tracks over and over again to make money once you hit the wall of "not high enough prestige level". Speaking of - the game bars you from progressing normally. You have to gain prestige levels in order to do certain things, including breed certain horses or upgrade your stables or storehouse. The storehouse system sucks, and forces you to keep coming back to sell items because it’s always ****ing full. The prestige system sucks. It’s such a time waster, much like these mobile games. Breeding is terrible. Even if you use only your own horses, you have to pay an arm and a leg for it. And the resulting foal with be worth only a fraction of what you paid to get it. The game encourages you to pay for caretakers to boost the foal’s stats, but it’s RIDICULOUSLY expensive to do. You will never get a profit from breeding horses. You will always lose money if you buy a horse specifically for breeding, and sell it later when it becomes obsolete. In fact, most horse related transactions will waste way more money than you earn. The homestead system prevents you from going broke, but jfc. This game was obviously created to do exactly this - and then force players to either pay or wait to get more money. The point of the game seems to be getting better quality horses, but honestly I can’t tell the difference between bad quality horses and good quality horses when riding them in free roam. They all move slowly and handle pretty badly. Turning is so slow, the game tells you to slow your horse to a near stop if you actually want to turn properly. It’s annoying. The only way to make real money in the game is to just do the cross country mission with the most money winnings attached to it. Do that over and over again. Then you can afford your upgrades, breeding (which shouldn’t cost me to breed my own damn horses), accessories, and horse creator. I’m frustrated and disappointed. My suggestion would be not to buy this game at full price. If you’re a horse game fan and it looks interesting, wait for it to go on sale first.

  I love this game. The breeding is super fun and the leveling is very rewarding. The only thing that needs to be worked on is end game. We need to be able to race our own horses against others online and more daily challenges and quests. More special races against rivals and challenging content. For example "Sell a horse that's won over 100 races" or "Sell a horse worth over 2 million", or something like that. It would also be excellent to be able to put your stallions up for stud on an open marketplace for money and be able to sell foals on an open marketplace to other players. The current system encourages inbreeding because bringing in fresh genetics at Tier 10 is impossible. Overall, super love it and have played it for hours. It has the potential to be even better though.

  Honestly, i'm disappointed. I've been playing this game on the Ipad for a while and when I saw the "create a horse" option I knew I had to buy this.. But it's not at all what I was expecting. First of all, there's barely any creating going on.. You pick a colour, choose what patterns and that's it.. You don't even get to choose a secondary colour for the patterns either. If this wasn't disappointed enough, you can't breed them or download them into your stables - only thing I saw was "make it available for in game store" which just isn't enough for me. I like the idea of "pvp" but that doesn't interest me much. If you don't care about the semi pointless create a horse feature then just download it for free on your mobile/tablet. It's not worth £35.
