  This is more a "paint a 3D world" with extra animations. Nothing evolves or moves or spreads around on its own. You place stuff and it does its little animation and does non-transforming actions in a very limited radius, and that's it. If creatures have offspring, the offspring will stay in the same original radius, reproduce, die, in the same radius. Nothing changes on its own. Again, it's more a 3D painting "game".

  Cute little poly sim, creative mode lets you make a relaxing little world, or you can play through the whole evolution of biomes, starting with grass and progressing through woodlands, forests, snow and more. An addictive little time waster :D

  It's a very cute game, a great sound track, and the bonus was having watched it be developed on YouTube.

  This is a super chill game. Follow the quests, use the magnifying glass to easily find the attributes you want. Use the filter on the store to buy the right organism for the job. Don't be afraid to plant the whole map and then erase the parts you need to change. Grass is cheap and only spreads so far.

  Labor of love. Calming and stress-free enjoyment. The music is a joy and all the little details down to menu transitions, sound effects and the way the tasks lead you through the basics without restricting you is brilliant.

  great game that provides hours of gameplay. love the various evolutions but with there was more diversity with water species. being limited to just a handful of fish seems kind of restrictive. i wish there was an ocean biome with some real genetic diversity such as whales, squid, sharks, crabs and more. but aside from this complaint it is a very lovley game

  For those who followed ThinMatrix on YouTube and other social media in creating this game *cough* masterpiece. It was well worth the wait. I was under the impression it was going to be a $29.99 or $19.99 game and would have gladly paid that price for it. I was excited to see that it's only priced at a very modest $9.99. I have always loved sandbox, simulation, casual and relaxing genres. This game brings the best of all of those genres into a polished package. The most important part about this game and it being developed indie is how finished it truly is. I've completed roughly 95% of what the game has to offer so far (by rushing of course to test things). During this I have not encountered a single bug or issue with the game. This is something some of the big game companies should really take a look at and maybe take some notes from ThinMatrix. Hats off. What a wonderful game you hae provided for the community ThinMatrix. Now to get back into the game and start another world! P.S. LOVE THE SOUNDTRACK and ALL the sounds in general in this game job well done.

  I recommend this game, but I want to focus on what it lacks first given that there is plenty of posts that are purely positive. This game is not very 'gamey'. You can leave it unpaused and nothing bad will happen for you to counterplay (unless you happened to leave something in the wrong biome - these will die out). In other words, equilinox is all about a progress bar forward without setbacks or problems. You build ecosystems, but don't have to balance them - rabbits will never overpopulate, eat everything, then starve because they lack a predetor to keep them in check. Equilinox isn't 'hard' in the sense that it requires skill. It's purely a sim where you take your time to build the ecosystem. One thing I don't like is that there is only one resource (DP), which is used for both 'research' (evolving new species, mutating existing ones) and placing individual plants and animals. This means while you are waiting for enough DP to gather to research something, you are just waiting. If you expand your ecosystem, you would hinder your research progress, and vice versa. This leads to large stretches of nothingness while you wait for income. It also means you have an incentive to build tiny, perfect biomes of each type to fill out the tech tree - filling in more of the map just costs resources that you need for research. A second resource for placing plants and animals would have, I feel, done a lot to counter this. NOW, WITH THAT SAID: this game is amazing. There are many, many cute and fun moments to play through. There is a real sense of accomplishment when you unlock something. The designs prove the power of low poly, and look great. Many small things stick out as thoughtful and well designed systems. Music and sound design is great. And like a good city building sim, you derive a great sense of pride from building a beautiful world. I avidly look forward to what this dude does next - whether expanding Equilinox or other.

  This is what we expect, when we buy a game. He developed a game in 3 years on his own, and he askes 10$ for it. its a solid game without microtransactions, DLC, game breaking bugs.. (not like all the AAA games released in the past years). Respect ThinMatrix, you deserve the possitive reviews and i'm glad your hard work got noticed!
