  Alright, let's get this over with. I'll try to keep this as spoiler-free as possible, while also naming most of the core aspects of the DLC. To sum it up: this whole DLC is a mess. Best to start off with the plot and storytelling. This DLC is deriving from borderland's iconic, humorous storytelling and, despite the *few* jokes that were built in, I feel like most of it is played off too seriously. Even worse, the whole DLC just feels like some clichee movie (which is probably what gearbox aimed at). To be honest, I kind of hoped that what we got to play would be that clichee movie and the real DLC would come after, but nope, credits rolled and that's it. The plot itself is generic, most of the characters are extremely forgettable. Rose, as the first character you meet in the DLC (Minor Spoiler: [spoiler] Main Antagonist of the DLC [/spoiler]), seems interesting at first but just turns out to be annoying as hell. There was an attempt at giving backstories to some characters but in the end I feel like Ava had more character development than that whole bunch. This also includes the bossfights. The most exciting boss was, as expected, the endboss. Unfortunately, that isn't an impressive feat since all of the other bosses were pure garbage, the endboss was just *somewhat* better and at least sported some interesting features. Gameplay-wise the DLC is mediocre. Many new weapons were added, some of which have interesting effects but let's face it: 90% of them underperform (especially in Mayhem Mode, even though that's a problem with Mayhem Mode and weapon balancing itself). Cool and all that we got the unkempt herald back but nobody would buy a DLC just for that old piece of meta. At leat we got rad bike-like vehicles to explore the empty desertscape that composes most of the DLC. This brings us to map design. As mentioned above, some of the maps feel extremely barren and basically look indifferent from each other. The final arena was okay but the rest was just underwhelming and even the skybox looks like no effort was put into it at all. They tried to force interaction with the environment by adding some additional gimmicks but these felt more like a hassle than additional entertainment. Even the eridian jumppads were salvaged and re-textured. Concerning the soundtrack, it fits the wild western/asian setting but just ended up getting on my nerves and inducing some minor headaches. The combat soundtrack in some areas is literally just looped violin stinging which is extremely unpleasant to endure. The only interesting themes came from the endboss and the singing guitarist inside the saloon. As I mentioned in the beginning, the whole thing is just a mixed bag, in which the negative aspects unfortunately overweigh the few positive ones and overall I do not recommend buying this DLC. If you already bought the season pass, you should give it a try anyway but for me personally this was a one-time thing and I probably won't be touching it anytime soon.

  Pretty good DLC with enough content for about 10 hours including all side quests and crew challenges, which is still more than in some full games out there. Maps have nice wild west aesthetics and the story is decent but not too memorable, while the soundtrack was almost non-existent noise.

  Thumbs down just for having the absolute worst excuse for "music" in the franchise. There will be hours here where it's just repeating the same string or other singular noise on an infinite loop. You'd almost swear the music is just bugged, but its intentional. It drove me insane. And thematically it doesn't even make sense. Imagine if the "Jaws" theme was just playing for no reason. Or some suspenseful horror movie noise. This is the wild west. This made no sense at all.

  Pros: Fun guns, the best part of a loot and shoot New vehicles are always fun Level Cap increase (can be good or bad, but I like using more skills) Rose: Fun character I hope we get to see more of Soundtrack was ok Cons: Really short, like beat it in a single play session, The previous ones took a few even if they weren't much longer. Story was kinda iffy, I didn't much like it. Rose: we see so little of her it's kind of annoying that she's supposed to be the villain. Pretty boy harassed us throughout the entire casino heist and so it was fun when he got his comeuppance, I can't even remember the eldrich heart couples names but they were constantly dragging Hammerlock and Wainwright apart. Rose just kinda chimes in at the end of an area to say generic villain lines and not really add anything. We even get some sort of foreshadowing moment early in the dlc- Spoilers ahead- where her eyes glow green and she quickshots another character, the barrel of her gun glowing a similar green, later when we fight her she has some kind of super speed. It seems they're hinting that she's a siren, but there is never any real payoff. I Adore borderlands, and despite 3's story being kinda poor I still like it alot. Even the things I dislike don't overshadow what makes the game good to me. The simple fact that when I think of this dlc and it's easier to point out things I didn't like instead of what I did speaks volumes to me. If you don't have any dlc? Get the Handsome Jackpot or Guns, Love, And Tentacles. If you want them both? Get the season pass and consider this a small extra to the decent dlcs.

  So far, so good. There's a pretty decent amount of content, with one caveat: you *really* need to do side-quests to get the most out of this DLC. The main quest for this is, as other reviews point out, fairly short. But the side-quests are pretty good, and the attention to detail in the environment is a lot higher this time. The town on Eden 6 that you save is about 10% the size of the western-style town in this DLC, and there are plenty of roofs to climb, ledges to secret treasure chests, and so forth. And a lot of clever in-jokes and pop-culture references. A oil-well area is 'Frack Mesa', which for anyone who's played Half-Life is worth a chuckle. There's a Marx's Brothers quest, a Jurassic Park easter egg with a T-rex chasing raptors, and a lot of good moments I've come across so far. My main gripes: 1) Rose as a villain is (and again, this, too, is echoed in other reviews) not the most exciting. 2) The new vehicle, a hover bike, is pretty lack-luster. 3) The main quest is a bit short. Overall, if you don't rush the main quest, and take time to explore, there's enough here. I actually think the exploration element and side quests to this DLC are pretty strong. But this DLC really does require you to do side-quests to get the most out of it this go-round.

  First of all I played through this dlc after finishing the base game with lvl 72 Fl4k and with mayham 10 gear. I played through this dlc on mayham level 5 and it was a quite enjoyable experience. This dlc adds around 10-15 hours of additional content. I really loved how every main and side mission was narrated with a deep western voice and it was narrated in a way, so it gives you the illusion that your playing out a story that has already happened. The lore items and collectables are the same as in the base game but with different names. Typhon's dead drop becomes Sato's cache, Targets of Opportunity becomes Most Wanted, and so on. This dlc introduces 3 new mechanics. One of these is a launch pad mechanic which was used perfectly to access certain hidden locations or to progress in the map. You unlock the ability to use launch pads pretty early on in the main story line. Another one is a teleportation mechanic which you only unlock somewhere halfway the main story line. In my opinion this was a missed opportunity because this mechanic could allow for a more interesting way of finding your way though a particular section of the map. I would've loved to see this mechanic used more extensively. And lastly, a new combat mechanic where you can punch a crystal and exploding shards will fly off similarly to how barrels react in the base game when sliding into them. This mechanic is also used to open hidden passes and to progress to new areas of the map. Overall I really enjoyed this dlc and would highly recommend it.

  Unique atmosphere. Western style DLC, with a nice unique touch of East culture and a bunch of references. The DLC immediately brings back memories of BL1, Akira and Fallout NV. Good narrative and voice acting for the narrator. Cool locations with new flora, fauna. Unfortunately, one of the shortest DLC. A huge amount of good weapons for the end game.

  Breaking bug at the end of game. When you "follow the posse" to your final destination, do not stray from the course. If you do not follow them the mission will glitch and you will not be able to finish the DLC. I fell for this after beating every other mission and investing hours. After more than 3 years they still have not fixed it.

  Leave this DLC alone. :( In all seriousness, everyone complains about the narration and whatnot but to be honest, this DLC felt more unique than all of the others. It's shorter, and the story's not exactly the most complicated or clever, but the narration, theme, aesthetic, and map design were all great at least to me. The core shards you can knock around are useless and shouldn't have been included... But I really feel like they tried something new and got roasted for it way too hard. My only serious gripe besides it being too short was that the first few bosses were a bit too easy for their level (contributing to it being short). Bare-chested Tattoo guy boss melted in one mag to a Hellshock, never even saw his moves. F. Overall though I enjoyed this more than GLT. It's not as good as Handsome Jackpot but it's got some good qualities. Look at it for what it is, not what it isn't. It's got soul to it.
