  First: you do NOT need the Master Chief Collection in order to play this game! The DLC tag is a steam interface error. Second: after you install the game, you have to go into "Options & Career", then "SETTINGS", click on the "GAMEPLAY" tab and hit Select on "CHANGE INSTALLED GAMES". From the "CUSTOM INSTALLATION" select the Halo game modes you wish to play. The steam client (Not MCC) will then install those games, you can close down the game and let it do its thing. Once the game is installed you can actually play the game These two are my biggest cons for the game, otherwise, this is the Halo game you know and love. have fun! *im alright with the game as a whole despite the bugs due to the price of the game. if it was $40 dollars like the other halo games i would have given this game a dislike.

  "Co-Op Latency: At this time, we have not been able to identify any issues around this feature and the functionality is on par with the rest of MCC. There is no active development happening around improving/re-writing the legacy network code around this area of the game. Unfortunately, this would be a massive undertaking and just isn’t within the realm of what the team can currently support." -343 Industries' home page. ♥♥♥♥ man, I feel like I've been ripped off now. Don't buy this if you want to play Co-op with a friend and relive that childhood nostalgia, because i can't seem to connect at all with other friends when trying to play Halo CE and Halo 2 Co-op and 343 is now admitting to our faces that they have no intention of fixing their own product...just...wow...just wow...

  A true classic. One of the best FPS games ever released that still holds up to this day. The anniversary edition looks great, and the unique style of the original graphics still holds up well. Amazing gameplay, story, characters, music, worldbuilding, and multiplayer. 10/10 A Masterchie- I mean masterpiece.

  So, you beat the Halo demo. Not bad, soldier, not bad at all. BUT ARE YOU READY TO TAKE THE NEXT STEP?! In the full version of Halo, you'll find additional vehicles like tanks, plasma turrets, and aircraft: powerful, new human and alien weapons; a single player campaign spanning ten massive indoor and outdoor environments; and support for intense multiplayer battles with up to sixteen of your friends! ... Or enemies. All that wrapped up in an epic sci-fi story that's so freaky, it makes me shake just thinkin' about it. Halo: Combat Evolved. Buy one! Heck, buy two. That's an order, soldier!

  haven't seen any reviews mention it but you can buy and play the dlc without owning the full collection.

  Although Halo: CE is undoubtedly an amazing game on its own, I cannot help but feel as if 343i dropped the ball on this one, especially when it comes to multiplayer. The pros? Matchmaking works (sometimes), and the campaign is also worth the $10 price tag if you're just going to play it on your own. Sadly, for people like me who have already beaten the game multiple times in the past and simply wanted to co-op with friends, this rendition of Halo: CE cannot be recommended. Co-op is completely broken and the issue is being ignored by 343i. Basically, whenever I try to load a level with a friend, the connection is interrupted during the loading screen. This leads to us being booted back to the main menu. Yes, I know that many others have somehow gotten co-op to work, but that does not mean the issue is nonexistent. I'm not the only one who holds this sentiment either. Fix co-op, and I'll switch this review from negative to positive. And I hope to god that the rest of the titles don't suffer from this problem. As grateful as I am to Microsoft for deciding to bring Halo to Steam, their subsidiary's inability to fix a core feature doesn't do the series any justice.

  Man, 343 really shit the bed on this one. They pushed an unfinished beta (with nothing they promised) without any warning and the game is way worse off for it. They said they were going to fix the graphical changes that came with the gearbox port way back in the day. They didn't. They said they were going to complete the overhaul that the original anniversary port left half finished. They didn't. They rushed this busted ass, barely past QA "beta" right onto the street without even realizing the game breaking bugs they themselves introduced. Which bugs? Well the most offensive is that weapon spread is broken on frame rates higher than 60. If you play this game in 120hz, 144hz, 240hz, or even fucking 75hz your pistol, rifle, sniper, whatever gun will be less accurate than those around you playing at 60. HOW DOES THAT MAKE IT PAST QA? You have a competitive multiplayer game where people who play on higher frame rates are just at an honest to god disadvantage. Holy shit 343i what were you thinking? There is so much more wrong with this game right now. Its a buggy broken mess... and not in the charming way that the original CE was... just new-age 2020 343 jank. Cutscenes still run at 30 fps and certain game animations are running at like 15 fps (breaking glass for example). Crashes/softlocks in campaign are rampant and the anniversary graphics are so poorly optimized that a god damn 2070 cant maintain even 60 fps. Christ man, I didn't really have an opinion of CE since I never really played it in its hayday, but this mess just seems like an insult to all of those who did. This is not the definitive Halo CE experience... its a dumpster fire.
