  One I've been waiting on for a good while now... bought on first day and not too disappointed, price is excellent and it might be the most fun and artfully well directed shmup since Tyrian in the late MS-DOS days. Excellent music and graphics and gameplay too. Once they work out all the bugs it will be legendary. Also the online leaderboards are fun to watch.

  A promising cute-em-up on first sight is heavily dragged down by some downright bafflingly bad game design choices. It steps in pretty much every "Euro-Shmup" cliche trap it can. Needlessly convoluted power up systems, bullet sponge enemies, key mechanics being unlockables, questionable player hitbox, scoring systems that feel like an afterthought to my absolute favorite: Putting invicible, shot blocking pick up dispensers in front of enemy paths. I was really looking forward to this game. The end result sadly was a massive disappointment.

  I tried to enjoy it, I wanna love it, but the lack of checkpoints makes it hard for me. Also the missile power ups keep crashing into each other when fired.

  Gosh where to begin, This game is kind of like if you mixed parodius with a little bit of that Treasure shmup flair and cheesey anime tropes served up in the best way possible. Protocorgi revels in all its cute em up glory but dont be mistaken this game pulls no punches however I felt like each death was my own fault. For the pretty small asking price I feel this game was worth every penny and I say this as someone who typically isnt a fan of shoot em ups, this game thouroghly won me over. Well played Kemono Games.

  Great shoot em' up, and probably the cutest aesthetics I've seen in a shoot em' up. But don't let the visuals fool you in terms of difficulty. This ain't a game where you can just feed off to your kid and think they easily thrive without any practice. But on the scale of difficulty from a shmup fan, I'd say this is in the easy-medium range. Managed to get the ending #2 on try #2 after purchasing. So as long as you have a basic understanding of shoot em ups and grazing, you'll easily get this game in an hour, tops. Great visuals, sounds/soundtrack; and shooting & movement mechanics all feel solid. Has the "Gradius" archetype of powerups in this game and they're all feel good. As for cons, wished homing powerups was more on the line of a "Raiden" type system where it just auto locks on, instead of having to go up to enemies to lock on. Also, later tutorial unlocks are convoluted to unlock. I didn't realize the 2nd tutorial steps onward required some, if not all, hidden abilities to be unlocked. Overall, it's a great game. And for it's current sale at 70% / $2 USD, it's definitely worth the price for the game you're getting.

  if you are not a fan of hard arcade games i would suggest avoiding, If you are, your in for a treat! To unlock a majority of the achievements it requires using no continues, so just the lives you start with. This can be a near daunting challenge for some but motivation for others. There are no checkpoints in this game to start from, what i mean is you will be starting all of your runs from the very start with it being the same every time depending on what difficulty you have it on. So far it seems predictable what power ups drop in parts of the map or from enemies. The hitbox is very generous with providing an actual little circle over your character showing its hit box when projectiles or walls or enemies are close to it, making threading the needle in tight sections a lot more reliable and constant. Overall a great game.

  As a veteran Shmup since the 80's this game displays the old school difficulty of some 80s-90s famous shmups games such as Gradius Twin series , Thunder Force series. It has some nice features as a "level Maker" OST player and much more options to customize your experience with the game. Also a plus: *You can pet the Corgi dog! <3<3<3 *There's an empanada!!! What else do you want?!? .....And Galaxy Roulette is my fav track!
