I had fun while playing the Taimen Khan pack. The Selenge River has a large number of species, some of which are endemic, like the Baikal Omul, which migrates into the Selenge to spawn. The biggest drawback I encountered was that the pack does not provide enough backpack slots for its contents due to lack of a tacklebox. Many of the lures supplied are hard baits, which do not stack in inventory and consequently take up more space in the backpack. I bought a Handy II tacklebox and still left some duplicate lures behind. In terms of additional equipment beyond a tacklebox, I would recommend buying a float rod to use to complete the exploration missions (make sure to bring a float because the location store only sells waggler/slider floats for match rods) and a three-rod carrying case to haul it all. The rods supplied are designed for larger fish, so you will lose the experience point bonus for most fish you catch. That is okay, because landing taimen, the "king of salmon," takes all the fighting power these rods can provide. However, the Ultimate Roller spinning reel is relatively low-capacity and is not well suited to the provided monofilament or fluorocarbon lines (fills up quickly with large diameter lines). If you are of high enough level (I was level 44 when I bought this pack), you can buy UL-Chubber carp braid, which fills the reel to a reasonable length and also looks cool because it is red colored like the RiverSpear rod and Ultimate Roller reel. Finally, I recommend bringing one or two glow-in-the-dark soft plastic lures, like a shad, to jig with at night (not sold at the location store), a technique that I used to target burbot.
