Aether Gazer has just been released globally and RPG fans are already in love with its insanely epic hack-and-slash gameplay and gorgeous anime art style. Previously known as Project Mimir, Aether Gazer comes from YoStar. The game has received highly positive reviews from players and critics alike for its intricate puzzles, action-packed combat, and compelling storyline that promises to keep you hooked for hours.
If you are looking for a game that provides a thrilling ARPG experience, Aether Gazer might just be the perfect game for you. But don’t just take my word for it, we are going to take a closer look at the game and talk about everything Aether Gazer has to offer to see if this game really is worth spending your precious time in. And also some of my favorite tips and tricks for players just getting started.
What is Aether Gazer and Why Should You Play It
Before we dive any deeper into the game, we need to understand what Aether Gazer actually is. And if you don’t already know, it’s an action-packed RPG that heavily relies on fast-paced hack-and-slash combat mechanics and challenging boss fights. As far as the story is concerned, Aether Gazer features a story that isn’t new to the genre but it’s still a compelling one for someone who isn’t burnt from these games.
Aether Gazer puts you in the shoes of gorgeous-looking Waifus who embark on a perilous journey to save their planet from impending doom. A post-apocalyptic world where human consciousness only exists in the Gaea, an artificial intelligence orbiting the planet. With the threat of a Virus that could disrupt life on Earth, you have to do whatever it takes to save what’s left of humanity by fending off the deadly viruses.
Being a typical Gacha RPG at the core, players can expect to see many familiar features like ability-based team composition where you get to create your very own squad to fight against the enemy. However, unlike most games in the genre, you can only control one character, the rest are controlled by AI, which makes team composition all the more important. And consequently, so is pulling the right character for your team. So, it’s definitely a game that you should give at least a try.
How to Get Started with Aether Gazer
Now, before you dive into the game and fall head-first, there are a few things you need to keep in mind in order to safely navigate its perilous realms and sci-fi biomes. Here’s our carefully curated list of the top 5 tips and tricks that you need to keep in mind to make this dangerous journey a little easier:
- Learn About Characters’ Abilities: One of the most important things you need to do as soon as you step into the world of Aether Gazer is study the modifier’s (Aether Gazer’s characters) strengths and weaknesses to make the best possible team. These modifiers are divided into different rarities with SSRs being the best. However, in some instances, even SRs can outperform or at least give competition to SSRs. So, it’s important to learn about modifiers.
- Rerolling: Now, this one is directly related to the first tip because if you learn about the characters’ strengths and weaknesses, you will know if you want to reroll or not as some of the SR modifiers are worth keeping compared to some SSRs. And with a ridiculously low rate, you wouldn’t want to waste much on microtransactions.
- Team Formation is Crucial: Aether Gazer is a game where battles heavily depend on how you form your team. And I am not just talking about having the right characters - positioning also plays a crucial role. Every team in this game needs a battle leader. It’s the character that you place at the center of the battlefield. Be careful who you decide to make a leader because that’s the character you will be controlling through the game.
- Leader Controls: Once you have selected the team leader, you need to learn a few battle tactics. The first thing you need to keep in mind is that you can select a single target to attack while your team is busy fighting others. The next thing you need to keep in mind is mastering evasion. Aether Gazer has a dedicated dodge button that lets you evade enemy attacks if you just time it right.
- Don’t Forget Daily Missions: If you want to make quick progress in this game, you need to keep an eye on the daily and weekly missions. They are a great source of experience and resources that are essential for character and weapon upgradation. And the best part is, they are super easy to do. So, even if you don’t plan on playing the game, just make sure you get the daily rewards by completing these tasks.
Hopefully, this will give you a sense of direction that you need to follow in this game as a beginner. You can, of course, experiment around with different tactics and modifiers, but keep these tips to make your life a little easier in Aether Gazer.
Aether Gazer Characters and How They Work
Unlike most Gacha RPGs, characters in Aether Gazer are most in-depth and not to mention, outright gorgeous. But they are also more complex when it comes to their individual stats. All of these characters are divided into different gen-zones, which grants them unique skills and abilities with a boost in performance. There are a total of five different Gen-Zones:
- Shinou: Empowers Modifiers with increased damage based on the number of enemies they confront.
- Nile: Enhances Modifier's critical damage output for an impactful attack.
- Asterism: Enables all Modifiers to unleash attacks that penetrate enemy defenses, dealing damage that even bypasses their defenses.
- Olympus: Accelerates the charging speed of Modifiers’ Mod Index Multiplier.
- Yggdrasill: Replenishes Mods' combat resources such as Rage, Energy, Traces, and Divine Grace.
When forming your team, it’s important to understand what Gen-Zone your Modifier belongs to as it grants them special boosts that could potentially help you win more battles, quickly and efficiently. It’s also important that you upgrade your Modifiers by gaining EXP cards. But at some point, your Modifier might experience a “limit” that restricts a Modifier’s level.
In that case, you will have to use what’s called Limit Breaking to ensure that your Modifier can level up. This way, your Modifier can have better base stats depending on their level. These are a few essential things that you need to keep in mind when choosing characters for your team.
