  Possibly the MOST OP career to ever exist so far. An ult with more spammability than GK that can be turned into a high damage AOE with bleed, an even easier damage boost than GK, multiple stacked crits just from ulting, and to top it off tons of passive healing that even benefits your team. It's funny how they tote this career as a support class but anyone with half a brain can easily top the most damage and kills over anyone else anytime. The javelins she unlocks are even NUTTIER because they basically act like Bardin's throwing axes, but they aren't shit and have a melee attack that also does insane damage. The staff has a neat gimmick to disable elites and specials but why bother disabling when you can just outright DPS them to death? Recommended buying if you want your teammates to hate you for killing everything effortlessly.

  Ignore the people complaining: this carreer was ridiculously OP at launch and is now ballanced and fun. This is a SUPPORT class that is meant to help the team and provide utility, not single handedly down chaos patrols and grudge-marked monsters.Of course, if you lack skill, complaining is easier.

  Disclaimer: I 100% recommend Vermintide 2, and have gotten my money's worth many times over! That being said, for this DLC in particular, there were recent changes to SotT that lead me to write this review. In all honesty, I actually agree with almost all of the nerfs (the class was initially *way* overtuned). But instead of providing what should feel like fun alternatives that are in-line with the other classes, the changes seem to have generally made more aspects of this class uninteresting. To be honest, the change that pushed me over the edge to write this was removing all initial damage from Blackvenom Thicket. Pre-nerf, this was a (too strong) damage option that replaced her ultimate. But instead of removing it to create a more on-theme ultimate (which, from the patch notes, sounds like it should be support-oriented), it was kept and changed to deal no initial damage, and apply a weak poison (as well as stagger, but it did that pre-nerf). I think it's important to add that there were no visual changes made to indicate enemies shouldn't be damaged—a mass of thorny spikes still rapidly shoot out of the ground and violently throws enemies around. The saddest part is that It doesn't really fit with her other traits now, including the newly introduced ones, and without any visual indications that it specifically shouldn't do damage on use, it mostly feels like a bugged skill when used. Considering they maintained the skill with the rework at all I can only assume that it was because they still wanted it to be used, and the slightly more aggressive SotT playstyle that goes along with it to still have a spot in the game post-rework. But as it stands I have trouble seeing why it should be picked. As my favourite of the three, I can only hope that one day I can edit this review if the skill is ever changed to fit better with the rest of the class, or removed completely and replaced with something that would provide more value to the team.

  So the review bombing happening right now. Lets explain it. From both sides, because while I disagree and think its thumbs up worthy and very well balanced now, I get why people are mad. Here we go: People are mad because they balanced a severely overpowered class that was sold and described as a support class. Here the issue, the class did: more damage than the damage classes tanked better than the tank classes actually did do very solid support So now that they have balanced the class to be, shocker, AN ACTUAL SUPPORT, people are mad because they dont get an overpowered class and weapon anymore. Im not surprised because people got used to it being that way. You cannot simply leave something in its unintended state for this long and expect that people are going to understand why it has changed after such a long time. This is the issue I run into. I dont want to reward Fatsharks bad behavior. They left this class completely broken for a about 10 months. This led people to believe that this class was just supposed to be like this, that its OP nature was intended, when it never was. It was meant to be a support, Fatshark screwed it up royally, then let it fester for far too long. Now they fixed it, but its 10 months too late. People are going to be mad. If they balanced it in a timely manner, then people would have likely said "ah it wasnt meant to be like this? Fine, have a great day." And could have moved on from it. But no, the snail speed development and patching struck and caused this. Im rating it UP because I think its great that they balanced her. She is still very strong, has a nice variety of builds, and is VERY good at support and damage still. But again, its Fatsharks own fault its getting review bombed for taking ENTIRELY too long to balance it. Their snail pace development and patching with almost no transparency whatsoever is completely unacceptable and is what caused this whole debacle. Please Fatshark, learn something from this. This game has so much potential.

  I don't know what it was like before the "nerf," but as it stands right now, this class is unique, super fun to play and pretty balanced. The character model looks slick too! It's versatile as either a damage-leaning melee support or a ranged support. She grants your whole party a 25% heal bonus and can sling walls that block doorways and projectiles, and can reroute horde pathing, which can be pretty handy if you know how to work with it. As melee, it can apply poisons to groups on crits (if talented) that grant 12% increased damage -- pretty powerful with a bounty hunter or grail knight, and makes taking out groups a bit easier if you can spread poisons. As ranged, she can utilize a staff to straight up CC an enemy, including specials. If that's not useful af, idk what is. But the staff has a build-up meter like the Sienna, except overcharging doesn't insta-kill you, it just takes a huge portion of your health. Otherwise, the javelin acts as both melee and ranged, which is pretty neat too. Overall, super rad class. Prob my favorite one between the Grail Knight and Engineer. Check it out!   I liked the class when it was originally released. I like it now, because she's what she was meant to be, and I don't have to hold back any more when playing her. It shouldn't have taken this long to "fix" it, because after A YEAR you're really just breaking what you sold people in the name of an original vision that you obviously didn't playtest, while simultaneously doing the same to another class that's been there since release. Fatshark made a great base game, but the DLC has been all over the place, and between this and other nerfs I haven't played the game for a long time, in a long time. Relearning entire classes and weapons because the devs didn't test what they sold people before they sold them is like getting hit by a falling shelf in a grocery store and then having to buy painkillers from them. You're not sure what's broken or not but you know you've just been ripped off, and you won't come back unless you have to.

  people are buttmad that they got their crutch taken away, so now they actually have to think when they play the game. it's perfectly balanced now, people that are crying that she isn't viable on cata obviously don't play cata regularly, and only managed to clear cata maps before because they got carried by playing sister cope and seethe, scrubs

  An extremely broken, boring and powerful class that got rebalanced to being actually fun to play with. Review bombing is because people are frustrated that they can't solo carry any game anymore. Guess what, after the balance patch everyone can have fun now, instead of only the SotT player. Staff is great, Javelin is great, (most) talents are great, and you're not shoehorned into a single build.

  Was the class originally too strong when compared to some other classes in the game? Yes. Where changes needed? Absolutely. Are the changes that have been made good? Fuck no! The career skill of "building a wall" that blocks your own teams attacks is still as stupid as it was before. The "support" aspect doesnt reflect much in the actual skills and is mainly to be found on the staff weapon (and arguably in the "increased damage taken" debuff she can now apply). The biggest issue now is that the class is simply not fun to play! Nobody asked for a mage option for Kerillian. Nobody wanted a "support focused" class in a game where everyone is DPS. It could have been a Wardancer, maybe melee only since Fatshark seems to love those, and could have gotten a unique set of weapons like Warrior Priest. But I guess releasing a broken class for the character that the community already hates for no proper reason, then leaving it in this state for way too long and changing it to simply be unfun... Yeah that works too. I am not mad that SoT is no longer dominating everything by simply existing, that wasnt healthy for the game at all. I am just disappointed that what we ended up with is bad and unfun... And you have to pay for it.
