  this is $12.99 for: - a pistol that is slightly better than the default pistol - a weapon ornament that has no function - different saferoom music - the hardest difficulty option - concept art so, a collection of stuff that you should be able to unlock in the basegame locked behind a straight-up outrageously high paywall. i bought the deluxe edition of this game and wish i could trade it back in for the base edition because selling this sort of stuff instead of giving it out for free as a reward for playing the game is an embarrassingly bad AAA practice that needs to die

  Is it worth the asking price of 12,99€? Short answer: No. [h1]Details![/h1] [h2]Samurai Edge - AW Model-01[/h2] This handgun is slightly weaker than the normal handgun with the first upgrade stage. It's obsolete the moment you get your hands on it. [h2]Resident Evil 7 Found Footage Filter[/h2] This one makes your game look like one of the video tapes in RE7. It's a funny feature, but I wouldn't pay extra for that. [h2]Resident Evil 7 Tape Recorder Save Point[/h2] More throwbacks to RE7. Savepoints in RE8 are fine and you're basically paying money for a replacement mod. [h2]Saferoom Music "Go Tell Aunt Rhody"[/h2] The number of occasions where this RE7 throwback plays is very limited and it doesn't fit the theme. [h1]So far...[/h1] ...you've been paying money for things that look and feel like mods on some mod page sorted by popularity on page 5. [h2]Mr. Everywhere Weapon Charm[/h2] I had been looking forward to this. It sounded like a weapons mod system with unknown features. In reality, those charms do nothing but dangling from your first handgun and your first shotgun. I must admit, the dangling is pretty and considering the object-on-string physics of this gameplay gem might leave you mesmerised for hours... until you get your second (and better) set of weapons and realise they don't have charm slots. That's right, there are two charms and they are compatible with the starter weapons exclusively, the ones you will ditch after a third of the game and probably never pick up again unless for nostalgia purposes. [h2]Unlock "Village of Shadows" Difficulty[/h2] I - kind of, sort of - understand the need to gate this difficulty behind at least a playthrough on normal, because it breaks the game and will leave a wrong impression with any first-timer, who will then go to Twitter and whatnot and complain. In theory, the only time you'd really need this addon, is when you've lost your savegame and you want to start an NG VoS run badly, but not badly enough to play the game again on Normal. [h2]The Tragedy of Ethan Winters Artwork[/h2] The artworks can only be viewed from within the game. There is no PDF or anything useful (or I didn't find it). It's basically an RE7 artbook. It's the kind of things developer gave us "back in the day" for finding secrets because they liked how much we loved their games. Now it's time to pay and you don't even get it to view at your own pleasure. [h2]The Baker Incident Report[/h2] Hiding lore fragments in paid DLC is exactly how you clutter your lore and make sure people don't know jack when it's retcon time again.

  Not worth the money at all, I thought the pistol you got would have been at least worth it. And sure you get some other stuff, but not worth the money at all. The Pistol you get in the trauma pack holds 9 bullets and has 110 power. And the default pistol... 10 rounds and 100 power. And if you put the compensator on the default pistol, then it does 130 (140 with lvl 2 power upgrade). The Trauma Pack pistol cannot be upgraded or buffed in anyway. Its not worth the money, neither is anything else in the dlc

  As of having a few hours of playtime, the Samurai edge (arguably the most worthwhile thing in this pack) is NOT UPGRADABLE, and is only barely stronger than the default pistol you get at the beginning of the game, and it's meanwhile possible to upgrade and can be made better pretty early on. I'll update the review if I discover otherwise, but for $16.99 CAD this doesn't seem to be worth it.

  Horrible, why? - Samurai Edge - AW Model-01 - It's very weak and can't be upgraded, it might be helpful only on your first playthrough during the first 20% of the story. - Resident Evil 7 Found Footage Filter - Why would I use an annoying filter to hide all the beautiful graphics? - Resident Evil 7 Tape Recorder Save Point - Meh! - Saferoom Music "Go Tell Aunt Rhody" - Honestly I was excited for this but this is the unedited full version of the song that plays at the end of RE7, meaning that it takes forever to start since it's just heartbeat at the beginning and takes even more to reach to good parts. It's not like I spend 2-3 minutes in a save room. I was expecting an edited version like the one in the intro of RE7 or even a piano version. - Mr. Everywhere Weapon Charm - Useless - Unlock "Village of Shadows" Difficulty - Why would any sane person start their new game on the highest difficulty, it's almost impossible without New Game+. And since it already unlocks when u finish the game once, there is just no point in this feature. - The Tragedy of Ethan Winters Artwork - I actually enjoyed the Concept Arts and the fun facts but this clearly should have been free. - The Baker Incident Report - Same as above

  Samurai's Edge [b]PROS:[/b] - looks cool - has 10% more power than base pistol [b]CONS:[/b] - non-upgradable - has no attachment slot As you can see, this pistol is inferior than base pistol in every way except for very early game. Avoid buying the pack if you were expecting something from the "paid" gun.
