  I have not played this game much after I finished it when it came out, and never played the first DLC. But I can recommened this DLC if you are looking for a short exciting play through. I completed this DLC in about 3 and half hours but it had me wanting to continue playing the whole time. 8/10 DLC, was short but fantastic. If you have the $10 and looking to play remnant again I would recommend getting Subject 2923.

  (This will partly serve as an outline for the entire game.) So...I just finished the new entire campaign (yes, about 5 hours after release), and so far this feels like a lukewarm experience. If you liked the base game, it's good fun, but if it left you wanting more, this DLC doesn't fully scratch that itch and mostly suffers from the same problems. The new world is vibrant and has the seeds of a very interesting story planted somewhere in there, but the soil is dry and unwelcoming. Story spoilers below, while trying not to go into TOO much detail. [spoiler] The new world is great, the added lore is also great, a lot of things are explained, but in the end the main antagonist is the least interesting part of the story. Ford, the person you spent more or less tailing in the main game, gets a small nod and nothing else. Ward 13 seems to get little to zero new dialogue. The fairly well featured Shadow of the Colossus fellow from the trailer barely gets 4-5 minutes of screentime, same for Subject 2923. All this culminates in a "YOU ARE SAVIOR" ending which feels in many ways less justified than in the original, and that wasn't a particular high bar to begin with (so, going from what seemed like killing the source of the root on Earth in the base game to killing the ACTUAL source of the root which actually ISN'T the source of the root but essentially a cackling minion, AAARGH). TL;DR, if you wanted to know how RHOM deals with the death or rule of the Undying King, how the conflict on Yaesha ended, how Ward 13 is going to be rebuilt, how the culture of the new world or the subtle Nordic tones it displays will be shaped by your actions...[b]Heck, even if you stand a true chance against the source of the ROOT, you're out of luck.[/b] Why did I mention all these things, even if some are unrelated? [i]Because this is meant to be the final DLC. [/i] [/spoiler] So, why the positive review? Because the gameplay is still great, the core loop is still engaging, the new mechanics are pretty well thought out and personally I haven't encountered any bugs. It's been a very smooth release and what you get is enjoyable, even if there's not all that much of it. There's definitely more added content than before, but the game still feels far from complete. I just wish the devs had more $$$, there's quite a bit of storytelling through text (all of it great in my opinion) and a bit through some cutscenes...which is not so great. If the game had the same level of passion I feel from it and the budget of a AAA studio, it would have surpased its "Soulsborne" [i]roots[/i] (heh). The way it stands now I see it filling a mostly untapped niche, but doomed to decay into obscurity with time, and it deserves way more than that.

  Took me about 8.5 hours to beat this campaign solo, and I'll gladly run it again on harder difficulties and with friends. New armor, trinkets, and weapons. New enemies and bosses, new environments. New story. Honestly, this is a steal for $10. If you enjoyed the base game, this is a no-brainer.

  So far a really good DLC. I've already finished it once, and it truly looks like they listened to player feedback. Compared to most other bosses, most of the bosses in this dlc are actually difficult / enjoyable by themselves and do not have unnecessary adds/mobs added to them to "increase difficulty / ammo pickups". Which makes the boss design way better by default. Also, there's actually new biomes, enemies, traits and lots of new items - making this perfectly worth its price. Very high quality for a 10 euro DLC in my opinion. Currently there are a few bugs, mainly small 0.5 second freezes during the final boss fight, which are annoying. However, due to the fact that the developers are actually active within the discord community, I could see those issues getting fixed sometime soon.

  So this is an odd review. As i am recommending this game, the new dlc falls short... They advertise it as "the biggest and final dlc", but in my opinion, it didnt really feel all that big. As far as the storyline goes, it may as well be non existent. Theres probably a few recordings and logs that kinda explain what happened at ward prime, and a very limited few dialogues that even have to do with any type of actual story in reisum. And after wandering this "large" expansion, you're at the boss within a few hours. I've seen people saying it takes 8-10hrs to fully complete, but my first playthrough was about 4-1/2 to 5hrs. And i spent about an hour of that in ward prime trying to figure out the puzzles and where to go and what to do. And now that i know everything i do, id say you could run thru the campaign in way less time. Easily could be ran thru in probably 2-3 hours. As far as weapons and rings etc. They did add some nice stuff. However, it wont take you many playthoughs to get all of it. This dlc has the smallest events/bosses out of all the different locations, and only one world boss. And most of the new gear, mods, and weapons you obtain, are just not up to par. And with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions, I found myself still using the same gear sets, and still using my go tos as far as weapons, rings, amulets, and mods. The largest part of this dlc is probably just the map size along with ward prime. And yes it is a cool new landscape, with new enemies, but its also lacking hard as far as actual content. The fights are somewhat challenging at first, being that you dont know the mechanics of the fight at said time. But it wont take more than a couple or a few tries to beat them. That can also be said for the endgame boss. At first i thought the fight was super difficult, but then i figured it out after like 2 tries and it ended up being a breeze. I would honestly argue, that the swamps of corsus dlc was a lot better. And again, this is an odd review because i still do recommend and love this game! Im just speaking on this new dlc. Its enjoyable, but again very underwhelming. Especially after a few adventure playthoughs, it definitely left me wanting more. But dont let this review deter you from playing the game if you havent. With the pre patch, they buffed/nerfed and reworked a lot of the gear sets which makes a lot more options viable. The new dlc should make the survival a lot less repetitive. But specifically for those who are new, there is tons of replay value in this game as a whole. And as a whole the game is still great! So for a dlc thats only 10 bucks, you really cant go wrong here. But dont expect it to be the best and biggest dlc ever...It's not lol. Grab your friends, grab a 6 pack, grind out some new gear, and enjoy the new content! :D
