  It's so fun, I can't stop thinking about it and am dying to play again. I enjoyed Overcooked, but some of the wacky stuff got annoying like having to throw ingredients across a ship and such. This game it seems takes out some of that goofiness and focuses more on equipment you can buy in between days/rounds. Can really help you fill in areas where you need help. Had a great time with 2 other friends. I think you could solo play this but part of the fun was role-playing a bit and cooperating. I love the dev's design choices. Yes your run can end because you forgot one ingredient on one plate, but failure is part of the fun, you progress and unlock more things every time a run ends. Versus other games where failure is a prolonged downer state, this you fail, fail fast, it's over quick and you can get out and start another run. Great design choice. Takes the great progression of rogue-lites, combines it with some party game cooperation, awesome fun. If you are looking to play local-co-op or remote play, you need controllers. I will most likely buy this for my friends to support the developer after playing some remote play for a while. Cheers! PS: I love the mess customers leave after eating. Our inside joke is that if a customer is really happy with their meal, they make a mess on the floor, it's a sign of respect.

  Overcooked with progression instead of just increasingly more difficult and zany levels. A Must play party game and the share play means only one of you or your friends needs to purchase the game!

  On the surface this may seem like an Overcooked! clone, but it's actually quite different and I love this new addition to the genre. I actually think PlateUp! is closer to a heist game, or a very manual factory-optimisation game. There's two big loops - First, before every run, you can choose a floor plan, a first menu item, and some additional 'special' pieces of furniture that can break the game just a little bit. The floor plans are like choosing which of the series of rooms and walls is 'least worst' for your workflow. The menu items are pretty solid interesting recipes that have just enough steps in them so it's possible to screw an order up. I've seen a lot of variation in all three of those choices over six hours so there's a lot more to come. Second, before each of the 15 days in the run, you can buy new restaurant items, and rearrange every object to accommodate. This forces you to pause, reflect on the past day with your team, make some fairly consequential choices to tighten your loops, and attack the next day even better. "If I move the sink into the corner I don't have to move as much to make pizza dough" - "We can't afford both of these so which one will we keep in a cabinet and which one will get vaporised when the day starts?" There are some really gnarly cool things you can put in your kitchen, and they've put a lot of thought into what would make a kitchen 'em up fun. Some examples: conveyor belts and auto-platers, cleaning robots, speed buffs, items to influence customers' timers and ordering habits. Playing it solo or co-op always seems fair, and as you progress through the 15 days, things can get very tight. Just like Overcooked, there are some 'clutch serves' and nailbiting moments. I haven't yet made it all the way through a run, but it seems like afterwards, they're going to introduce another layer still of complexity. Bring it on.

  Send help, this game has kidnapped my girlfriend. What began with an innocent bit of fun has turned into an obsession. She was never a gamer, but now she doesn't want to do anything but play this game anymore and it's too much for me. There's so much more to life but she won't hear of it. She only leaves the house for work and appointments now. The other day I noticed she was staring out the window, motionless, not making a sound. I asked her what she was so enthralled about and she replied "I need the copying desk to make more conveyors, otherwise the combiner is useless." In the morning I asked how she slept and she said she dreamt of new strategies for her next solo run, like starting with a prepping station and upgraded sink. She came home from work and began telling me about all the PlateUp research she had done on her commute. First she took over my Steam account, now she's made her own so she can play endlessly on the brand new workstation I built for her. I went for a motorcycle ride with my friend and she didn't realize I was gone for 3 hours. When I came home, she told me she almost completed Day 15 on a solo run and would've won if it weren't for the terrible blueprint drops. We are moving overseas soon but I fear on moving day, she's going to remain glued to this game while our entire home gets packed away. By the time she snaps out of this enchantment, it will be too late. There's a dark kind of magic in this game and it has locked her soul in the overnight freezer. Send help. Update: We beat Day 15. She's finally able to sleep like a normal human again.
