  That top negative review is from 2016, ignore it, this game is pretty great. Darker atmosphere, cool character roster, and a complex but satisfying combat system, considered by some better than the MK11 system. Regarding its online mode, currently there's still a lot of people playing it. Story mode, meh, some cool stuff here and there, but meh (more interesting than MK11' story mode, tho). Also, seeing that MK9, a game with Freddy Krueger, was delisted from Steam after its 10th anniversary, I'd legally suggest you to buy this before 2025. Some skins are a pain in the arse to unlock, but if you search well on the internet...

  Amazing game, really good fighting mechanics, a really good story line. There's a reason why the Mortal Kombat franchise is my favorite one ever.

  This really revived the series in my opinion. They added a lot to the game without losing what was great.
