  I highly recommend this game. A couple of Phasmophobia/DBD clones have been released this year. I assumed this was just another one. But this is unique. Even being in early access it is the most polished I have seen. I have not ran into any bugs. The mechanics and movement are smooth. I worry about the entity being a bit OP at the moment. But I think that is because of the learning curve of figuring out the puzzles. I can see once players are familiar with the map and quest being the entity may be a bit more challenging. I have a group of friends that play all these types of games together. We are excited about the PVE adventure mode and the future roadmap of the game. The only issue I have ran into is the low player base. Twitch does not have it registered as a game, so i had to stream it under Just Chatting. But once the word is out I expect this will be a highly played and streamed game.

  Honestly, at the current state of the game I would not spend any money on it, unless it was on sale and you just wanted to have it to say you have it... I hate to say this, because in reality the game is absolutely gorgeous. The graphics are breath taking, the ideas and concepts are fascinating and the mechanics are just awesome. I hate that these wonderful aspects are completely overshadowed and buried under a few fundamentally game breaking aspects. First off, there is absolutely 0, Zero, replay-ability. Once you have completed a full game, gods give you strength as I know we needed it, you will have no interest in playing it again. Let me emphasize that the game itself is very very good. Like, spookily good. But that is only once, trust me when I saw half way through a game of it you will be craving the sweet release of death, just because of the monotony and tedious nature of the goal, which you only fully realize how ungodly horrifying it is after completing the first stretch of objectives. Pacing is another huge downfall Haunt Chaser seems to suffer from, there is actually far too much pacing, or maybe none at all. From the word go, you are being hunted by the ghost, either the AI or another player, you have a set of objectives to complete, all of which are on different sides of the giant map and it takes a bit to get from each location to the next. This starts to eat away at the fun of the game, because it turns into a walking simulator, and even the gorgeous graphics, ambient sounds and lighting, as well as perfectly timed jump scares cannot give the monotony of walking from point A to B to C back to A to D any less than the feeling of a root canal. It took every second of an hour and twenty two minutes to finish one match of the game. That was with the two of us sprinting to complete every objective, and by midway through we had kicked it up to double time because once you stop you cannot resume where you were, its a play to the end kind of train wreck. The chilling atmosphere, the wonderful story, and the unique mechanics again, are worth their own weight in gold, but there are a lot of things to be addressed to call this game fantastic, or even good. I know the team at Clock Wizard Games has a lot to be proud of about their game, and for good reason, I just can't in good faith tell people to play the game as it is.

  Played 3 hours w/ friends and can tell this game has a huge potential! It's really good, looks great, gameplay is something new compared to similar games (DBD, Phasmophobia). Ghost's gameplay is kinda boring tho. Devs, hope you'll make this game even better! GJ!

  Where do I start? The level design is enormous, the map is very well thought out, and the atmosphere makes you feel like you're a part of it all. You will find that the atmosphere is equally helpful as hostile. Being able to hear in-game conversations "with in game communication" and the Entity hearing these conversations when we are nearby. Every feature and item in your hand has a different function and works beautifully. Jump scares are successful beyond the classics and make me jump every time. I like how the logic of the puzzles fits well into the game. While playing a video game, I had never enjoyed being scared so much, even if I was playing as "The Entity." An incredible game came from an incredible team. I look forward to it with interest and excitement. I believe you won't regret playing this game.

  The game itself isn’t bad. You must solve “puzzles” (basic ones) by using special items (camera, hearing sensor, special light crystal, etc.). Meanwhile you must survive the chaser’s attacks, by just flashing him. Yeah, that’s it. It is quite easy to do so. And by using the EMF you get to know when he is close. Nevertheless, there is not enough content in the game to recommend it at the moment. It's getting boring after 2-4 hours of gameplay, because it’s always the same map and the same puzzles. I had to return this game. It is definitely not worth 13€. I will consider buying it when there is more content.

  The game isn't bad, but as is it needs a lot of work. The "puzzles" solving mechanic is very cool to start, but are not procedurally generated so after a match or two you know how to quickly rush every objective on the map. Certain tools are not useful at all in the 4v1 (Looking at you, EMF reader). There's a weird false heartbeat bug when you're the haunt that points you off of the map, and it's been present in the game for months (this ruins the haunts gameplay). There's other weird balance issues, like a survivor can collect the heart at the end, but then anyone else in the group can turn it in to win, without ever having picked it up. tldr; It's fun for a bit, but wouldn't really recommend for now. Updates could save this game.

  I want to leave a good review for this game, the spook level is 10/10, the mechanics are good, and the visuals are good, but unfortunately it stops there. No appearance of ongoing support: single map, same repeating objectives, and a single "ghost" model. Last update was months in the making and it was summed up by adding a building to the map - and the building isn't even finished (nor does it have any playable features that I'm aware of). For $5 this would be an OK purchase, but the dev team needs to ramp up additional map creation, more randomized objectives, and pleeeaassseee update the ghost model (consider adding a few different ones?)

  Game definitely had potential Was definitely good horror but the game is dead. Wouldn't say it's worth the full price unless new content is actually released but they've abandoned this game and started up a new one.. to what abandon that one too? For now I don't recommend this game especially as a horror fanatic and coming from phas/devour/pacify etc. If anything buy on sale but its only one map..

  Just in case you're having more options, i would rate some of the popular horror games and this one: Labirinthine - 3/10 Phasmophobia - 9/10 Devour - 7/10 Pacify - 4/10 And this master piece Haunt Chaser, i will rate it a 10/10. Great graphics/ gameplay/ jumpscares. Have fun screaming and swearing ;)
