  I'm just gonna paste the email I wrote to the devs here. [b]TL;DR: Freaking amazing, worth every cent, buy it now.[/b] SPOILER ALERT: This "review" contains some late game spoilers on one of the endings, as well as talks on the topics of [spoiler] death and mortality [/spoiler] which are mentioned in one of said endings. So proceed with caution. [spoiler] Never would've thought that a game, out of all things, would make me deal with a phobia that has been chasing me for well over a decade. Back when I was a child, I started to think more and more about my own death, and how everything I care about would one day simply cease to exist. The uncertainty of what happens after my dying breath is something that has haunted me ever since then. I've hardly bringed that up to anyone, as it was insanely hard to do so. At one point, I even gave up on trying to find help because I knew the answers would be " just don't think about it", "you're still alive, enjoy your life". Despite hearing a million variations of these, none seemed to work. [/spoiler] [spoiler] And then... A streamer I watch a lot booted up Everhood on stream. I watched 10 minutes of him getting stuck in a fight and thought "this seems fun, I better stop here so I don't take spoilers". I put the game on my wishlist, bought it after a while, and... Ooooh boy. Not only was the gameplay even more incredible than I thought it was when I first saw it, but the story teached me that being immortal is not that good. It can be boring, painful, dreadful. That death, after all, should be embraced and treated as something natural and the end of a cycle. I saw myself in some of these characters, being really afraid of bringing it all to an end, but learning that facing the abyss and accepting mortality is, after all, the best thing to do. All these years, I was afraid to the point of traumatizing myself with my own thoughts. But not now, not today. All thanks to this piece of modern art called Everhood. I think I can finally enjoy all of the dozens and dozens of years I have left, without having to beat myself with the fear of old age and passing away. [/spoiler] [spoiler] I'm just insanely thankful for this experience. Really. From the bottom of my heart. It was worth every single cent, to the point I regret not playing it earlier. It's a lesson that I've been needing for a long, long time. And that completely caught me off guard because I bought the game for the soundtrack and gameplay. [/spoiler] [spoiler] Thank you, devs. For everything. [/spoiler]

  People need to stop comparing this to undertale so much. It's good enough to stand on it's own. Please play it.

  Really nice game and all but despite very good reviews, I didn't like where the story went. Slight spoiler: I was expecting a wholesome twist right until the end but it never came. Gameplay is engaging for sure though. And very fun. Game mechanics also evolve as you play. Musics are hit or miss for me. Some of them were really nice but most of them are not my cup of tea sadly. They sure did a good job though! Game effects are awesome too. They are really creative with battles and how the game changes throughout your playtime A huge spoiler: Game ends with you killing every immortal being in the universe. It's a sad story. But game doesn't give you any choice and you have to kill all of them to progress in the game. It also makes you feel bad to kill those characters. You hear their final words as they get deleted. Even near the end everyone fights against you. Sure its a nice change of pace from other games but I don't want to be the asshole that kills everyone and makes everything super depressing. Ending(s) are very very long too. So you spend like 2-3 hours in this depressing atmosphere. Overally I wanted to give this game something between thumbs up and down. But I can't do that. Lots of people already game this game thumbs up already. So I'm giving it thumbs down so people can see this review and make their own judgement. No hard feelings to the devs though! They did an awesome job!

  The music is great. The rest felt to me as a pretty incomprehensible mess.

  There's nothing blatantly awful about this game but it feels like the developers need to find their own creative voice instead of trying to be undertale so hard.
